Tor does exactly what it was intended to you. The fact that you're astonished by the fact that such a broken, shitty hack like hidden services appended on to a perfectly good protocol turned out to to be a broken, shitty hack appended to a perfectly good protocol shows your normalfaggotry.

Fuck off CIA nigger

can i use tor to protect my anime folder?

Hail Trump

it's most likely another JS exploit. Just like the others. No doubt the tor devs are in on it too by leaving JS on by default. There is no reason to even allow JS on tor nevermind leaving it on by default.

Please give a link to the actual exploit. I don't want to read journalists stupid opinions on technology they know nothing about.

>Please give a link to the actual exploit. I don't want to read journalists stupid opinions on technology they know nothing about.

Literally the whole article is about how the FBI won't discolse the actual exploit.

>There is no reason to even allow JS on tor nevermind leaving it on by default.
On my last visit to the dark net more than a year ago, JS was disabled by default and huge popups would warn you when something was going to activate it or you were going to visit a page that contained some.

What happened that now devs leave it on by default?

Then it's probably just a javascript exploit.

>JS exploit == Tor is compromised

It's a javascipt expolit that only works on windows. It has nothing to do with tor as a piece of software. The only way to catch a tor user is traffic correlation which wouldn't hold up in court.

Look at the (((dev team.)))

>Damn we got these niggaz hacked!
>Fuck it, let him go. We're just that good.

The official excuse is "muh compatibility" but that should simply not be allowed. Tor hidden service operators should design their sites to work without JS. The end user shouldn't be forced to compromise on security to cater to lazy hidden service maintainers.

Can we please just fucking kill pedophiles instead of wasting time and resources like this
If you’re not using Tor just to shitpost, be hackerman, or buy drugs you’re probably a fucking creep which is exactly when they should fucking arrest you
You know what, now that I’m heated
If anyone wants to dox some pedos and put their names in a list somewhere I am 100% over it and will just shoot as many as them as I can before getting arrested at this point
Or even if you just know the name of one person who hurt you or even a family member. I’m so tired of it all and these fucking abominations being the excuse no one can have a sliver of actual privacy
My life is meaningless anyway, might as well try to go out with a cause

>fox news told me tor is only for pedophiles
get the fuck out of here pol

Listen I know it was a blog post but I feel like you didn’t actually read a word so let me give you the reading comprehension impaired version
>if you’re one of the people using Tor to be a pedophile
>I want to kill you
>everyone else should have a right to privacy

But it's right.
Literally no reason to use it outside this sick trash.
>inb4 muh muh whistleblowmydick or dictatorship maymay
change country you fuckos.

Right to privacy is a pretty good reason. You can dismiss why people use it as "maymays," but just because you don't think anyone should have a right to privacy doesn't mean that they need to justify their reasons to you.

i basically just read the first few lines and saw the pol crusader meme and discarded the rest. maybe next time try not to pol post on g?

Bring back Jacob Applebaum

The option to turn js off is right in front of you, it’s not some dev conspiracy. Plus tor isn’t only for the deep web. If you’re on the clear net a ton of sites use js

yea but why is it not off by default? if your argument is that turning it off is easy then turning it on should be just as easy as well. again "muh convenience" really isn't an argument.

Whenever you promote that level of security, you're bond to attract A LOT of baddies.
We just can't take seriously something used in most cases for ban evading, hate speech and human traffic.
the number of people using for serious reasons are minority, as for example you can't find relevant website
Illegal business, scams, pranks and fed baits are the core traffic of tor.

Did you read any of the post?

"Compromised" in our age isn't like a broken door lock you can fix and then you're secure again. Internet traffic is being mass-collected and mass-archived. A security breach retroactively leaves all your previous activity subject to scrutiny.

So whatever security you use, if you're doing something illegal (or politically unpopular and subject to persecution), it will eventually be revealed, at least in a Western country where intelligence/law enforcement agencies have the resources and leverage to mass-archive IP traffic and then decrypt/depacketize traffic as new vulnerabilities are discovered. It's not a question of "if". It's how long you have until your activity is revealed and how much of a law enforcement / intelligence priority you are.

Gtfo lib shit

>compromised
Is it though?

But the the point that tor isn’t only for the deep web is an argument. But I do see your point that it could just be off by default

Or it's social engineering by the FBI via an informant who they don't want to reveal, and they want to discourage criminals from using something secure by implying that it's insecure via an undisclosed but YUGE vulnerability.

Yeah a pedo goes free. They can nail him on something else or let his community crucify him. But all the other pedos (& other criminals) switch off Tor, which if the vulnerability isn't in Tor itself might help the FBI catch THEM instead when they switch to tech that does have a vulnerability.

These are smart guys. Don't underestimate them. And there's delicious irony in letting one free to scare the others into making mistakes.

the best way to have real anonymity is with offgrid networks. like pirateboxes and such. spoof your mac address before connecting and there will be little identifiable information left behind. the piratebox itself has no internet connection so even if your OS is backdoored like windows it still wouldn't be able to call home to big brother government.

this
we should also kill drug users

If only. Imagine a world with only 1 billions human beings.
Literally the sweet spot for humanity to prosper on this planet without destroying it.

>make all drugs legal
>people taking them start dying
>???
>profit
and the government hasn't spent a single penny on finding and capturing them

anything other than pot is basically suicide anyway so in a sense they are already killing themselves.

>Killing the DEA's and CIA black ops funding
>giving up the excuse to having troops stationed in Colombia

It's not a fucking tor specific exploit, it's a java exploit.
Disable java and you're fine. Thought you should be doing this anyway if you're serious about security.

>he thinks there are 1 billion humans on earth today who have not tried a drug of some kind
Sugar is more addictive than cocaine.

Lel. Pot might as well be suicide. It lobotomizes you.

>ever using TOR not through Tails

It was made by the military... It was always compromised

>used in most cases
*Citations needed

pot is just a degenerate as other drugs

Fuck off retard.
If Tor was 'compromised', it'd be making national headlines for days. Literally every agency in the world is blood thirsty to undermine tor.
