I like this thread!!!!

No Fucking Packages.
>inb4 compile them yourself.
So, what's the point of using a binary distro if I have to compile the shit out of it, better use gentoo if I want compile actually.

>No Fucking Packages.
So make a package, lazy faggot
wiki.voidlinux.eu/Xbps-src

This meme hasn't even been true for ages, literally the only things I've had to compile are specialised stuff like SAT solvers, which will occasionally have a .deb available but even then not every time.

Even if you need to compile 5% of your packages, you're still installing 95% normally, so don't compare it to gentoo.

Does it have more packages than Solus?
Easier to build packages than Solus?

could never get gtkpod to work on Solus...

>go to packages list
>type openjdk-9
>no result
I won't leave debian until they add openjdk9

The logo is fucking cool compared to Arch virgin logo.

how to created usb boot uefi from iso file?

Step 1: Don't be retarded

I considered Void, but I ended up going with Manjaro instead. I was kind of skeptical about how well designed the package manager is and how big the repos are, and already being familiar with AUR, that kind of made it a no brainer for me.

>I won't leave debian until they add openjdk9
>using java in 2017

>no idris package
>no agda package
Can't take it seriously OP

Step 2: If you don't know how to create a bootable USB drive you probably shouldn't be installing Linux anyways.

>no rstudio
>no scheme interpreter

The aur is for skids

I find you're forthright disclosure of outright shilling quite refreshing. Bumping with kudos.

Rstudio is there

Wow. What about all the packages I need

Eff you

Make them yourself, faggot

>no palememe binary
Is this shit for real? The guy should just use arch's repos.

You should stop being gay

I was considering switching to Void until I heard there's no automatic dependency management or something along that line, can some clarify this or how it works?

void+lxqt is comfy af

this is just literally not true

Why should I use this over Alpine

>Alpine
I don't believe that someone is using this distro unironically.

oh look, it's LinuxBSD

why

I GO TO THIS THREAD
AND GET "ALPINE IS A JOKE"
I GO TO FRIENDLY GENERAL
AND GET "VOID IS A JOKE"

GNU + LinuxBSD

void is an out-the-box distro.
alpine is just busybox/linux and you can have compatibility and support problems if you want it as a desktop because of clang+musl.

How many packges does it have at the start of the install?

>void is out of box

I'll stick to gentoo. Jerk

I don't work for free.

with void you have the two worlds, binary and source with all the cflags and cxxflags memes

It doesn't have nano

I like Void a lot but I'm too retarded to learn runit and symlinks just for the sake of one decent distro.

>learn runit
lmao nigger what

>I want a free handout
libcucks are the worst

voidlinux.eu/usage/runit/#examples

It's super easy to use, user.

void: ~400
alpine: ~250

Buy it don't get gentoo street credit and no portage

nevermind that:
>learn symlinks
he needs to learn SYMLINKS nigga, SYMLINKS!

>brb, need to go brush up on my ls skills

Honestly, I always mix up the ln arguments.

Is there MacBook documentation

You dont work at all

>you can have compatibility and support problems if you want it as a desktop because of clang+musl
>muslfags claim this is better than glibc somehow

what other distro officially releases so many isos alternatives like void:
repo.voidlinux.eu/live/current/

First for xbps 0.52 when

That virtualpkg masking feature can't come soon enough. I had to reinstall a few days ago, and having to filter out at this Wi-Fi shit and AMD firmware that I don't need manually was gross.

use slackware

I just installed it on my lenovo miix sg80, it works much better than any other distro (broken display on most distros) but I still ran in some issues.

>missing staging network drivers in the kernel
>grub did not install during setup. it's an uefi only device and hard disk is a mmc card (/dev/mmcblk0). I had to manually use grub-mkinstall and grub-mkconfig after booting directly from uefi shell
