Probably because the devs came up with the stupid decision of choosing the CORNER of videos instead of the MIDDLE to set the xy coordinates:

D3D11 has been the default for as long as it's been in the master branch. As long as you don't accidentally cargo-cult some meme setting like gpu-context=dxinterop, you should get D3D11 by default.

Less cruft. Most of the unmaintainable bad code has been removed, like the internal codecs and demuxers, w32codecs, codecs.conf, gmplayer, slave mode, ancient drivers for dead platforms (VIDIX,) and so on.

The cruft has been replaced with useful shit, like a high quality GPU-API-agnostic video renderer, a real embedding API, flexible hwdec interop.

Current nature of vulkan makes it impossible to accurately display timings, client programs need vulkan devs to create a new extension to measure that. I think stats display aggregate time spent by parallel jobs for creating a frame for vulkan (and some opengl drivers), rather than actual time delta between two displayed frames. So I wouldn't call that a bug but displaying a different kind of stat.

According to the stats when I use SSimSuperRes mpv ignores my cscale setting and uses scale=ewa_lanczos (rgb). Is it normal?

I noticed that too, there is no cscale line, but there is some "remainder pass" instead.
