How often did you defrag back in the days
every day. now i defrag my ssd every once in a while.
About once per week, maybe once in two weeks.
I'd leave it overnight.
I defrag my ssds every day just to make sure, doesn't take long anyways
wtf
I hope this is bait
I had some "power tool" program that would do this, but the drive became corrupted after a few weeks and I suspect it was related.
>I had some "power tool" program that would do this
That was only valid in times of Windows XP. Since Windows 7, built in defragmentator is more than enough, user...
i miss those colored squares flashing on my screen
My file system doesn't fragment by design because its not a piece of shit
I defrag my NVMe before every COD session to keep my framerate at a maximum
rarely
>thinks this to be true
Why are the newer defrag programs that come with windows trash compared to the older ones?
Good luck when disk gets >80% full
defrag in Windows 98:
>Oh shit, you've changed one .txt, I better start from scratch
When there are no big enough chunks on a disk, it has no choice but to write fragmented data.
In Primary School there was a kid who's answer to every computer related problem was defragging. He even bragged about how he would "defrag his computer every week".
did you blow his mind with disc cleanup?
Of course there's some fragmentation In ext4, its not even a negative, keeping data too close together is detrimental to performance. but not enough that you would need to defragment in any real or theoretical situation.
for the new kids, defragging a SSD often will ruin it due to the way the thing works. Please don't do that until I buy more stocks in SSD corps.
Windows won't let you do that, though. The built-in defragger only does TRIM.
I would fill my drives up before I would be able to defrag.
I have an SD, I don't defrag
it is, noob
never
why is nu-Sup Forums like this

I don't use meme file systems
never, why would you?
