I'm new to GNU/Linux but I'm building up my installation of Void. I got screenfetch but it's not able to detect my font and I'm not sure what to do. From what I can tell it's looking for the font in a file that doesn't exist.
I don't know how exactly to rectify that.

I miss FreeBSD, using zfs on the root filesystem was amazing.
I went with arch to avoid some weird debugging problems with mixing clang with gcc, and some things are still more polished on the GNU/Linux side.

Honestly I have no idea why I decided to randomly install FreeBSD on my X220 on an old HDD from 2009. Basically any distro has FreeBSD beat in all respects for desktop usage. My fonts are ugly, GNOME is utterly broken, there is basically no viable option for a GUI network application thing, no SELinux, and the palm rejection is basically nil. I guess it's fun to add variety to your life. My T520 which is basically my home workstation is still on Fedora, and the SSD that was in the X220 is still intact with Fedora for when I pussy out. I did choose zfs but I don't really know why.

I had some graphic glitches with gnome too, that's when I started messing up with window maker. I remember many keyboard shortcuts weren't working as well as on Linux, but eventually I figured out how to fix the fonts.

are you using pcmanfm with wmaker? how did you get the icon to actually stay consistent?
when pcmanfm is not open it's some tiny 16x16 folder icon

I've been using thunar, but I force the icon on the window attributes. That usually works for replacing icons in general.
