how do i make it log inside the .exe directory

Is mpv still adding features on a monthly basis?
They literally bump up the version number and create a release every month using a cron job just so linux distros will have something to package

Debian stable still has version 0.23.0 in their repos, deb-multimedia stable has 0.25.0 and deb-multimedia stable-backports has 0.27.0

I update weekly

i came into this thread for the cute haruhi, have a (you)

local mp = require 'mp'

local mpv_dir = mp.find_config_file("mpv.exe")
if mpv_dir then
print("mpv dir is: " .. mpv_dir:sub(0,-8))
end

haruhi a cute

Would scaling 720p or 1080p to 4k take more resources assuming the file size is proportional to the resolution?

Is there anyway to reduce the shadows on subtitles?

What shadows?

*slut

rude

that's an outline, not shadow

The black outlining around the text
Yeah I meant the outline
Any ideas? I can't find anything about it in the manual

>Would scaling 720p or 1080p to 4k take more resources.

It does indeed. Even for a 480p DVD scaling, you will notice.

sub-border on the manual
What do I need to replace with the other .lua?

Examine the script and change it to do what you want it to do.

best config

Got it, thanks

I don't know .lua

That's a really cute picture!

my goddess haruhi is so cute, isn't she?

Is there any way to cache live streams to a --cache-file ? It says can't cache a live stream.

...

github.com/mpv-player/mpv/issues/5121

Winfags can no longer watch live streams... time to install GNU/Linux !!

meant for

How to add noise like pic related?
Without adding meme shader.
deband-grain kinda doesn´t work.

vf=noise=alls=20:allf=t+u

but ... I am using linux

...

I use autoprofiles.lua and I have one profile for 30+fps, to use a faster profile because my PC can't handle my normal profile at those framerates.
I specifically use profile-desc=cond:get("estimated_vf_fps", 23,976) >= 30, which seems to constantly re-evaluate if it's over 30 or not. Would this constant checking negatively affect performance?

Oh... t-t-time t install MacOS !

Try installing GNU/Linux.

Is Vulkan supposed to result in less performance than OpenGL? I'm using a gtx 660.

From what I've seen here since the Vulkan builds started coming out is that it works particularly well with high-end cards, but not so much with others
Even then you have to deal with any issues that might pop up
Just use whatever gives you t he best result, user

Does auto-profiles support applying multiple profiles?

Don't see why it wouldn't.

What's the best way to downmix in mpv? can you make stereo into surround sound?

Haruhi!!!!!~

why should I use MPV over VLC ?

Why do you ask?

That's my wife buddy

Know your developers tards
github.com/akemi

I'm glad someone finally realised
I plan to slowly make my way though all the Devs, but I'm not the regular OP so it might take a while

Is any of them not a weeb?

I don't think CounterPillow is

wm4 isn't, he thinks animemers are retarded and write shit code.

>4 trivial commits
>mpv dev
No.

If they've contributed in any way they're worth mentioning

No. He can take his commits and fuck off.

bump

He is our guy.

I still don't understand why ffmpeg had to remove the auto-detect broken x264 files, I almost just want to go back to using a 1 year old version mpv, because I keep on running into them.

I'm trying both of em. I have baka as a front end for MPV. I can't seem to decide, and I was wondering if someone who has extensively used both can tell me the pros and cons

How do I get the highest quality output? Is there more to it then what's in the OP? How does it compare to other players?

Can I install mpv without the python bullshit?

I don't have config file what's up?

Just make your own :^)

Lmao alright is there anything special I should do?

profile=gpu-hq

Already did that haha how can I get it to play from a directory like VLC and MPC?

mpv path/to/directory

I mean without using terminal haha

github.com/mpv-player/mpv/tree/master/TOOLS/lua
you want autoload
read the readme

Navigate to the directory you want in your file manager, ctrl+a, right-click, and open with mpv

MPV is a meme player that doesn't realize your OS has a taskbar.

Also if you try to position your video, the retarded devs decided to make coordinate the corner of a video, rather than the middle. Idiots.

nice meme

> x and y set the window position, measured in pixels from the top-left corner of the screen to the top-left corner of the image being displayed.
> top-left corner of the image being displayed.

How about the middle of the image you mongs. At least give the option. But freetards gonna free.

Submit a fix if you care so much

Send a patch then

there's no point

freetards have too much pride and will tell you how their solution is superior

Alrighty thank you

Make it a configurable option to where you can define coordinates based on the corner or the middle of the video.

if mpv is the greatest player why do you have to build it yourself?

pacaur -S mpv-git

It just werks

why wouldn't you want to build it yourself so you can disable and enable features as you please?
i don't want none of that javascript crap built into my mpv

Hey guys where do I save lua scripts on windows? Just in the mpv directory?

Make a directory called "scripts" in your mpv directory.

Ah alright thank you

Why isnt my taskbar going away when I full screen What the F

What OS?

Windows 10, sorry.

Try installing gentoo.

Im going to slap you in the eye

How come MPV doesn't come prepacked with an auto loader like other media players?

>auto loader
Sounds like bloat

Is there any way to set it up to automatically scale to .5x if the video is 1080, but leave 720 alone?
1366x768 is suffering.

autofit-larger

Is that the real answer?

I honestly have no idea what you mean by auto loader.

going off of what that other guy said haha the ability to play from a directory

mpv can open directories

Without Terminal I'm using Windows 10

And I don't get the option to use "open with Mpv"

>being scared of cli
Can't you just drag a fucking folder into the window anyway?

I tried that and MPV just closes which is what has me confused haha

Can't you just right click a file and select a program to open it with on Windows?

MPV doesn't come up as one of the options only VLC and MPC

wasn't loading folders broken on windows until recently?

>Open With > Choose Default program > Browse

Won't work either but the work around I found was just dragging all the files in that directory into MPV
