Are Irish the most butthurt niggers on the planet? Getting offended by a drink?
>Although associated with St. Patrick’s Day in the US as one of its two ingredients is Guinness, do not order a Black and Tan in Ireland.
>Black and Tans is the nickname given to the British paramilitary force, largely made up of English WWI veterans, formed to suppress the Irish Independence movement in 1920 and 1921. The Black and Tans employed brutal tactics in an attempt suppress the Irish Republican Army’s guerilla war, massacring civilians and burning Irish towns. They were called the "Black and Tans" due their khaki military trousers and darker police uniform shirts.
>As a result of their mistreatment of the Irish people, Black and Tan is pejorative term in Ireland and calling someone a Black and Tan is an insult. Ordering a Black and Tan in a pub in Ireland with an American accent might not be taken as insult, but would certainly be considered quite culturally ignorant. To bring it back home, ordering a Black and Tan in today’s Ireland would be like ordering a Red Coat in early 19th century America.
>So this St. Patrick’s Day, order a Half and Half instead. Similar to a Black and Tan, it is half Guinness Stout and half Harp Lager, making it all Irish.
I've heard you can get in similar trouble ordering an Irish Car Bomb at a bar in Ireland. What's with the Irish and having easily hurt feelings?
Isaiah Brooks
I'll just order an Irish Car Bomb instead.
Jaxson Garcia
ive met irish while in canada and they're pretty nice guys, fit in well on the east coast
Jordan Collins
don't make me throw my pencil case at the wall
Aaron Richardson
>getting asshurt over a name What a bunch of fags.
Parker Roberts
>Are Irish the most butthurt niggers on the planet?
yes
Aaron Nelson
Just order it in Irish and they won't get offended because they won't understand what it means.
Connor Clark
You're on point this time, Schlomo.
Leo Green
In all seriousness, though, what have the Irish actually contributed to civilization?
Caleb Stewart
Youd unironically get shot in the knees for ordering a black and tan in the wrong pub in Northern Ireland and the same vice versa for an Irish car bomb.
we have relatives here that were killed via said things, and announcing that you want a black and tan is saying you are a unionist here (even though a black and tan isn't even a drink here it's just some american maymay that they think is irish same as irish car bomb)
for a very very very simple reason it's all too complicated to tell foreigners. but I'd personally knock an american out cold hard on the concrete if he ordered and "irish car bomb" (ive heard stories of americans being told to leave the country or they get shot for doing similar) if he ordered a black and tan I'd get him 20 more free, sit him down to a table and start chatting away to him the history of loyalism.
Jaxon Sullivan
That's like ordering a "Joseph Stalin" in a Polish bar.
Owen Perez
Yeahyeah I know about the Troubles. Though actually it had as much to do with Cold War politics as Libya and the Soviet Union were funding the IRA (note that the Troubles wound down with the Cold War).
Juan Carter
>shooting people over drinks
I've heard people refer to the French as the niggers of Europe, but I think there were a bit Southeast of the mark.
Jace Cook
Nah just trigger happy paramilitary men suffering from PTSD of hearing Irish car bomb
Kayden Walker
That's like ordering an al qaeda in an american bar
Landon Jenkins
Ordering an "Oliver Cromwell" might not be a good idea either.
Elijah King
No it fucking didn't you absolute fool, is this how americans view the world?
A lot of Boston Businessmen donated a lot of money to the IRA.
Bentley Bell
Dude, people might think you're weird but that's all that will happen. For about a year or two after 9/11 you might have gotten beaten up though.
Jason Cruz
>Are Irish the most butthurt niggers on the planet? That is coming rich from you.
Nathan Robinson
>No it fucking didn't you absolute fool, is this how americans view the world? You Squidding me? Qadaffi funded every terrorist group on the fucking planet until Reagan sent a cruise missile down his pie hole. >A lot of Boston Businessmen donated a lot of money to the IRA. That was true and I never claimed otherwise.
Wyatt Gray
We need to come up with an Omar Shooter people can order at Gay Bars for more topical butthurt.
Samuel Howard
Qadaffi did fund them but it doesnt mean The Troubles was about The Cold War Literally trying to tell me about my country when 99 percent of us didnt give a flying fuck about The Cold War.
The Troubles was not a fucking proxy war just fuck off before I kneecap you
Parker Cruz
>Reagan killed Gaddafi
Jesus fucking Christ, America.
Dominic Foster
>Reagan killed Gaddafi
I said that where?
Sebastian Moore
Hes a nutjob conspiracy theorist trying to tell me a war in my country that erupted over centuries of sectarian, cultural and political tensions was merely a proxy war.
Josiah Mitchell
>Qadaffi did fund them but it doesnt mean The Troubles was about The Cold War
In the strict sense, no, it was an ancient blood feud that various third parties decided to exploit for their own political reasons.
Brody Ortiz
Top fucking lel. You are utterly delusional
Jason Brooks
Kind of like the Balkan Wars, also a bunch of ancient feuds that we basically exploited and egged on because of wanting to build an oil pipeline in the region.
Robert Walker
Actually...the KGB started supplying arms to the IRA in 1972 in what was known as Operation SPLASH, using the Communist Party of Ireland as an intermediary. Eventually the OIRA established ties with Czechoslovakia and North Korea for weapons and training. The KGB did not directly supply Soviet weapons, but rather they came from Czechoslovakia or other countries; this was to make Soviet involvement less obvious. IRA leaders were for the most part strongly inclined to socialist and Marxist ideologies and one of the leading Provisional IRA commanders, Brendan Hughes, was an ardent Socialist and believed he was fighting for a Socialist Republic, and all the Republican parties in the North have a left-leaning tendency(for example, Sinn Féin, the political wing of the PIRA, was an advocate of Democratic Socialism), though the non-violent SDLP is less radical in this regard.
In terms of geopolitics, the IRA were mostly opportunists who would ally with anyone willing to support their cause; so Germany pre-1945 and Moscow thereafter. There were definitely considered to be overtones of Marxist class struggle of the Irish masses against the Loyalist exploiter class. Although most KGB records have not come to public light, some of them got released during the Yeltsin years which detail KGB interest in the NI conflict and the IRA's Marxist leanings.
Andrew Scott
>just fuck off before I kneecap you
Say that to my face and not online and see what happens, kid.
Carter Miller
If he's from Belfast, I'd definitely be willing to bet on him and not you in a bar fight.
Adam Cook
I'm a Navy SEAL, and I have over 300 confirmed kills. I can take on you and him with one hand.
Nolan Moore
Holy shit, you people are literally worse than our niggers. Fucking pathetic lmao.
Carter Morris
I drank guinness two days ago, absolutely disgusting. I like Ireland though (only North Ireland).
Logan Myers
Too late. He's not in the thread anymore.
Ian Ramirez
Moscow funded the PLO as well back in the day. 90s onward they were mostly supported by Iran.
