A good alternative to utorrent?

A good alternative to utorrent?
Thanks.

qbitorrent

Deluge

I'm actually making my own terminal based torrent client in C. So keep on a lookout for that.

...

uTorrent 1.8.4

how's flud on desktop actually?

Awesome.
Nice.
Good, thanks.
OK, good.
> I'll try qbitorrent.

Excelent choice

>qBitTorrent
If you want to add search engines so you don't have to search for torrents in a browser. Overall a very good alternative to uTorrent.
>Transmission or picoTorrent
If you want something minimal.
>Deluge
A nice alternative if you're on windows.
>rTorrent
the best option overall if you want the best performance possible. Only on Linux.
>Tribler
Uses tor network to mask your connection. Supports "channels" and you can easily make your own with custom torrents. They are used to quickly sort through (mostly) video torrents. Supports streaming.
>FrostWire
Similar to the old LimeWire. Has a search engine for movies, songs, images and documents/apps. Has a built-in media player.

Remember to activate the search bar, it's a usefull feature many other torrent clients lack.

uTorrent 2.2.1 is the best torrent client for Windows ever until qBittorrent fixes their shit (no ETA in sight).

Tixati.

Nothing else.

>STALLED

Deluge is in debian-main and has daemon, curses, and webui modes. If your version of Python's Twisted library is new enough for IPv6 it's by far the best client.

Solid choice, ignore the shitposters and their FUD.

qbittorrent

Enjoy getting banned from private trackers.

Picotorrent is pretty new and is meant to be like old school uTorrent. It's very rudimentary and basic.

Then there's Deluge, Transmission, rTorrent, qStalledMeme, Halite.

I'd avoid Tixati as it's interface is pretty ugly, is closed source and will get you banned on private trackers due to user agent spoofing being built in.

Guess you could also use an older version of uTorrent, but it could open you up to malware/hacking, like 1.8.4/1.8.5, 2.0.4, or 2.2.1

Deluge
[/thread]

PicoTorrent

>being a ratio cuck
lol

fpbp

unironically free download manager.

uTorrent 2.2.1 has no malware and has no exploits

>not being on ratioless trackers
Who's the cuck now?

>people are actually responding to this thread

rTorrent

...

Show me 2.2.1 source code so I can see if it has malware or potential exploits.

>it's not open source, therefore it has malware and exploits
That's not how it works...

What are you talking about?

qBitorrent is great. It just hit a big update and looks a bit nicer now too.

There's an old-ass bad meme going around when people will reply to qBit recommendations saying the torrents stall. There was one short-lived version where a bug happened that caused existing torrents to stall, but that was ironed out and was from an ancient version anyway. Ignore the shitposting.

>I claim there is no malware or exploits
>doesn't show the source
That's not how it works. I'm not saying it should be libre (GPL/MIT whatever), just give me it's source so we can confirm. Unreal engine 4 is proprietary open source, and I have no issues with that.

why did the thread kept going after this?

This desu

>I claim there is no malware or exploits
Actually, I'm replying to the person who baselessly claimed that uTorrent 2.2.1 had malware and exploits. See: So whoever made that claim is being retarded.

Because qBittorrent is a buggy piece of shit with incompetent developers

probably this thing

This. Last version (4.0) might be a bit buggy though.

4.0.1 seems to have fixed them all.

Has several RCE

It was not even qbittorent iself it was due to a buggy library.

?

Literally every qBittorrent version is buggy

No way lol

This if you wanna run a seedbox.

* qBittorrent
* Halite
* Picotorrent
* Deluge
* Transmission

This is what I use sometimes. My only issue with it is that even if you uncheck some files, parts of them will download anyway.

That's how torrents work.

You could also hit the "download sequentially" checkbox.

But uTorrent spies on you, doesn't it?

BeSt

I'll design the logo.

uTorrent 2.2.1

>qBitorrent

but why is it so slow and why do the torrents stall?

Incidentally I started noticing it after Sup Forums started meming about it

>stalled
>force resume
>apparently there ARE seeds and the torrent can finish

so why didn't the fucking client detect this?

>there are actually retards using uTorrent in the last 10 years

Jesus Christ.
Just use QBitorrent.
It works on all operating systems and does everyting you want with no adware.

This is like someone using Internet Explorer in 2010.

Literally doesn't happen.

It only "stalls" while downloading meta data.
You are literally too retarded to use a torrent client my dude.

Happens on my machine(TM)

I have a fast connection too (not American) which qB doesn't utilize nearly as good as uTorrent did

Feels like there's some hidden limit built in with qB

uTorrent :3

>updated to 4.0
>still using 4.0

Why are you lying? What is your agenda here?

this, 7 years and it still just werks

>This is like someone using Internet Explorer in 2010
More like someone using Chrome, it does some shady shit but it works unlike QBitorrent

uTorrent 2.2.1.
If you can't use that, then uTorrent 2.0.4
If you can't use that, then uTorrent 1.8.5.
If you can't use that, then uTorrent 1.6.1

Not much choices other than those unless you want the hassle of running rTorrent on Linux. You can use Deluge (daemon) as a secondary client for torrents over 1TB that uTorrent can't handle, but you should really be running 2.2.1 as your main.

QBittorrent stalling isn't something that he made up
Just google 'stalled torrent' 300k results, of which the first few pages are almost exclusively about QB.

maybe use google

this.

btw anyone having issues with speed on qbitorrent, I have a fix.
This piece of shit version keeps crashing. (v4.0.1)

i'm using 2.2.1

deluge

I like ktorrent.

+1 for Transmission. Great bare bones client. Only issue I know of is taking a while to start up on Windows
