They are both pretty good. I guess.

Both are equals.
France is a bit more relevant in some aspects, like international relevancy and diplomacy thanks to its very long existence and influence, contrary to Italy, which is a very recent country.
But otherwise, there arent many differences, even if we like to spit at each other.
I hope italians won' shitpost, because daily reminder that Italy owes its independance to the french who defeated the Austrians in 1859.

Greece

Italy is the only with god-tier architecture comparable to France hence the thread

>let's settle this one and for all
>thread pops up every week
Answer: neither/both
we're sister nations, i'll never defame or look down upon italbros

> Implying that's not god tier architecture

Architecture-wise i like France better. Art as depictions meh, it depends on what century/currents you consider. Same for music.
A life isn't enough to try all the Italian dishes, same for France's, impossible to answer. History-wise France (as the "institution" named "France") surely has a long interesting history. If we consider the mere chunk of land, i'd say italy.

> implying thats not god tier too

Yeah, plus you can't be objective when it comes to taste and interests, that's why i believe it's a non issue to try and pitch us objectively against each other.
A better question would be: which one do you personnaly prefer

France Italy France Both

Bump

History - Italy

You simply can't beat Rome.
So interesting.

Food italy
Weather france
Military france
Economy france
Culture both great
Total france

>Weather france
lolwut a quarter of the country is uk tier

unless you count overseas territories

It's a tough question to answer.
both nice

Completely hard to answer. I like both countries. If you added Germany/UK, I would say France/Italy much better. Choosing between them is hard as fuck.

Italy. it's still white.

The real question is why didn't we unify yet ? Spain and Portugal welcomed.

Can south Italy not come ?

oh shit

>weather france . lol.

it's your country in any way related to fruit salad?

he won't get this

I would rather visit Italy again, but I'd pick France to actually live in over Italy

>tfw Chambord inspired by Italian renaissance architecture

>tfw i get the joke
italy best bros

France is to the United States what Italy is to France.

France is better. What's left of it at least...

i wish. The difference nowadays is not that much, sadly...

Most of early renaissance castles are inspired by Italian architecture, since renaissance come from Italia mate
(renaissance = re-birth, so re-discovering of antic civs, Roman and Greek, mostly).

Hispania is the best, every non Iberian is sub human.

That's some funny stuff

Architecture = equal

Music = honestly, Idk. Both great in the past and both shit today?

History = Italy win of course. We can't beat 2700 years of seniority, and Rome (with Greece) is just the base of the West civilisation.

food = I fucking love pizza and pasta, but also charcuterie and baguette, so both? (again, I know)

So overall, you'd say the Italians are superior?

Yes, and I include the UK in the "inferior to Italy" countries.

Taking a dig at the UK for no reason.

Based butthurt Froguex

Always present for you, my complicated over-the-sea relationship.

*kisses you*

t-that's too much

I vote France

...

About the same, sister countries

>Following the motto "Only Paris is worthy of Rome; only Rome is worthy of Paris";[112][113] the only sister city of Paris is Rome.

cute

>architecture
I just love italian one the most, french is beautiful too, but I like italian more, it's more classic, French one is more "medieval-ish".

>music
really don't know, both giants in classical music, and so it's down to personal taste.
Since I'm no expert I'll give a tie.

>art&literature
Both big in this field, same as above.

>science&math
France

>history
If we get Ancient Rome, then I'd say italy, if not definitely France

>food
I don't know since I've only eaten italian stuff.

>Weather
I'd say France, they have more variety I guess (atlantic + mediterranean +continental climate).
Also I hate the humid hotness in northern italy during summer.

>landscapes
I choose Italy

Ironic, considering both cities are huge piles of dogshit.

This questions are too generic to be answered, but to be honest in every of these fields Italy has much more variety, because the different history of each regions.

>architecture
It's a really close tie. Depends on your taste.

>music
Italy by far.

>history
Most glorious: France (if Roman Empire is not included)
Most interesting: Italy

>food
High cuisine: France
Street food: Italy
Home cuisine: tie

You underestimate the variety of France. The difference between our regions is even more pronounced.

Alsace is basically Germany, our South-West is basically Spain, etc. We have mini-copycats of all our neighbours.

>music
>really don't know, both giants in classical music, and so it's down to personal taste.
>Since I'm no expert I'll give a tie.

Italian music is authentic, French music is about poetry.
youtube.com/watch?v=TKDXr_fimQ8
youtube.com/watch?v=mpgyTl8yqbw

For music, most terms used in this field (piano, opera, allegro, soprano, sonata, etc.) are Italian. That should tell you who's the most important.

For literature, we have much more variety and historical importance than Italy--but no French poet comes close to Dante or even Ariosto in terms of width and strength (maybe Victor Hugo... but his taste wasn't impeccable).

For art, Italy dominates easily in classic, but France is ahead in modern (although Italian Futurists were no slouch).

As a germanic french, i'll shut up, for the sake of Italy.

>germanic french

I'm alsatian

"italian music is better"
gojira tho

Okay, valid point

>For music, most terms used in this field (piano, opera, allegro, soprano, sonata, etc.) are Italian. That should tell you who's the most important
That's a convention from the Pré-classical era, since then even the german used their own words to describe Tempi and Instruments.

Also another way to compare the tools to create music :
French Sixth: 7th Dominante, root altered (so a tritone, hard dissonance, the french always finds a way to make things differently)
Italian Sixth: 7th Dominante, no root (suppression of the dissonance, making the chord much lighter, the move is clear enough but simpler)

Now let's compare the results.

Operas in Italian vs. operas in French :)

England is clearly the winner, next question please

They don't tell the same things.

Italian operas tends to tell you a story the best way possible, such as the greek way to build a Mythos.
youtube.com/watch?v=oPy_HwOtumU
It can also be very inaudible (in my opinion to much instruments is a burden to italian music)
youtube.com/watch?v=WDFlHZbz4-0

French operas are much more difficult because of the a-rythmic laguange (I find Rousseau's opinion rather mean toward French opera tho)

AHAHAHAHAHAHA

Tu ne peux pas etre sérieux.

confirmé

the French make better movies.

definitely

>Architecture
italy, because this country has the most beautiful architecture of all times. The Dutch has always been inspired by (italian) Renaissance architecture.
>music
Italy
>history
France, because Italy as state is still young.
>food
I'd say Italy, because French food is really common here too.
>art
Definitely Italy. The most beautiful paintings in the Louvre are Italian or Dutch.
>sience
I'd say France at the moment. However, Italy was the leader in the Renaissance, so I will be neutral in this aspect.
>landscapes
Italy for sure. Nothing can beat the hills of Tuscany.
>weather
I'd stay Italy. Italy just has a hotter climate, which I prefer.

France but italy is pretty goat

I wish we could see Italians are what they are to French : our closest cousins
UK ? Nah
Germany ? Nah
Not even Spain.
Italy, in food, art, litterature, culture, flirting is so close to France.
Also the best weaboos
Which he didn't say it wasn't you daft mongoloid

>Landscapes
Italy is fucking awesome but France has way more variety than Italy does imo
As much as I hate Britanny it's fucking awesome. Same with the swamps in Picardie, or the pyrenees or the Jura.
But northern Italy is definitely top tier

Also speaking of History the different political system medieval and renaissance Italy shat when French Monarchy was getting bigger and bigger is super interesting even if it's a big fucking mess

god made just the right amount of space

>English Channel

>he's not Celto-Germanic

This. Perfect response.

France is huge in music, it's not easy to say italy is better or viceversa.
Even great foreign composers like chopin or liszt went to study in france.

What we can agree on is that england sucks.

Yeah, france has more variaty in landscapes (and weather). But since I love the mountains (especially the alps) I choosed italy.

what do you call it? it's literally the only name for it

...

I'd say it really depends on what century you consider for every area. I'll take literature as an example.

If you ask me: 19th century? I say France.
>De Sade
>Sand
>De Stael

>architecture
Even though I like French architecture, Italy has a much longer and more impressive history
>food
Italy
>history
France
>music
Both shit except for a few classical composers.
I prefer modern day France to modern day Italy. I also prefer French women

>Both shit except for a few classical composers

>all the eurofag asskissing in this thread

absolutely disgusting

>weather france
What are you talking about m8
Italy is basically a huge beach with mountains in the middle
You can basically get any weather you can think of if you travel through Italy

I would agree, except there honestly isnt anything interesting in europe before 750bc outside of Greece.

Language understandability: Italy

This is France's biggest dissadvantage

Italy

>the Roman Empire dissolving and becoming a playground for various Barbarian lords that grab the once-in-a-millennium opportunity to seize true power
>not interesting

Come on.

They're pretty equivalent tbqh

But italy is now far more relevant since she is not invade by niggers and sandniggers.

Italy in all. France is still more revelant in the current year.

bc...

Oops lol

>music, paintings, movies...
Italy
>women
Italy

Italy still got his shit. France is just a country that keeps dreaming about its former shell. We're a thing of the past, and maybe this country will get better once people stop living in denial.
>food
France
>history
France

i give france a 9.5/10 and italy a 10/10

I don't like french food.

>a thing of the past
>former shell
>living in denial

Literally wat are you talking about little negro
