>downgrade firefox
>business as usual batch downloading furry porn

finished your story op

Upgrade to waterfox

>he doesn't know

set extensions.legacy.enabled to true

Either
1) Use FF56
2) Use ESR/FF52

Find an alternative. Downgrading is NOT an option.

>Find an alternative.

They're all shit/not alternatives.

Waterfox is an upgrade, because it's objectively an improvement.

Then just deal with it by downloading manually, and enjoy the much better browsing experience.
Waterfox is temporary.

Jdownloader2 nigga

>Then just deal with it by downloading manually
Nope, too much effort.

>and enjoy the much better browsing experience.
I don't feel like being a guinea pig for a newly released browser.

Come back when JDownloader 2 has something like DownThemAll Anti-Container.

>I don't feel like being a guinea pig for a newly released browser.
It's not testing, you idiot. The old add-ons are PERMANENTLY gone, they're never coming back

Down them all is the only add-on keeping me from updating though. I use it far too much to give it up. The alternatives really are shit

Go get Basilisk
from palemoon devs
basilisk-browser.org/

>It's not testing, you idiot.
Just because they do insufficient testing and call their released product "tested" doesn't mean they're not just continuing testing on the general populace.

>The old add-ons are PERMANENTLY gone, they're never coming back
Funny thing, there were supposed to be some WebExt APIs that were promised to make those add-ons portable.

Guess I'll wait for them to fulfill their promise.

>Just because they do insufficient testing and call their released product "tested" doesn't mean they're not just continuing testing on the general populace.
What is broken in 57? Mind giving us a list?

For me it's that, TabMixPlus, and Session Manager.

For example
reddit.com/r/firefox/comments/7g6k9n/firefox_quantum_is_eating_your_cpu_help_us_debug/

>We now have a flock of bugs reported by various users about Firefox Quantum causing high CPU usage and/or resulting in high battery drain.

You realize that's the case in every version of every browser ever made, right?

>every version of every browser ever made

Except it's not. Rarely has it ever been such a problem for a version that they pinned a message about it to /r/firefox.

Blame the lazy dev that can't keep promises
>I can release a beta version for early adopters/testers in 2-3 weeks and then 1-2 weeks after that a stable full release.
>posted on Nov 10th

Explain

Oh and it's also a complete rewrite. Who knows how many of the original features it will support.

See one of his earlier posts
downthemall.net/re-downthemall-and-webextensions-or-why-why-i-am-done-with-mozilla/

Mozilla won't build the APIs he needs, so originally he decided to just shutdown the project.

Then after the outpouring of people who asked him to continue, he changed his mind and decided to build a gimped/"lite" version instead. At this point I doubt he has much motivation to continue it.

Are you 12? It's not that uncommon. Sometimes you have to break backwards compatibility to move forward.

I already know. I was just being facetious with the lazy dev thing.
It's really Mozilla's fault for pushing changes that no one who stuck with their increasingly shitty browser over the years specifically for the add-ons wanted.

>Sometimes you have to break backwards compatibility to move forward.

It's not about breaking backwards compatibility, it's about rushing a browser release and not achieving feature parity with your prior version because of it.

>I don't feel like being a guinea pig for a newly released browser
Are you high? You're literally in here complaining about a recent upgrade breaking your shit. You're already a guinea pig dumbass. Or do you legitimately think keeping the same brand name somehow makes it the same browser? If so, I've got some New Coke to sell you.

I didn't take the upgrade, and none of my shit is thankfully broken because of it. I would have been a guinea pig had I decided to take the upgrade.

It's the only thing stopping me using quantmeme

>the best browser ever made by far
>meme

I updated from the LTS to nu-Firefox
I lost my history, my NoScript settings were trashed and won't stick any longer. The performance is shit, its fucking 100x worse than the old firefox. Suck my fucking cock you stupid faggots, this is why you have 13% market share. Compiling Chromium as we speak and when its done I will forget that I ever used this shit browser.

With dTa anti-container, you could easily write a few snippets of JS to parse out the posts of a page/gallery/site you're on, navigate to those posts and gather URLs of any resources you wanted to download, and then start downloading them in a DL manager with rate-limiting. You could have done it in Greasemonkey, but writing the code to tie it all together is extra work.

With JDownloader plug-ins that's a hell of a lot harder to do because the plug-in development documentation is old/shit (2013), and it's all in Java. So you have to render pages/run JS on your own, deal with logging in/authentication and cookies/HTML storage, deal with any visual annoyances/captcha blocks, and any other miscellaneous bullshit issues that come up with completely automated web browsing.

The gist is that it's easier to write plugins for a semi-automated downloader (e.g. where you can use a browser to log in/solve captchas/setup state) than write plugins for a fully-automated downloader.

piracy is illegal. you dont have rights to save those images.
Soon all images, videos, and websites themselves will have drm to keep you pirates from ruining peoples livelihoods.

>muh best browser meme
>takes away the only reason Firefox has been half decent lately
Like it or not, Mozilla sharted over plenty of people and deserve some flack for it for fucking with add-ons.

You wouldn't download a mall...

Of course Waterfox will be discontinued since it's meant to be Firefox but with legacy support, tolerable not minimalist GUI and no telemetry.

I look forward to the new "browser" the creator plans to come up, btw.

Write your own scraper brainlet.

This

Morons reliant on curry af plugins have no right to complain when mozilla rightfully drops their asses

There's an extension called Download Star that works reasonably well as a replacement.

>I look forward to the new "browser" the creator plans to come up, btw.
Spoiler: it'll be shit.
There, just saved you a bunch of anticipation.

2 questions:
1 - On Waterfox, does holding down the back button show you a history menu?
2 - On regular FireFox, how do you disable the annoying as fuck, retarded history menu that appears when you hold down the back button?

Do those have the retarded fucking history menu that appears when you hold down the back button?

>having botnetthemall
kys

A botnet mall?

Sounds like a pretty neat concept for a movie or something, tbqfh.

holy shit this is amazing

Download Star extension:
addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/download-star/

Things Mozilla did wrong:
>Moving too quickly and releasing Quantum without 6-8 months of testing and working with addon developers to ensure compatible addons are released straightaway
>Moving webext API extensions to future versions of the browser instead of making sure 95% of uses are covered by the new APIs for the release of Quantum and all of the popular addons are ported

Thing Mozilla did right:
>Finally implementing a sane multiprocess model
>Killing XUL
>Moving high-performance Servo components into Firefox

Moving too quickly? Webextensions have been around since forever and they've said they'd kill XUL also since forever.

I wish someone would come out with a "Retrofox" that went back to an earlier version of FF before they started changing it every few months. WTF.

Pale Moon doesn't have this problem.

Palemoon still maintains old firefox if you need this extension

Heres another thing Mozilla did wrong; they made the fucking back button not operate properly, with no way to fix it. if you hold the back button for more than half a second, a history drop down menu appears instead of actually going back a page. you then have to click the back button twice more to actually go back a page.

So, what browsers are good alternatives to FireFox? Im thinking maybe SeaMonkey; what else is there? I think it should go without saying, but any alternative should be FOSS

>tfw I've accepted the loss and just expand images and ctrl+s when I want to download threads

Option 1) Live without it for a bit
Option 2) Install Firefox ESR (52.5.0)

>Palemoon
Cringe. Censored and corrupt project.

You can probably still find Firefox 3.x downloads floating around

What about this?
addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/Sup Forums-media-downloader/

>they made the fucking back button not operate properly, with no way to fix it. if you hold the back button for more than half a second
Then don't hold it down you fucking retard. Do you not know how to click a button?

>everything new is bad
Literally autism

i need my fucking gestures
god damn sjw's fuck everything up

>experimental

Tried it myself on this page. Works well enough with filtering but you can't designate which folder to put the images in to. It'll just dump everything into a Download Star folder inside Downloads. Not the best solution since I usually bulk download /w/ and /wg/ with specific file naming but it works as a temporary crutch until something better comes along.

pacaur -Syu uget uget-chrome-wrapper
Then just download the addon on Firefox and you're set

>update firefox
>it now crashes on every Save As window invoke

How can I download all media from 420chan porn threads lads

>quantum

Yes you can. There's a "download to" bar at the top.

The only issue I have is that it doesn't have a history of folders you've downloaded to to select from.

Why isn't my 4chanX working in FF 57 any more?

Because you touch yourself at night.

>no option to just right click the page
Wtf

Why can't DTA be ported to WebExtensions?

Well you just left click the button at the top instead.

I hide my nav bar and when it's visible I don't want ugly icons on it.

because, newsflash, FF is shit, compile chromium and use the superior appchanX which works natively. One of like a dozen problems I experienced with nu-Firefox. NoScript is buggy as fuck and anyway umatrix is way better. Make the switch and you'll wonder why you stuck with this shitty netscape fork all the way down to 13% market share

>Down them all

Did you ever donate to them?
downthemall.net/howto/donate/

Maybe if money was being poured in, they would be more keen to keep the project up to date.

> I hide my nav bar
That's stupid.

>not using wget

No it isn't.

Yes it is.

No it isn't.

if i don't pay the paetron porn artists why would i pay the paetron porn downloader

It just started to work again. I don't get it. I just don't know what it started to work again.

>let's give the guy more money
hello shill
