Who the fuck thought making Left Shift so small was a good idea?

Shift smaller than caps lock is a disgrace.
Caps lock should be removed from keyboard.

Why the fuck do these cancer-infested keyboards exist anyway? My parents bought a new Lenovo laptop and the enter key on the keypad is in the top right.
Are the people designing these in some sort of drugs?

replace Caps Lock with Ctrl, and replace Ctrl with Fn

ISO europoors

>Who the fuck thought that placing ctrl key in place where you usually expect win-key is a good idea?

I just went looking for the model you're describing but cant find it.. which model is that?

no, like this

NO.
Put Fn in Caps Lock place. Ctrl has to remain in its rightful place.

why the fuck is the \ key on that side of keyboard

You mean the command key?

...

oh its just one of those retarded iso keyboards

Lenovo Ideapad 100 15ibd
That keypad is an absolute disgrace.
Also the power button is next to the USB ports. Literally wat...

Bios setting to switch them

wouldn't work for a standalone keyboard

This is the superior way. Poker master race.

...

What is this monstrosity.

What the hell is the point in connecting Enter and Backslash?

SHUT UP YOU IGNORANT PIECE OF SHIT, THE CAPS KEY LOCK STAYS EXACTLY WHERE IT WAS

I'm guessing to save on manufacturing the non-US version

kek

just use enUS keyboard

IBM, you fucking underage.

...

Why not shorten right shift and have full-sized arrows?

>SHUT UP YOU IGNORANT PIECE OF SHIT, THE CAPS KEY LOCK STAYS EXACTLY WHERE IT WAS

Who the fuck needs a fn key anyway? I never used it in my life.

How do you adjust your volume?

You don't, and you use hjkl like a real man

>tfw use capslock for first-letter capitals

By using the volume control wheel on my speakers.

Actually I find the aforementioned position better. I can just use my pinkie to press it, as to using adjusting my whole hand to press it.

Though the small shift is a problem.

>>tfw use capslock for first-letter capitals
>Linux ripping my asshole open because of the stupid caps-lock delay
WWHO IN THE EVER LOVING FUCK THOUGHT THIS WAS A GOOD IDEA

>t. enterlet

my fucking thinkpad is the same way and it's the only thing i hate about this keyboard

that and the BIOS doesn't have a function to make Fn the default behaviour, do they not realise F4, F5, and F11 are all more useful than their retarded media keys

fn = harmful bloat
super = harmful bloat
alt = harmful bloat
fuck everything
reeeeee

You mean the super key?

nice bloat keyboard faggot

Honestly, I like it. The movement to where shift is either takes my hand out of home row or contorts it and causes some discomfort. But that location is easily accessible by just moving my pinky down and keeping all other fingers where they are. The only problem is that I come in contact with it using my nail so I have to be careful that it doesn't slide and hit another key but it's still much better.

>arrow keys
>pageup
>pagedown

>macOS pulling the exact same shit with base settings

My ThinkPad has an option in BIOS to swap them. No OS-level drivers needed or anything.

what the fuck is the function key used for anyway? I don't think i've ever clicked it intentionally.

The objectively patrician laptop layout
>T shaped arrows
>Full size shift keys on both sides
>Ctrl where it should be
>RAlt and Rctrl
>All F keys
>Numpad

why the fuck even use a keyboard with a Fn button?
They are literal trash and have no purpose except to make life harder.

>He doesn't program on a space cadet

Does anybody actually use right-alt?
Also, how often do you use right-ctrl?

bottom left fn instead of ctrl is a war crime

Can you remap fn?

Google's replacement for Android tablets

>Best keyboard right here.
Using it for 10 years and found three more of the same at a goodwill for 6 dollars.

Now I think about it. I don't use the right-alt, cntrl, windows, shift, or the mysterious right-clicker-on-the-right.

Not sure why you’d need them on a regular keeb, but on applel:
>Press function keys
>They’re hotkeys for things like volume, brightness, keyboard backlight brightness, workspaces, etc
>Press Fn + Function keys
>They turn into regular function keys

Why's the fucking track pad so far left.

Centred to the alphabetic keyboard

how do you ctrl+alt+delete after your computer locks up from all the cuck porn you watch?

I've used a laptop that had a key to open the calculator where left ctrl would be.

>key to open the calculator
wat

I can swap mine in BIOS, which I did instantly.

>not remapping caps to control
what the fuck is wrong with you?

That used to be a big thing where your keybaord had a shitton of dedicated buttons to open up shit like your mail client, web browser, calculator, search.

you need to replace that trackpad right now

I have a T460 at work, I prefer this one. Never got used to the Trackpoint, it's better as an actual touchpad.

>not mapping ctrl to capslock
how can you retards live? I mean wtf do you need the fucking capslock key for? the state of normies is just disgusting

>what is hjkl
>what is ctrl-p/n/f/b
again normies deserve to be gassed

>not having i3 bindings for this
just kys normiefag

add more stickers

That shift would put me on tilt way more.
Rebind CapsLock to Ctrl. Rebind Ctrl to Meta. Rebind Meta to Menu or something.

They probably wanted to vendor-lock their users by that arbitrary change.

Because it has the stupid numpad which doesn't belong to laptops. Nobody wants to type so that their resting position isn't centered but too far to the left. Anyone who only uses a laptop but absolutely needs a numpad is already using an external keyboard + monitor anyway. Laptops are for laps and they should be designed with that in mind. Attaching periferials unlocks longer stationary work possibilities. Otherwise you're either off-center palm wise or screen wise.

This is probably one of my biggest pet peeves when it comes to laptops. It's like they hate productivity.

confirmed

>the fuck are those keys next to L and P

You mean the step key?

>Ö and Ä

>t. dexterity-let
lol
guitar players don't have this problem

The enter key isn't in the top right retard that is just UK enter

Some asshole, to be sure

I use emacs and this would be easier as I could hit it with my thumb. Might think about remapping lol

Allows for larger keys on small (eg laptop) keyboards if you want to have extra buttons for shit like brightness, keyboard backlight or volume

Right Alt is used in countries which have diacritics like ą, ę, ś etc (right alt + a, e and s, respectively, on kurwaboard). And right Ctrl is used to escape the virtual machine in VirtualBox, I kept that default because I absolutely never touch that key otherwise
