Non-native burger, here. First time on this board.
I am of the brown Asian variety and within a month I will be living in a metropolitan Japanese city teaching English for at least a year. I took a year's worth of Japanese in high school, enough to recognize/read katakana and hiragana as well as basic questions and phrases.
I enjoy wandering and getting lost in new places and getting drunk. Any tips?
Do are Japanese people amused when I attempt to speak to them in their language? Can I bow without seeming ironic? How do I sneeze? When is it acceptable to discuss Unit 731? What must I never do?
