WHEN THE FUCK IS THE DOJ GOING TO LOOK INTO THESE PRICE FIXING CuCKS AGAIN? THEY GOT CAUGHT IN 2002 ALREADY, THEY'RE DOING IT AGAIN!

the end of a manbaby hobby

You do not need 32gb of ram.

>Sup Forumsays thinking no one builds PCs for their work
>Sup Forumsays thinking people using PCs for work only need notepad to run
fuck off under aged brainlets.

The RAM issue is related to smartphones and people buying a new flagship every 6 months.
So in short, it will stop the same time GPUs will get cheaper once the cryptobabies marked crash which is either never or until something big changes the market.

you don't need gamer RAM for a work PC you twat

>The RAM issue is related to smartphones and people buying a new flagship every 6 months.
no it isn't you retard. they were caught fixing prices in 2002 by DOJ. they're doing it again

18nm and 17nm process switches were behind schedule/lower yield than expected at Samsung/Micron earlier this year. hynix didn't switch, but they don't have excess capacity to produce more and take advantage of it.

pcgamer.com/samsung-to-increase-dram-output-as-ram-prices-continue-to-climb/
tl;dr samsung is increasing output at this point with mass production in early 2018, which should provide relief in the new year for RAM prices

>gamer RAM
what is "gamer" about that ram?

idk desu im just shitposting

price fixing only works when you can get everyone to control prices and production.

samsung is pissed about the amount of money that Micron and Hynix are making and is increasing production of DRAM in 2018.

english.etnews.com/20171031200001
>According to industries on the 30th, Samsung Electronics is currently converting part of its 16 line of Hwasung plant that produces 30,000 2D NAND flash memories (per month based on wafer input) in order to produce DRAMs in the future. It is confirmed that Samsung Electronics has been bringing in equipment since early October. It is going to go into mass-production system in first quarter of 2018.
> About 60,000 DRAM units will be produced additionally from Hwasung and Pyeongtaek plants in 2018. It is expected that amount of increase in quantity of supplies will not be much as of right now due to reduction of 30,000 DRAM units as 11 line of Hwasung plant is converted to image sensor production line and increase in number of processes because of it. Due to these reasons, it is likely that price of memories will continue to go up in 2018.
>However unit cost of supplies may drop as quantity of supplies will increase greatly after H2’18. Samsung Electronics has decided to tentatively produce DRAMs from entire 16 line of Hwasung and 2nd stage of investments that will go into the second floor of new Pyeongtaek plant. Just by producing DRAMs from remaining space of 16 line (135,000 units) and 2nd stage of investments for second floor of Pyeongtaek plant (100,000 units), Samsung Electronics will be able to produce 235,000 additional units. It will be doing so starting from 2019.

samsung is pissed that Hynix and Micron are making the money they are, and want to make money before china enters the DRAM manufacture market.

>not using the cloud as your ram

>not using your 8TB 5400 RPM hard drive as your ram

>price fixing only works when you can get everyone to control prices and production.
>
>samsung is pissed about the amount of money that Micron and Hynix are making and is increasing production of DRAM in 2018.
meaning everyone is price fixing but samshit

Also a reminder that Micron only exists because of DOD/NSA/CIA who require US made dram.

>overcharge and get rich
>somehow they are the "CuCKS"
>not you

i doubt it. everyone took huge baths and people got arrested on the last price fixing. the players are more consolidated and the government has more of a boner now than they did in the early 2000s to go after these types of cases.

samsung has a 55% control of the market. they would benefit the most from fixing, and they're increasing capacity instead.

with such a limited number of players, nobody is going for a glut of capacity, they'd rather sell slightly less than ideal than get into an oversupply that drops the price of DRAM like a stone. so long as they're not talking to each other about price floors or agreeing mutually on capacity controls, this is all legal.

>the players are more consolidated and the government has more of a boner now than they did in the early 2000s to go after these types of cases.
less players = easier, also gov can have a deal with them, overlooking certain shit for favors.

I home samshit will fix it in Q1 2018

Obligatory

>tfw crypto miners and smartphone buyers are solving the Sup Forums problem

enough is enough we need to create silicone jobs in US.

>we
You really mean "someone other than me" ;)

Im an advocate

>smartphone buyers
Unlike miners, that's literally 80% of the educated world

>educated
>voluntarily carries a 24/7 surveillance tracker

>>not using the cloud as your ram
yeah the goyim will never know you are using all their data

And if they do you can just shut it down :^

kijk ook ff op pcpartpicker de/Google shopping of die goedkoper te vinden is.
>nederdraad take over

The free market can never be wrong.

shut up nazi

>we need to create silicone jobs in US.
I think the US has had more than enough boob jobs

Don't buy faggot.

>Threadripper
>DDR4-2666
is that really the max spec RAM it can handle? lmaoooo

bedankt.

hou je bek dicht.

No, that's the guaranteed minimum before OC.

so in order for you to run faster RAM sticks, you have to OC your TR? how well does the 1950X OC?

Stupidly well, it's literally the top 0.X% best binned chips.

Now for the CPU frequency itself there's a hard limit around 4.2Ghz due to the current design, but the memory can go much further than 2666.

>Stupidly well, it's literally the top 0.X% best binned chips.
wait I thought TR were Epyc rejects?
> but the memory can go much further than 2666.
but that would also depend on how well your RAM OC's right?

>wait I thought TR were Epyc rejects?
It's roughly the same in terms of binning, but the threaripper chips only use two Zen dies, whereas the Epyc chips use four.

bullshit

TR, Epyc and Ryzen all use the same dies
The lower end TR and Epyc use all use rejects glued together

Fucking Koreans
Spool up your God damn factories

Now reeeeee!

Tr and epyc both have 4 dies on them, whats wrong with the tr dies are not known, and yes, they are 4 ryzen dies,

as for binning, tr are the highly binned ones, epyc are the lower clocked, what I mean is tr hitting 4.2-4.3 isn't unheard of or hard, and the moment you drop voltage/clocks down all tryzens chips start looking fucking amazing, there is no need to bin them or else fires happen like there is with monolithic intel dies.

cant wait for china to get into dram, they will pump shit out and not give one fuck about saturating the market or not.

>Tr and epyc both have 4 dies on them, whats wrong with the tr dies are not known, and yes, they are 4 ryzen dies,
There are two functional dies. Yes, if you look at the photos, you'll see four on a threadripper.
"What's wrong" with the other 2 rizen dies is they are disabled, meaning they didn't pass the requirements so they're not used.

>as for binning, tr are the highly binned ones, epyc are the lower clocked, what I mean is tr hitting 4.2-4.3 isn't unheard of or hard, and the moment you drop voltage/clocks down all tryzens chips start looking fucking amazing, there is no need to bin them or else fires happen like there is with monolithic intel dies.
Epyc is lower clocked for the simple reason that there are more cores, and it's not possible to maintain a high frequency on all cores at the same time.
It doesn't mean Epyc parts have worse binning, that would be retarted.

Demand for SSDs and RAM has skyrocketed and they can't make new facilities fast enough. Blame phones for having 6-8GB of RAM while being disposable and blame laptop manufacturers for soldering shit together so users have to buy the highest tier immediately.

>Blame phones for having 6-8GB of RAM
blame Android for being bloated.

Android doesn't need 8GB but having so much allows it to cache things or to keep apps open in the background. It wouldn't be a problem if people didn't upgrade every year because their plan is up.

>It wouldn't be a problem if
if android didn't keep shoveling bloat on top of bloat
