The NSA has several backed up copies of all my data, past and present. If my HDD ever fails I'll just contact them for a copy.

You belong on Sup Forums if you don't backup regularly. It means you don't have important files like secret keys, and thus don't actually do anything with your computer.

If you need backup get Acronis. Unless you're tinfoil hat fuck boi

hi chuck

A DIY difference copy program for online backup, and I just zip up the entire work folder for monthly backups since it's only 5 gigs or so.

basically the only data i have on my system that is irreplaceable is my CV and even then I need to rewrite that some time. i'll be alright OP

make a raid 0 array.
this way it stores your files on two or more drives and when one of them fails, they array can rebuild the missing data because half the file is still there.

Client PC's get backed up once a day automatically by my Server
I use Macrium Reflect to manage the Server backups. Server is attached to a UPS and the data is on a Raid 5 and Raid 1 array(s)
Server System image + Client Backups + Data is backed up to two NAS units (data is split tween them both). Core data + Sys Image + Client backups are backed up a 2nd time to a 3TB external drive. External drive and Nas units are turned off when not in use.

It ain't you

After I digitized my life, I had to adopt a strict backup regimen. I now have 1 on site bavkup, 2 off site backups and one encrypted cloud backup. I use 5TB 2.5" HDDs because they are very portable. Luckily my data is pretty static so i can use split archives with parity for eliminating bit rot and get that sweet sweet xor action in case of both partial or total failure.

get back to your shed, charles

you better back up it up, before you get rakt up it up!
