hello Sup Forums im going to college so i need to buy me a nice laptop that hopefully will serve me well for the time spent there.
since i absolutely 100% have to get a laptop and not a rig i've been looking at laptops which i can play my gayms on.
i've come to the conclusion that all these fucking laptops look like absolute MEMES.(pic related)
IS THERE ONE SINGLE LAPTOP THAT can HANDLE GAMES (i7-7700hq and gtx 1060)
WHICH DOES NOT SUFFER FROM 12 YEAR OLD KID SYNDROME? something that doesnt scream IM 12 HEY LOOK AT me, and preferably has a sleek minimalistic design.

if you are ok with a 1050ti, then a Acer aspire 7 would be ok. acer.com/ac/en/US/content/model/NX.GP9AA.001

its basically 7700hq and 1050ti but in a normal acer chassis.

though I would say wait for next year for the possible 8000hq series of laptops and the possible 2000hq ryzen mobile.

had the exact problem as you, buddy

evga sc15 or sc17, but they're expensive as fug and don't even have shit like a card reader and USB-C

alternatively one of the thin Asus laptops g502 or g702, they look a bit gaymer but they're completely flat so it's not too bad

Thinkpad T470P maxed out

ThinkPad with egpu setup

Sup Forums is NOT your personal tech support team or personal consumer review site.

I think it doesn't look that bad without the edgy wallpaper.

rofl look at this nerd shut the fuck up nigga

Msi Stealth and turn off backlight

>Wants a productive laptop
>Wants to game
Enjoy getting dirty looks for bringing your jet turbine to class every day. Also, enjoy your thermal wear and shit battery life.

He's right though. Sup Forums is where we go to argue over what's better and make fun of illiterates.

Speaking of which...

I travel a lot for work and ended up getting the MSI GE62VR. I feel like it's a nice balance and you never hear the fans unless you're gaming which I'm sure you won't be doing in public anyways. The battery only lasts 2-3 hours of normal use.

A friend of mine just bought the Acer Predator Helios 300 and the battery lasted 6-7 hours. It's just as powerful as mine, cheaper in some places, and has a bigger SSD. Even though it looks like that I doubt you'll really be given dirty looks.

Why don't you just get a Thinkpad for taking to class and notes and such and then build a rig for your home use?

Gigabyte Aero 14

>14 inch master race
>gtx 1060
>doesn't look like edgy gaymer bullshit

Why cant you have a rig?
Build a nice rig and keep it in your dorm, get a thinkpad for taking to class

It will even probably be cheaper overall

This looks nice. If I was him I'd get this and just use a monitor once I got back to my dorm/apartment.

OP needs to post a budget for the best help though.

Why the fuck would anyone put their laptop on grass
>wanting to get dirt and ants all up in your fans

Thinkpad T470P

With the current prices of graphics cards? Getting an equivalent system probably won't be along with a laptop. Plus the monitor an everything else. People forget stuff like that assuming everyone has one laying around. He probably won't be able to get everything cheaper than the laptop. I know that Acer predator he's looking at can be found for $1199 some places.

I want to agree but 940mx is too old and slow.
They could have at least fucking upgraded to the pascal equivalent

What places?
It's closer to $1400
Meanwhile you can build a desktop equivalent for like $800 or less

Intel 7700
Nvidia 1060 6gb
1080p screen
256gb SSD
1TB HDD

add in a decent keyboard, mouse, speakers, plus the additional laptop. He COULD go that route but there's also other laptops out there with nearly identical specs for a little cheaper he could get.

When you're calculating the cost of a desktop you are strictly thinking about the tower. Don't assume everyone has those things laying around.

>Intel 7700
Here is the big savings.
The equivalent to that is not say an i7-7700.

Laptop processors are way slower than desktop equivalents. So you could get a lower clocked i5 or even an i3 and still have better performance.

>decent keyboard/mouse/speakers/monitor
You'd want these even for a gayming laptop too if your goal is gayming.

Surprise, that one doesn't come with the SSD.
