I can buy something miles more powerful for the same money and I'm not talking about the consumer variant machine but calling supermicro, Fujitsu or Dell.
Workstation segment will never work with macs, only startup kids and people who think they are professional graphical designers work with these and I'm not saying this to be an asshole. Their displays are terrible for this sort of work. We only use eizos for example because of the color calibration.

I've never ran any serious workloads on my mbp. However, even if you fire up a youtube video w/ some tabs open and other apps open, the fans are going to be screaming at max and its still going to be cooking.
