They do. In the US.
siemens, ericsson, nokia, alcatel, BAE systems, airbus, williams advanced engineering, there's a shit ton but most isn't consumer focused.
What is Europe's equivalent to Silicon Valley?
europe
99% of servers and supercomputers run an OS of European origin.
>linux
>european origin
linux (european), based on minix (american), based on unix (american), all running american userland and programs.
lol nice bait.
The USA as a whole is based on European models of society then, what kind of retarded argument is that?
They're too busy fighting a holy war, only most of them don't realise it yet.
It's the socialist mindset. They lack the entrepreneurship and individualism Americans get hammered into them from a young age.
They're fundamentally broken.
Cause we are too smart for multiculturalism, so we are lowering our level in order to reach african level
Britain invented the computer.
Although Britain isn't European.
>Based
Thx lazy murican
Mikrotik is in europe
Being both native European and a non-pagan should be a crime
It's having been burned to the ground by two world wars.
The majority of microichip wafers made in America are exposed on European steppers.
W Europe is incredibly individualistic, thats why the people have no culture anymore. Japan did very well in tech and theyre also an anti-individualistic society
America is LITERALLY a colony of Europe.
Everything (important) that was created by Americans was created by Europeans (atom bomb, rockets, computers) or the sons or Europeans or the sons of the sons of Europeans etc..
America has become the center of the world's innovation, Europeans go there to create things.
This is also important in the context of two world wars, a significant number of German (and other) scientists fled to the US and this Exodus of scientists together with the enormous destruction in the two world wars led to the US becoming the scientific and technological super power that it is.
Also do not forget that Europe still isn't irrelevant, look at Linux, cars, etc.
It is.
'Murica is even more individualistic, but it does not have this problem.
Go back to
Literally this.
The US wouldn't survive two devastating world wars the same way Europe did.
Ironically Germans scientific output dropped together with an increase in individualism.
Also Western Europe as a whole is very individualistic. In America such a collectivist thing as "patriotism" is still mostly accepted, in Western Europe being even slightly nationalistic is considered a great evil.
The internet (possibly the greatest and most wideapread technology) was "made" by a British person.
End of thread.
Linux? Torvalds is American, friend.
Al Gore is Polish, idiot.
Based user.
Wrong.
The Web was.
Europeans made USA.
*drops mic*
He isn't.
Getting a citizenship does not erase your roots, no matter what your cucked Marxist education has lead you to believe.
Yes America is somewhat but it definitely is irrelevant and the development of a country relies on a shit ton of factors you cant put blame on a few problems
Het is finnish
Lmao how the fuck isn't britain European?
You must be thinking of EU
kek'd
Are you calling Britain, Continental!?
>see this thread an hour ago

God damn it Sup Forums
You're probably using ARM which is bong, dumb phoneposter.
>Torvalds
>Born in Finland
>a fucking burger
Why do americans do this?
I don't care about your made-up definitions. Britain is part of Europe and there is nothing that you can do about it.
rolling
>Thinks the United Kingdom is part of the European Continent.
Screw the Eurofags
It is.
>Just because UK is not part of Continental Europe, it's suddenly not part of Europe
Wew lad. I guess Alaska is not part of USA, since it's not connected to USA. Neither must be Hawaii.
Most of the innovations powering your phone are from Europe. For example; 2G was invented in Finland, 4G in Norway, Android is based on Linux which is a Finnish invention and ARM was invented in Britain.
Most Britons consider their contry a seperate entity from Europe. They are politically and culturally closer to US than Europe after all.
ARM architecture is British if that counts as European. The A used to stand for Acorn.
It is weird how Europe basically does nothing in terms of consumer hardware, software, or online services.
The exception is game development, but that seems to be scattered pretty evenly all over the world. Also there's ARM, although they're much less important than their licensees.
You like, Linux?
>They are politically and culturally closer to US than Europe after all.
most countries within europe are as distinct from each other as usa/britain are from those other european countries
VLC?
The only really 'European' part of 'Linux' was KDE/QT, and that's basically dead.
VLC is European-based through IIRC and still a going concern.
It's probably way easier to take on large projects when everyone actually speaks the same language. The french don't like speaking English, so there goes that. Germans prefer working by themselves. That severely limits the opportunities to make something big.
I'd say it's more that the markets are smaller, so even their local 'winners' will eventually get crushed by their US rivals since the American firms will have so much more scale.
E.g. before Facebook, Ebay, Amazon, Google, etc. became ubiquitous all around the world, there were early equivalents in various countries.
The one place that hasn't happened is with online classifieds, which I think mostly has to do with how completely and totally terrible Craigslist (the US 'winner') is. I have no idea how Craigslist became "the Craigslist" of the US.
>siemens
literally the most corrupt company of all time
they bribe politicians everywhere to get projects
t. guy who worked for Siemens
The first software was invented in Africa 10000 years ago.
nah, you're thinking of hardware
I've read that Germany companies put all the bribes they pay abroad on their tax returns as 'expenses'. Not even illegal there (vs. super illegal to pay bribes / participate in corruption abroad in Anglo countries)
It was a Bulgarian who invented it dumbass
yeah because turing is bulgarian
You forgot Bluetooth.
How do you think it got its stupid name.
I believe ada lovelace is supposed to have written the first programs (for the first never-built computer)
>made-up definitions
>literally an island
Europe ≠ Continental Europe
There is a distinction between the two.
how would you guys be posting in this thread right now if it wasn't for australia?
"two cows tied with a rope" is not a computer
whatever floats your boat, butthurt brit
What gave you the idea that I'm a Brit? If anything, I would be denying being part of Europe if I were British.
Stop butting into discussions like a fucking retard and at least attempt to read the thread you're responding to.
>nokia
used to be "state-of-the-art"
Britain invented the programmable digital computer. John Atanasoff invented the digital computer, meaning Bulgaria did.
isn't russia in europe? europe would have much better tech if everyone spoke the same language and russia wasn't a disaster.
>thinks Nokia is a consumerist company
wow murrika and their consumerism
>worthwhile technology
Like in consumer electronics?
>the same language
English is a thing
>isn't russia in europe?
No, and Europe wouldn't fare better if it were in any way.
How are the working conditions in these so called ''Russian troll factories'', Pjotr?
Ada Lovelace is considered first programer, but she wrote algorightms for computer designed by Charles Babbage, who was also british.
So yeah, britons all the ways down.
>John Vincent Atanasoff (October 4, 1903 – June 15, 1995) was an American physicist and inventor, best known for being credited with inventing the first electronic digital computer
Go back to milking goats.
ASLR is yuropean
>invents something in America
>suddenly American
Fucking credit stealing shits
Russia is in both Europe and Asia. Used to be in North America, too.
>makes an empire where they claim territory on the other side of the world as theirs
>"b-but were not european because we aren't part of the continent"
Russia is literally as European as Turkey, meaning not, if only because a few square kilometres don't count for shit.
>It is weird how Europe basically does nothing in terms of consumer hardware, software, or online services
Spotify, Marca, Orange, Libero, GMX, Leboncoin
>Atanasoff was born on October 4, 1903 in Hamilton, New York to an electrical engineer and a school teacher.
Your goats are waiting, Ismail.
>Bulgarian father
Precious white caucasian christian genes. Pure Bulgarian, that one.
You mean how pretty much every company works? You think Boeing and Lockheed Martin are any different? You think Google or Apple hasn't slipped some money into a politicians pocket to get a contract? You can't honestly be this naive.
You do know Turkey was a EU candidate before Erdogan?
Turkey has been rejected entry for decades. Turkey is as much EU as Azerbaijan belongs in Eurovision.

If his father was a Bulgarian, it doesn't mean he was. He is 50% ethnic Bulgar at best, and 100% American citizen, eligible for US presidency.
as a phoneposter you might already know that the sim-card in you're telephone is of yropeen origin
>50% at best
At least. Also born in Bulgaria. Just happened to be American, for what that's worth...

Read it and weep.
socialism deeply engrained in their culture. total risk aversity. drone mentality. all worthwhile genetic material left europe and settled the US. europe is a dead continent doomed for eternal bureaucracy.

No, Jamal, we are expanding.
