my recently deceased dell from 2014 was great see if you can find one pr owned i got it new for £300 so it might be cheap now. it was the dell inspiron n5040. the dvd drive can be swapped for a second hdd bay the ram is apgradeable and the cpu isn't soldered in you can get i5's used cheap on ebay so look for one with a pentium in it

For what purpose? Have you actually used an old laptop? It's a pain in the ass - unless you intend to upgrade the hardware, you are going to be waiting a minute for the browser to open. If you REALLY need a cheap laptop, buy a netbook from China or something.
