Yes.

sure if you don't mind having a vulnerable system

Peak comfy in the Windows category imo.

Windows 10 is objectively better in more ways then one.

alri pajeet

WIN XP is peak comfy desu

Yeah, constantly having to play whack-a-mole with its various vulnerabilites was a big reason for me to get away from Windows.

shitpost somewhere else, aussie

>Not using MsDOS

This is the truth

>THIS ends the thread

>comfy

Sorry, I don't speak daft cunt.

No. It's gaudy, ugly, awkward, bloated, irritating and confusing. It's Windows.

The only thing that could make it constitute "comfy" is nostalgia.

>Gyazo
>Skype

Yeah been running various flavour of Debian but just went back to Windows 7 2009 image on my old 64gb SSD. I needed to do some audio restoration with a FireWire card and it is max comfy.

I don't care too much about security I have plenty of other computers with nix locked down. But there is something about it. I just love the look and font rendering ... It's really pretty and the open source guys still haven't caught up.

Yes

the task bar is shit but every thing else is bretty nice desu

Linux Mint is comfier than every Windows version ever

>windows clone
>comfier than original
>doesnt even come with 3d space pinball
nah

>2009/2011 if you count sp1
>nostalgia

Whatever system you use, if your background isn't bliss you might as well neck yourself

No, ascending and switching to a non-systemd GNU/Linux distro is comfy. Anything else is placebo.

You'd be surprised. 2009 was 8 years ago, so a 10 y/o then would be 18 now

it's a shame win7 can't into proper 4k scaling like win10

It can. 7 has two scaling methods.

everything looks off
window control buttons look weird
right click context menu text looks bigger than it should be
icon text seems different
it is just weird
can you show me the XP style scaling next to the new one for comparison?

All the text and icons seem fine here. Nothing different compared to LTSB2016. And window control buttons look fine. That's how they are supposed to scale.

win10 cannot into scaling either. No windows OS scales well.

Show me steam or any other 3rd party GUI.

nop
vista is best gui of any OS so far

myhatmycoatmyknickers plz leave

Is WSUS still good for updating only the security updates for Windows 7?
I heard about this SImplix thing, but I don't really trust it.

Is WSUS still viable for getting all the updates?
I heard about Simplix, but I don't treally trust it enough.

Simplix works fine and it's faster and better curated (no GWX, telemetry or CPU blocking). You can also easily integrate it pre-install to create an up to date iso. Plus it can integrate USB3 and NVMe drivers as well.

But WSUS is fine too. Your decision..

I check this often, the media still hasn't stopped spewing shit regarding Sup Forums out of it's gaping asshole. I think it's time for Hiro to put old yeller down.

It's always poorfags using shit tier laptops and Core 2 Duos claiming that Windows 7 is still the best.

Really makes you think.

I created an iso with that and the tool that was provided with it to integrate it.

Does it actually hide all the installed updates? Because I still required quite a few and when I went to the update list it showed fuck all. Also the ISO was way smaller, just a bit above 3GB.

installed update list* sorry

Windows 7 is the best desktop OS.
3770k @ 4,8GHz, 32GB G.Skill, Nvidia Titan X Pascal, Intel 530 SSD

>I created an iso with that and the tool that was provided with it to integrate it.
What tool? The pack itself is integrated via DISM, no other tools.

>Does it actually hide all the installed updates?
Yes, the list of updates is greatly curated. YOu can check the forums if you understand Russian.

>Because I still required quite a few and when I went to the update list it showed fuck all
I think you did something wrong.

No. Windows 10 and macOS are the peak at the current date.

Really now?

>Ivy Bridge i5

Thanks for proving my point, buddy!

I used Update7 Integrator.

Nice goalpost move

Nice nigrig, poorfag.

Childish. As expected.

Poor. As expected.

No. You do it via DISM. You did it wrong.

dism /Get-WimInfo /WimFile:C:\w7wim\install.wim
UpdatePack7R2-17.1.15.exe /ie11 /Optimize /WimFile=C:\w7wim\install.wim /Index=*

Replace * with the index. If you leave * all indexes are going to be updated (Home,Pro,Ultimate). It will take longer. Enterprise iso has only one index. I think
Ultimate = 4
Pro = 3
Home Premium = 2
Basic = 1
Starter is a different iso.

>4gb
>64-bit
nah, stick to 32bit

Why would you do that? x64 uses about 300MB of RAM on boot.

Close but not peak

just like XP was 11 years ago, user

You do realize there are other benefits then just memory limit when using 64-bit?

third party desktops in the win store when?
hell, they made a launcher for android, its only fair

>He doesn't use a de-uglify theme with classic shell

windows will never look better than this. face it

No, install macOS

Oh god

>WSUS offline
How do you know its not a botnet?

It's a bunch of scripts and open source tools. Feel free to check them out.

Do they check updates for included telemetry? How do they do it?

You have the option there to downloading security only patches. The download-lists are made by hand and checked by the community.

How do they check if there is no telemetry in the updates? Its closed source after all. Its kinda hard to trust to WSUS when their site doesnt even support https...

Okay, now you're just trolling. Should've known.

>being absolutely clueless: the post

???

I would switch to 7, but I haven't seen a Windows 7 that looks good. Granted it doesn't have fuckery like having to install software to remove shit like the ribbon but I haven't seen a single good theme.

I thought the ancile scripts had surpassed simplix/wsus?

yep, pretty comfy

what's a good place to grab official isos that haven't been tampered with... to tamper with?

You won't get magically exploited by the hacker boogeyman you moron. There needs to be an attack vector which most likely will be another compromised system in your network or:
A. Your browser
B. Your image viewer/media player
C. Some executable your dumb ass downloaded and ran
Should be fine as long as you are not a moron, you should worry more about exploits in third party applications. What are you going to do when there is a buffer overflow exploit in Chrome's JS engine? It'll affect every version of Windows AND Linux to top it off.

Thanks femanon, I did it again your way with the patch applied for w10 and shit worked.

>What's a third party theme?

Is it cool having 2 control panels and windows constantly trying to reassociate all your file types and treating the user as a restarded baby?

> steam

Don't like a bit of slang ey kiddo? Fucking knobhead.

> Not using a Vista theme on a Windows 7 install

...

Nostalgia?

>nostalgia
>for Vista

if anything, put an XP theme on it you fucking moron

Vista was the worst Windows distribution, why would you develop nostalgia for that..?

The UI.

Inferior to XP.

Unless you use Openbsd you can shut the fuck up

> Inferior to the Fisher Price UI

> tfw when your PC is just super comfy

Maybe a few years ago but not today, son.

BASED ANONS

>Implying this looks any better at all

>tfw have to install on MBR because you fucked up and got ultimate

What the fuck is that disgusting shit even the newest Ubuntu looks better than that

>all these retards using the word comfy but can't describe how an operating system can be comfy

Are you even trying?
>implying pic related is better

>shit color scheme
>shit font

that's not how Windows XP looks out of the box. That's how XP looks after someone's downloaded every single bloatware/add-on known to mankind.
>> Icons on desktop
>> Gadgets on desktop
Where the fuck else am I going to put them? It's supposed to be a fucking desktop not just some pretty picture.
>> Windows 8 back/forward buttons
I didn't catch that but if anything it looks better than Vista's
>> Preview panel on windows
>> Default wallpaper
>> Acer computer
>> Custopack tools
>> Chrome
>> Botnet torrent
>> Itunes
>> 12 hr clock
Has nothing to do with the look of the OS. And the picture isn't mine, either, dumbass

This was just perfection.

Can I get that wallpaper, please?

Ayyy can I get that slick paper please?

look closer
its just not the same, i wish i could use vista sp2 on this machine
