Florida will be getting high speed rails in 2017.

What will your state/province/region get next year?

Hopefully a functional budget

t. Illinois

wait, what?

i thought that initiative got thrown out
like, years ago

Self-driving highways.

It will be private since Ricky Scott is an idiot.

They're building the stations right now and should open mid 2017.

literally nothing

Death by Shariah law.

London is getting a new tube line
£14 billion

I'm in Florida and have never heard of this

Assuming it's only throughout south Florida?

meme

More refugees.

...

where the hell will it go?

Fucking where? I live in Broward and haven't heard of this.

...

>3 million cars off the road

kek no
you americans avoid public transport like the plague

Debt, stagnation, and general misery, and a handful of windmills.

This is a metropolitan area where public transit is actually used.

They suck as they are always late.

Not necessarily in cities like NYC, Chicago, or Boston. IDK how Florida will respond, though.

Not bad. I always hated the three to four hour drive to Orlando.
I somewhat agree: I bet only a limited subset of people will use the trains, unfortunately. Somewhat related, the closest bus stop to my house is probably over half an hour walk away.

>Somewhat related, the closest bus stop to my house is probably over half an hour walk away.
is that a good or bad thing for you

steal money, keep paving hills and slopes with shitty house colonies and bdaly done minimalistic type offices and plazas degrading even more the supposed natural reserved areas and making rain floods bigger, gosh i lllooooooooovvveee my country, they also planned to put a high speed train from my town to mexico city but even they knew that idea was ultra retarded

I don't think public transportation exists outside of South Florida.

Hm. Chicago has all of those categories except People Mover, and I assume NYC and Boston at least are the same.

More spics

t. California

Bad, since I don't own a car, since I'm a NEET.

>outside of south Florida
Outside of Miami*
FTFY

which train company will lead this project?

Higher crime rate

Na, Palm Beach and Broward have tri rail and busses. I don't know anyone here in Miami who uses metro rail.

I've only rode tri-rail once in my life, since there's no way to get to the stations other than in your own car. As previously stated, all the bus stations are far, far away.
While Broward may de jure have public transportation, de facto it does not.

>tfw you can still remember how mad everyone was when he pitched his hissy fit and threw the money back at the feds

I'm glad the rail is finally going back in. I was looking at moving back to St. Pete, now I have one more reason to go.

>will be running in 2014

St. Petersburg has a pretty decent bus line that goes across the entire city.

what city planner would place their rail lines far away from their bus depots
thats like SimCity level planning

I'm sorry, I meant the bus stops are far away from where I live, and far away from where everyone I know lives. The buses probably come close to the stations.
I rode the tri-rail once in my life from Fort Lauderdale to Miami, to watch a play.
My mother drove her car to the Fort Lauderdale station, we rode the train, and my father drove us from the Miami station to the theatre, since he stayed in Miami instead of driving home from work. Public transportation doesn't work if it requires not one, but two cars to get to your destination.

I wonder if American St Petes know if Russian St Petes exist

>What will your state/province/region get next year?
morphine addiction and bathsalts
and then suicide

Based on recent French politics they're more likely to remove kebab than submit to them.

Probably, it's the second-most prominent Russian city.

OP, I'm calling bullshit. There's no way this is happening.
t. sarasota resident

PS: Sarasota's bus line is unironically named "SCAT". Gonna scat all the way to the beach.

>florida
>public transit
what the fuck are you talking about? We have 0 public transit to speak of

I know it exists but whenever anyone who isn't a floridian mentions st. petersburg I get very confused because they mention snow and russia. And then I remember.

1. They're already building the stations in three of the cities in South Florida, you can read about it in your local paper or on their website.

I think they want to to get the line from Miami to Orlando first and see how it goes before they expand to Tampa and Jacksonville.

2. Florida does have public transit but it's garbage as the only people who use it are immigrants and other poor people and they always run late or don't have enough stops.

3. I'm going to bed so good night.

Do you seriously have 1 bus line per city?

>station named after MLKs son

..... ,, ..,,..,

79-125 mph is not HSR.

We're getting free public bikes.
Although there aren't any cycle routes, sidewalks are thin as fuck and people drive like apes, so yeah, nothing much.

>free
>in colombia

:X

Per county, generally. For example, my county (Sarasota) has SCAT (Sarasota County Area Transit). The next city north is Bradenton, in Manatee County. They have MCAT, Manatee County Area Transit.

Then there's Hillsborough County with Tampa and St. Petersburg. They have something else, I forget.

MLK Jr. was the civil rights leader you drooling retard.

Chinese investment

we got this new highspeed connection this year

Also, due to brexit most banks retreive from London and concentrate their resources on Frankfurt. They have several big projects, as there is too much demand for all the bankers moving here.

they will finally be done building an actually useful metro line after nearly ten years.

Why do you have to advertice it so much that it's private. Shouldn't it be a nice thing to build something good for nature, even with tax money?

I hope so...

Because using tax money would be communism!

Socialism*
Money and communism are mutually exclusive.

>gourmet meals

thats the food in deutsche bahn 1st class. just sayan'

refugees.
We are broke.

Yes, it's overpriced. But this picture is also a bad example. They also have fairly decent dishes too, for instance Flammkuchen. 1st and 2nd class food is the same, you can get it in the canteen onboard.

This isn't true HSR it won't even 80 mph, California high speed rail will run at twice that speed once it's built in a few years

Can't wait to ride this

I always wonder what that thing in the front is even useful for? Please buy some German trains.

youtube.com/watch?v=Js3XDTE5Iyg

They're opening a metro extension, maybe. It was supposed to open this month but then like one month beforehand they go like lol jk we're not even close to finished yet

the new Eurostar and Sapsan get these trains btw

>Gonna scat all the way to the beach.
kek

A metric fuckload of wannabe-dindu Dominicans.

In PA, there's nothing worth looking forward to.

New commieblocks for shitskins

Most likely we'll use Siemens or Shinkansen for the train set I'm rooting for you Germany

Rent a few hundred square kilometers of forest rent to the Chinese for 49 years.

More suburban expansion with no development of networks.

Neat
