maaachhhiiiiii!!

My favorite Linux distro is MacOS

I've seen so many people talking about Windows lately. Is it summer in India or something?

litteraly who

Recently got into BunsenLabs. Did I do good Sup Forums?

Fucking barely linux, not even running the mainline kernel

lolololol

My phone is Android

Jokes on you, I'm running on OSX

feels comfy brap

>ricer shit
You too

It's dead
When I started with Linux it was great, got Debian with the look that I wanted and made it really easy to navigate as a former window user. However, you can just get Debian and install the programs and packages that are included in Bunsen yourself

>> muchin Sup Forums

post machis belly

I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.

Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is widely used today is often called "Linux", and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project.

There really is a Linux, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use. Linux is the kernel: the program in the system that allocates the machine's resources to the other programs that you run. The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Linux is normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system is basically GNU with Linux added, or GNU/Linux. All the so-called "Linux" distributions are really distributions of GNU/Linux.

a desktop thread fucking finally

cute

...

it's not linux at all, it's BSD

>he thinks the majority of people on Sup Forums uses linux

This

I'm using it to revive an old laptop, since mine broke and i was left with this one. I was looking for a lightweight distro and stumbled upon Bunsen, looked pretty cool, so gave it a try. But its note definitive. Plus its baby's first linux, so I'm stil learning. thinking about goig to mint, or ubuntu, cause i heard they 'just werk'. but i'm open for suggestions.

Android isn't the GNU/Linux operating system commonly referred to as Linux it just uses the Linux kernel

oh my god this has to be bait
i will kill myself unironically if this is not bait

You can't tell me what to do loonix fag

mac os or as i have recently started referring to it gnu/linux/macos

GNOME 2/MATE Gentry reporting

I LOVE GNOME 2

OP never mentioned GNU/Linux or as Stallman recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux tho

mint is for faggots
just use ubuntu

earth is flat btw, spaceballs don't exist

Ubuntu sells your data. Use Manjaro if you want an entry level distro.

>spaceballs don't exi-

this

I phonepost on my iphone

>Sup Forums is solely a computer discussion board
Just fuck off already

Ok, kiddo.

Now, piss off!

Let's be inclusive, now. The *BSDs and other autismos (like the handful of people using Haiku, Solaris derivatives, etc.) are welcome, too!

But I am and also

If you use Linux, you don't belong on Sup Forums.

lmao, I am an idiot

considering both actually. probably going to create live usbs this weekend and give them a shot. thanks Sup Forumsuys

Use Ubuntu, ignore everyone else

Just remember than Ubuntu sells your data to Amazon.

My phone is running a distro called Android.

Why linux? how about unix or unix like in general

Because Unix is non-free. Fucking Applefags.

what about libertyBSD?

>he uses a DE

get a load of this redditor

I didn't say there is anything wrong with Unix-like.

Have any of you even read "Major Linux Problems on the Desktop"?

>le bad font rendering meme

that isn't unix like.

its unix philosophuy

Yes it is. It's just OpenBSD without the non-free shit.

>Watching TimeRanger with TV-Nihon subs

I can accept that you use Mint and even respect it, but at least have some dignity and choose better subs/translations for the stuff that you watch.

over-ti.me/releases/future-sentai-timeranger/

Cool I couldn't find any desktop threads so I'll just leave this here

Fuck you windows users

lol bsd is better than linux

>Using Arc
>Top bar/panel still has that shadow that can't be removed
>Launcher bar doesn't change its texture and color to follow the flat style of Arc
>Ubuntu icon in the launcher bar gets fucked up when changing themes
Fucking Unity, I really like the workflow that it offers but ricing it feels like a hack.

>>used to sell your data
Fixed

Canonical still does it.

Take your backwards cunt back into hell you shitlord

...

It's called gnu/linux. Go back to /r/linux you reddit nigger

its just linux

God i want to put my hot load inside your mother

wtf delet this

bibbity bibbity this is microsoft you have wiruses

OwO

>linux
isn't that some kind of crazy communist techno-cult? no thanks.

but i do

>only mastering a single type of OS

If you work in anything but programming, using linux sucks balls.

rude

>mfw the only successful distribution of linux is a non-libre one

Unity is made by Canonical, what are you expecting.

>archtard
>dark-like-my-soul theme
>shitty icon pack from deviantart or some other shithole for baby ricers trying to pretend to be tasteful
>four virtual desktops and nothing open but a web browser
>vmware screen capture

>this tech illiterate retard who probably had a wiki holding his hand through every phase of the installation and ricing process on this VM that's undoubtedly running on Windows or a Mac is telling anyone else they don't belong on a technology board

I have a HIDPI screen
All linux envs are unusable with HIDPI screens
years behind Windows as always

sheeeiiit my nigger

what is this place Sup Forums ??
do i belong here ??

i'm too addicted to ffxiv to quit windows completely

Salut Jean-Pierre

wtf does that label say? Property of cern?

manjaro is comfy

Well it is Linux based at least...

>using arch with a DE
oh is this babby's first install? and let me guess, now that you finally installed you had to post this telling everyone else to gtfo? nice

>1366x768
Stop being poor, microcuck.

Use MXlinux if you're new to linux. Ubuntu/Mint is trash.

you don't use a DE?

Do you just do everything from the command line?

just i3 (gaps, of course)

>probably going to create live usbs this weekend
just use virtualbox to try them

>telling someone who is new to GNU/Linux to use a rank 20 distro
you are what wrong with the community

that's kinda what i want to do with my thinkpad after i libreboot it. i like i3

it manjaro worth switching from mint? I am a linux virgin.

do what you gotta do its part of your journey to go distro hopping anyway

Sagely advice, i will give it a go.

>telling someone who is new to GNU/Linux to use a rank 20 distro
Rank 4th on distrowatch actually.

fuck you, communist
