please return to reddit

Am I the only one that prefers pre-metro and material design like in Windows 7 over everything? Classic GUIs look like eyebleach

IRIX Interactive Desktop is maximum comfy. It's available on 64-bit Fedora.

This is the most uncomfy thing I've ever seen.

Ok, enjoy your flat metro numale desktop that's Made by Soyboys, for Soyboys (TM).

I disagree.

You are the only one. I prefer mixed graphics / ASCII GUIs.

...

riscos was similarly awful on the eyes

never used it, if you could rice it to be a bit more plain it might be tolerable

as it is, it's cancer

damn it's like I'm 14 again and the only game I can play is Otto Matic. I remember it was around this time the first porn videos were available on the web.

porn vides were on the web since before the web existed, in the dl and gl formats

There's something oddly pleasing about these, especially when you imagine that screens used to be a lot smaller then, meaning they'd be more "full".

Even now I think large screens just function as an excuse for lazy design.

That looks like it belongs here:

they're beautifully done especially considering how easy on a computer's resources they must have been

Same. Something like this would be great on low-power machines.

BeOS and Haiku are very comf.

...

...

no they were, but not available from google searches. I think pornhub or xhampster was the first one I was able to gain access to searching for Boobies. I distinctly remember googling porn and only getting images. Also my parents got mad at me for playing Civ 3 all day and night

Didn't Haiku say they were going to push to release 1.0 soon?

I want to believe.

Anti-aliased fonts were a mistake.

I never felt better than on E.

e16 in early 2000

This was truly the peak.

>available on 64-bit Fedora
Really? How?

>gooey
>comfy
pick no more than one

Modern screens are too large and precise to have the same intimacy in the CLI as in old computers.

what's your point?
the superiority of the CLI is screen independent

>autists like this actually exist

go back to the shit pit you crawled out of, fucking Sup Forumsermin

boo hoo
cry more you autistic fuck

is this winxp for apple?

GUIs are as old as CLIs

That modern screens either are too large for smaller fonts making you need to make them overly busy to fill the space, or you have to scale the fonts up so that you end up with inch-high letters.

Teletypewriters predate any GUI

or just use 14-16px bitmap fonts

everything after 10.4 looks like absolute trash :/

Point to point teletype is not CLI you retard.

Both GUIs and CLIs are from the 60's
Also

What kind of interface do you think you had on a teleprinter used as a terminal?

>makes an awful point
>gets butthurt
fuck off, kiddo

CLI, but you're thinking of much earlier systems probably.
Because CLI with teletype is not much older than GUIs. Early 60's vs late 60s.

Which is older.
And the early 60s had actual commercially available units that people used.
AFAIK the 60s GUI stuff was research-only.

Stop using GUIs.

Oh.
):
I miss it.
