Yeah but after visiting bar after bar on the surface you realize all of the dialogue is forced and nobody's being sincere or genuine. They all tell the same jokes and echo the same shit to each other. When you finally find the underground bar, sure it's a lot cruder and you might be offput at first but you start to realize you respect it a lot more since people don't give a fuck about your feeling or about being too nice. They try to throw you out because you're new and still hang onto that old surface mentality, but eventually you settle in with a group or two who share some of your interests, and you're so glad to be experiencing genuine interactions rather than forced "Thanks for the gold!" bullshit.

objectively true. Sup Forums is easily more fun and more genuine in every way but there's a bigger pool to draw on reddit for for the things I'm interested in. They have some decent resources.

But, fucking reddit culture is the worst and makes me fucking hate internet culture. Also, the more brutal/porn subs are a lot like Sup Forums. /r/watchpeopledie, /r/gore etc are quality and there's just a bigger volume of niche porn (/r/incest and its fellow subs) on reddit compared to Sup Forums (Sup Forums just has girl dick)

Sup Forums isn't fulfilling it's job as a filter anymore. It used to be so fucked that only a certain kind of poster would eventually make it to these boards. Now we are mainstream and people skip right past their newfag phase and bring it right to the actually decent boards.

Like, I browse /cum/ for memes and r/canada for news. Sup Forums is better for random browsing, but I go to reddit when I want something specific. The ImaginaryNetwork is probs one of my top used Internet resources

The demographics are far from the same. Reddit attracts typical casual people, a lot of college-aged (and younger) Americans and Canadians who want a casual platform to talk about casual shit.

Sup Forums has a lot of social rejects from shitty countries (yeah, a lot of Americans as well, but it's the internet so that's very typical) who are often depressed or have other serious mental and/or life issues. Just compare /adv/ with the advice subreddit: every other thread on /adv/ is seriously fucked up shit about getting arrested, being raped, getting robbed, living in poverty, being a NEET, etc. The advice subreddit, though I've never been there, is likely a lot more shit about cleaning gunk off of their $3,000 gaming PCs and how to break up with their seventh girlfriends (as opposed to most anons who are kissless virgins).

So, no, I don't buy that.
