How do you backup your files, Sup Forums?

Clone the partitions with Clonezilla from time to time onto HDDs on the shelf.

mkfs.ext4 and start anew once shit's fucked.

nice~
are system-image backups viable?

I rarely need to use them, but they work.
The one time I had trouble was a netbook with 7, Xp and Mint being on a single drive of which Xp failed to boot(froze at the welcome screen) after a restore.
Not sure what went wrong there.

Also cloned a 10 install before trying the Falls creator update which ended up missing drivers and had to be restored to the old version.

thanks~

bunch of zip folders in self email limbo.

rsynced onto a second computer, and occasionally onto an external drive too. I used to actually sort out a small subset of my stuff (documents, my password manager database, etc) and burn it to discs, too, but I've been too lazy to do that for quite some time.

I pop them on my external wd drives

I embed all my data in jpeg files and then upload them to google photos

Separate partitions on both laptop and desktop and ethernet synchronization every time I'm gonna fuck up something

Time Machine + weekly rsync to local from Linux box.

Shits slick. Miss the starfield when recovering files though.

External drives for important stuff

I should pickup and learn cron but I am too lazy.
This setup does the job for the time being.

i have a box of loose drives filled with my files. If I want to back something from my main PC, I just connect it via USB and copy it to whatever drive has enough space.

I just startup from a USB stick to revert to a backup with rsync.
