Do you have any Muslim friends?

Do you have any Muslim friends?

no

No

Nope there is no muslims here, only protestants and chatolics

Yes

Yes

no

i don't even know a single one

Why don't Americans love Muslims?

I'm Muslim and I have zero Muslim friends. My peer group are all Atheists/Christians.

Then again I don't believe/practice anything Islamic.

3 from Bosnia and 1 (Bosniak) who lives in Austria
>they watch porn
>they drink coca-cola all the time
>they play GTA V online
>they share pics of facebook slags
>they bought me games on steam

if all muslims were like bosniaks, the world would be a not-so-shitty place

How can you be Muslim if you don't believe in Islam?

>>they watch porn
>>they drink coca-cola all the time
>>they play GTA V online
>>they share pics of facebook slags
These are not really considered particularly anti-Islamic things though
MENA is the most region obsessed with porn, for example

A cultural Muslim, like a secular Jew, or a lapsed Catholic

Yes a shit ton, kinda strange being I am an atheist.

Yes, 1. He's from Zanzibar and only believes in Islam because of his recent years of bad health. He claims he doesn't drink alcohol although every time the company goes out for a do he drinks Guinness openly and denies it the next day.

Strange man.

I had a Muslim friend she was very likeable, funny and smart.

Maybe if more people on Sup Forums had Muslim friends we'd have less Islamaphobia. Food for thought.

There's this Paki I'm friends with and we like to make fun of niggers together.

>paki

Muslims are almost inexistent in Brazil.

try any of that shit in Raqqa tho

Shit ton in NYC

>t. Pajeet

No. All the Muslims I ever met were assholes.

yes i had two

Yes. But they arent really religious

>tfw no muslims to be friends with

Make muslims friends online then.

I know someone who has to pretend to be muslim so he doesn't get beaten up on the street by other muslims and disowned by his family, does that count?

>How can you be Muslim if you don't believe in Islam?
Because my parents are Muslim? I was raised Muslim?

I suppose you would call me an Apostate :^)

No one cares Paki

I'm actually Moroccan lol (family are from Fes).

Don't start that Darjia shit though, I never understood how to do it.

I had a feeling it was you Beur

>Beur
Nor me

The only Muslim I know personally is only pretending to keep his parents happy.

Are you half moroccan? how come you don't speak darija?

>half
100% (both parents). I was born/raised here so I can't really do Darija except for speaking and hearing a few basic things. Reading/writing it just gives me a headache.

yes, my boyfriend is a muslim.

Cool m8
hchoma walidik mayriwkch kifach thder bdarija :(

>hchoma
it's rude
>walidik
your children
>mayriwkch
won't be able to
>kifach
understand
>thder
???
>bdarija
darija?

I have a headache now. I don't understand how you guys can do this without any problems. It's like there are no rules or anything.

It sucks - that your parents - didn't teach you - how - to speak - darija

Now that I think about it I should have said "mawrawkch"

>walidik
That means parents? I thought it mean children.

fugg i'm so stupid

My ex-gf was a moslem but we had to break it off when we graduated hs.

walidin is parents, walidik is your parents
Wlad is children, wladek is your children

Kek, vlad.

Darija is so confusing to write. If i lived for 6 months in Morocco, I know my language skills would be OK but I could never understand reading/writing it.

No

Its really easy, the way we pronounce shit makes it very easy

i dont have any friends

I'm Muslim, I do practice, pray every day etc, but I don't really hang out with other Muslims in my free time. I mean, I'll say hi to someone after Jumaa and make 5 minutes of small talk but we don't really "hang out".

I don't even know of any Muslims in their 20s in my community, all the brown millennials are fedora. So most people I see at the masjid are middle aged and it's not like I'm going to have them over to watch netflix.

No

I never had one

easy for you maybe

Are you a convert or born muslim?

You have me

converted in high school

Yes, 3 and they're all Moroccans
one of them is a female and she smokes cigarettes, drinks alcohol, has loads of sex and occasionally eats pork

How come you're on Sup Forums?

Just out of interest what inclined you to do it? Did you miss something in life? I suppose you are from a non-religious background.

>smoking
>random sex
pure degeneracy

There's quite a lot in the Uruguay-RS border

for /mena/ 2bh

I come from a Protestant family and went through a spiritual crisis where I realized Protestantism was bullshit, but I still believed in God, spent a few years heavily researching each of the world's major religions and Islam was just "right" for me, nothing in the world can give you the peace and tranquility you feel after salat

One friend and one acquaintance. The friend is a cool guy that doesn't drink or eat non-halal food and he prays daily, but he's very fun to hang out with and doesn't take himself too seriously. We saw some armoured vehicle driving around our town here the other day as part of a military exercise, and I was like "run up to them and shout "Allahu akbar" and see what happens", and he laughed. That's the kind of humour we have. The acquaintance is very conservative, but the good kind, he doesn't support ISIL or anything, but he's literally a salafi, so it's not like we hang out a lot. I'll strike up a conversation if I run into him though.

Nice mate
I'm a muslim too but I only pray on Friday atm
Used to pray everyday but Sup Forums is a bad influence

Should have picked something more obscure just for the lulz desu. But whatever makes you happy i guess.

I've had kinda the same thing, I realized my Christian god didn't give me shit, and at the same time I liked Islam. I stopped short of converting though, I just didn't feel like I actually believed in my heart, and I didn't want to be a munafiq.

How was converting, did your family disown you? Did you lose your friends? Or did they accept your decision? I can imagine this being a difficult issue in certain parts of the USA.

few muslim friends
few ex-muslim friends

I have sunni fiends and shia friends
But we don't talk about religion so what ever

And yes they know i'm a christian but then again
Muslims are werid some hate ya and some just don't give a shit and some only want to be friends with other muslium.
really weird jokers really.

A muslim girl from Saudi Arabia works in the same research lab as me. Great person, very nice and very smart. She claims to be very religious although ive never seen her pray (Im in the same room as her ~30 hours a week) and she also stopped practicing Ramadan halfway through the month because of "stress". She also dresses like everyone else, you wouldnt even know she was foreign if it wasnt for her skin color, accent, or how she decorates her apartment.

Oddly enough she supports Trump

Most of them are

Did she tell why she supports him?

Yes plenty, nearly all of my hometown friends are.
Awesome people, most of them are at least not religious although many are atheists and antitheists.

Really fun, open minded, good and cool people who like to get wasted and smoke.

Then again I'd really deport a few people from here to Turkey or wherever the fuck they want to go preach their shit.

There's a small minority of immigrants who come into this country and disown the others and try hard to be American/white. I know many people from the African continent who hate nigger culture and are voting Trump

What ethnicity are you? Croat?

Well, when I first reached my decision (around 15-16yo) I hid it from my family - I didn't have a car so I couldn't get myself to the mosque in town, I just watched youtube videos to learn how to pray at home and bought a paperback qu'ran to read. Age 17 I told my father, who was not religious and said he didn't care, but my heavily protestant mother was enraged and said I was not allowed to visit the mosque until I was 18, but I would have my (non muslim white) friends drive me there anyway and drop me off, they thought it was just me being quirky and that it wouldn't last.

Eventually I moved out and legally changed my name at age 24, several months later told my mother and younger siblings (by then my parents had divorced and I had no contact with my father and never bothered to tell him). My mom has become less religious with time and now accepts it, calls me by my new name, and we openly discuss Islamic culture and if I stop by her house after jumaa wearing a thobe she doesn't even mention it.

Friends never cared I always associated with more liberal minded people anyway, plus I'm not overly strict, I still smoke weed a lot, and if it's time for salat I just excuse myself and disappear for a few minutes instead of making a big scene

Yes actually. Her family lives in Mecca and they were literally just a couple of blocks away from one of the ISIS attacks on a mosque a few months ago. She sees Trump as the best way for ISIS to be dealt with quickly. She also highly dislikes Clinton and has told me verbatim: "I would rather have an asshole as a leader than a liar". Granted she isnt a citizen and is only here on a student visa but I still find it strange.

>wearing a thobe
wew lad, you know you can pray in jeans right?

I do wear American clothes to the mosque about 80% of the time

I dont think you need to change your name. Most islamic names have a christian pendant.

Ramadan?

Friends, no.
Acquaintances, yes.

A Muslim Sudanese immigrant sells my friend weed sometimes. He's pretty chill I guess.

You aren't required to unless your name has a negative meaning, which mine did. I kept my surname the same though.

What was it

If I may ask, what did you change your name to? Did you have a reason behind it, or did you just choose a "generic" Islamic name?

Yes, did you guess or did you suppose somehow?

Was your name satan or something?

If you converted to islam would you be bosnian?

Yes

...

Ahmad, because it's easy/recognizable for Americans to pronounce. It took me years to settle on that, I experimented with longer ones like Sulaiman, Shamsaddin and Abdas-Salam, but that would just result in other white folks (95% of the people I see daily) not able to say it and making up a stupid shortened nickname.

Why not younes? Or isa?

yes but I still dislike islam and regard african and arab and paki and afghan and iranian muslims as a threat.

Isa is too stereotypical for ex-Christians plus it did not sound good in combination with my surname, but I did briefly consider it

So your friend is a turk?

Damn Schwabo, that question is a Pandora's box.

Do you mean Bosnian (person from Bosnia; not an ethnicity) or Bosniak (muslim Bosnian; an ethnicity)?

I guess I already am Bosnian since I was born here but I really don't like this country and don't identify with it.

And I guess I could qualify as Bosniak if I converted and accepted the Islamic culture; the rest of the stuff is really similar and I'm sure someone from the outside wouldn't even be able to tell a difference.

whoops I forgot about them because there aren't many turks here.

Let me rephrase: I regard all non-east-asian, non-former communist central asian muslims as a threat.

I hate to rain on your parade dude, but the H in Ahmad is actually quite difficult to pronounce (I don't suppose you speak Arabic). Even if people don't say "Ámad" or "Amád" and actually pronounce it with an H, it would most likely still be wrong. Sulayman and Shamsaddin would be easier for other Americans to pronounce correctly.

But I do think Ahmad is a nice name. Don't get me wrong, I'm just too autisitc to realize it if I offend people.

Well, it was hard for me to imagine you being a Serb and having muslim friends. Are Bosnian serbs really as intolerant as they're put out to be?

I do know how to properly say the aspirated H, and I know white folks can't say it, but coworkers calling me Aa-Medd doesn't bother me

Whats your problem with iranians tho?
