Say something nice about openSUSE

Say something nice about openSUSE

Konqi is a pure boy and works great with opensuse

Firefox has thumbnails in its filepicker
can't think of anything else though

Tumbleweed was nice until it broke after an update

i literally cant

I don't have to use it.

ubuntu but with german autism.

>Firefox has thumbnails in its filepicker

the best feature. i switched for this reason

>switching distros for basic functionalities
So much for Linux customization.

install gentoo

tumbleweed is such shit it can't even make it past the detect network phase of the installer

I have very standard hardware so installer was fine

Anyways, I do think OpenSUSE is a very good distro. YaST is it's main feature and I love it.

Also, Tumbleweed is extremely stable (around fedora level, not quite debian or slack) and have had 0 problems with it

>muh freedums!

>I have very standard hardware so installer was fine
tumbleweed won't install on a basic dell vostro....

>what is snapper
>why do I use btrfs?

really? that's a problem

report it to the dev team if you could

Open Build Service is god tier.

>what is snapper
>why do I use btrfs?

Because you are into data loss?

btrfs is Poettering cancer.

redcuck don't support btrfs anymore. it's maintained mostly by suse.

> redcuck don't support btrfs anymore. it's maintained mostly by suse.

Your point being? It's the usual Poettering story, yes:

> write broken shit
> stop maintaining shit, because starting shiny!!11!!! new!!!1111!! piece of broken shit
> somebody else maintains broken shit
> it's still broken shit and will always be
> wash, later, rinse, repeat

Just because Poettering keeps finding "somebody else" who tries to clean up his messes, they remain messes.

btrfs wasn't an oracle thing? how is it a poettering cancer?

Lunduke is going away from it.
He is going to install Gentoo next.
He is truly /our_guy/

> btrfs wasn't an oracle thing? how is it a poettering cancer?

Heh. Indeed. I stand corrected, it's Oracle cancer. I figured it was Poettering cancer because the Poettering crowd has been shilling so hard for it.

Be that as it may, I still maintain it is cancer. There is an awful lot of data corruption going on whenever snapper runs (no not when restoring, when creating new snapshots).

I use it. I like it. I make money thanks to it. Fuck neckbeard NEET autists with their Ganoos and Archs.

Yast is nice at face value for beginners I guess.
I did use it for a while but just went back to arch

Related to Debian...?

openPEPE + Kucky is the way to go

how do you make money with it?

I personally prefer Debian/Ubuntu based distros but there's nothing wrong with openSUSE, I've tried it out before on a virtualbox w/ Xfce and I absolutely loved yast.

Just not for me though, I'm very cozy on Ubuntu budgie (previously Ubuntu mate)

this

it's not even debian

And how is that any different from regular autism?

I like the mascot.

>Because you are into data loss?

do you have a single fact to back this up?

Its more refined and useful

i lost all my data with btrfs. once i hit 100% use the whole filesystem became unreadable and snapshots could not be restored.

it's ext4 for me now. nice and comfy.

literally this

...

better then mint

Every distro is better than mint

Ya, you have to set snapper up correctly or every time you upgrade it creates a snapshot. Fills up the root partition, shits all down hill for normies. I only left because of poor performance with steam. Yast and steam really don't like each other.

Best KDE distro

or you could install something like debian where you never have to deal with this shit :^)

I think it's shit because they replaced Cancel with Abort for some fucking reason

somebody pls draw wojak with that swirly penis underneath the lizard

just werks
yast is awesome
user community is not as hostile as some distro's communities are

I must confess: I like zypper. Most clear synthax.

Do you need Yast ?
if no Xu/Lu/Ku/U/buntu is better

fairly stable on tumbleweed

last time i try it it broke after an update, and steam was broken for like 2 weeks

>using btrfs

Please
