HP Elitebook 850 G4

X62.

one of those modded chinkpads that have an old shell and newer parts inside.

t61p

big tiddy goth gf

This.

Something with a dedicated GPU

System76 Oryx Pro, custom designed.

Assuming the performance would keep up, I'd go with a 13" MacBook Pro pre-USB-Type-C. the choice is nothing to do with ports, but choice of OS, as well as a better keyboard.

my wife mio is so cute
your laptop choice sucks tho

ur waifoo sucks m8

literally

delet this right now

The last 15-inch dual graphics MacBook Pro that came before USB-C and Touchbar.

2017 Spectre 15"

Probably a thinkpad T60 with libreboot.

your stupid

raven ridge thinkpad w/ 14" fhd ips screen.

hopefully it has the dual battery thing of the t440/450s

Nice choice my dude.

...

Clearly not an ancient thinkpad. Maybe something that eats current macbook pros for breakfast.

I would choose my Lemote Yeelong.

My librebooted X60s does actually feel really comfy.
Putting Slackware on it definitely was a great choice.

My stupid what? You forgot to finish your post

If the laptop is somehow invincible to regular wear and tear then it'd be a surface but that's only - ONLY because I use it for drawing as an artist.

Photoshop's still compatible with ancient psd's from literally 25 years ago so if I could get another 25 years out of CS6 then I'm golden.

If not then I dunno some chinkpad where I can replace all the parts when I want.

Literally the same one or just the same model?

Libreboot T/W500

given it's able to keep up for the rest of time, this is the only right choice.

>going for that ebyn aesthetic look
>not ibm
top rer

macbook pro 2040 but without the mandatory implant

Apple Macbook Pro 2015

One Word:
Lemote Yeelong Pro

Thinkpad x201

460 yoga

Thinkpad T60.

dell xps 14 l421x

Do they sell T60 15.6" replace ment parts with the IBM logo on them? That would be neat.

Acer predator 21X

X220 it's really comfy

Prob a t430s with top specs.

The top of the line laptop from 40 years from now, that way by the time I'm retirement age it will still be up to date.

Lenovo p71

2015 MacBook Pro 15" with SSD and Radeon R9 M370X.

Freedom thinkpad with 8-10 hours

coreboot x230 with classic keyboard

Thinkpad P52S probably

>two milk shakes
but why

gee bill!

Same

>using laptops
Fucking normies

No, normies just use their phones instead now

My 2010 13" MacBook Pro. It still works pretty fuckin well for being over 7 years old.

if that's yours user you should go ahead and post pape pls

This guy knows what's up. Libreboot it and toss on some autistic distro like Xubuntu, Trisquel or Arch.

If its for the rest of your life they're all going to be equally useless. You won't even find replacement parts for any machine in 15 years anyway so, dumb fucking question. Either get a workstation-class ThinkPad or a MacBook Pro. The only laptops ever worth buying anyway.

xps 13. in my experience dells have the best battery life.

Newest 15 inch retina macbook pro
> most powerful laptop by it's dimensions/weight
> 4c/8t i7 7700HQ (tubo up to 4.1GHz)
> Radeon Pro 560 4GB
> 16GB 2133MHz RAM
> 2TB PCIe SSD
> gorgeous 16:10 IPS display
> 2880x1800
> great aluminium build quality
> best laptop speaker ever
> best trackpad ever
> four thunderbolt 3 ports (capable of 160Gb/s i/o throughput, biggest ever on any laptop)
> 76Wh battery
> runs every major OS available (official Windows drivers from Apple + Great linux support)
> new models (2016+) doesn't throttle anymore
> enough horsepower to last 6 or more years
That would be it. I can live with the shitty keyboard and memebar.

Sup Forums is full of fat fucks

Thinkpad W520.

gainz fag

Same. I love mine.

T470s

X230, really comfy

iPad pro with smart keyboard and apple pencil.

Thinkpad W510

Haha. I got to tell you some people are crazy attatched to Apple its absurd.
My old man is STILL using his iPad 2. He complains because the ebay app runs like a dog nowadays, and we even gave him a better tablet (Galaxy Tab S 10.5), but he absolutely refuses to use it.

this
with classic keyboard mod

Panasonic Toughbook CF-19

I can't upgrade after 15 years? Wtf Sup Forums

Doesn't matter as long as it's windows

Acer Aspire 5349.

>fuck you and your chinkpad bullshit

A Let's Note CF-RZ6

>Libreboots laptop
>Uses Windows 98

That better be riced XCFE or W98 running on a VM
If not, whats the fucking point, i don't fucking understand

>falls apart before planned obsolescence

MacBook Pro

It's a rice.

Sure!

I'm not sure a Librebooted device could even boot anything related to Microsoft.

lewd.pics/f/c9ec2b60/2017-12-02--1512222843_1680x1050_scrot.png

Can I also use a desktop or will it be the only computer I ever get to use?

I really like my X220T, but it could definitely be better. I'd want something with free hardware or libreboot support, but preferably a higher resolution screen than in the X220T, so it's tough to pick. There might not be anything satisfactory. If I can be promised that the laptop I pick will get libreboot support, maybe I'd just pick a somewhat new ThinkPad or Elitebook.

That's going to age like milk. It may be more wise to get something with the ability to attach an external GPU, or something that lets you replace the dGPU inside, like an 8770w.

Nothing autistic or libre about Xubuntu or Arch...

Dell Precision M6800 maxed out spec-wise.

The nub and three mouse buttons are comforting, but that numpad fucks everything up.

Thinkpad W520

That's why the M4800 exists, but I'd prefer the M6800 for the storage expansion (3 2.5" bays + mSATA slot).

If I'm gonna be stuck with the same machine for life I want some storage, dammit.

X1 Carbon

The size is fine, but I don't want a numpad and it just puts the keyboard off-center anyway.

It's a rice.

You can see the multi-workspace icon on the far right side of the taskbar.

Maxed out X220

Latitude 7480

HP pavilion dv6 so i can stay warm in the winter

As much as I like to type on my T420 I have to pick my workplace's MacBook Pro.

t430 because I like my two buttons on the trackpad with the backlit chicklet

x220 with an IPS screen

W530
