Why do I need to enable JavaScript for EVERYTHING

Why do I need to enable JavaScript for EVERYTHING

I can't even order a fucking pizzs without surrendering to the botnet.

Don't use sites that use JavaScript, user?

It's not like good alternatives exist for every jayAssed website

Client side code mang
Why have the server process data when it can be done client side?

>the botnet wants me to starve

Stop being such an autist.
Would you rather download a specific application for reach and ever website?

nonfree.pizza/
a-a-A-AAAaAAaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

nonfree.pizza

shit nvm

Is ordering pizza slang for accessing child pornography? Shame on you OP.

no I'd rather websites displayed static content and didn't run any code at all.

I'd rather sites used JS for its original purpose, (enhancing content that still works fine without it) rather than how they use it now (absolutely nothing works without it)

>use webshop
>add item to cart
>page reloads

>buy pizza
>choose a different extra topping
>website has to recalculate the cost
>page reloads

>since it's not a bloated piece of shit it goes fast anyways

>We're down for maintenance

NOOOOOOOOO

A javascript price calculator updates in less than a frame, while a page reload on every change breaks your concentration, puts more load on the server, and increases data usage. You are literally arguing in favour of bloat because you're afraid of javascript.

Page reloads for submitting data are a small price to pay for killing off all the things that JS (and active content in general) is used for: advertising, telemetry, analytics, fucking with the UI for no good reason, spying, browser exploits, malware, etc.

code monkeys

Or you could learn to use whatever js blocking tool you have and only block tracking js and other cancerous shit.

Well one, JS in general is cancerous shit. Two, the fact that I can fix it selectively with an addon doesn't mean that its not a problem. It shouldn't be there to begin with, and we shouldn't have to use addons and workarounds to get rid of all the bullshit.

Have you foiltards ever heard of a burner phone?

Fun Fact: Many EU countries won't let you get a prepaid phone or SIM card without a government-issued ID, so that all your activity on the phone can be tracked.

I would like to insert my peepee into that frog.

>Mom I want to do terrorist activity, so I will buy a phone without associating it to my ID.

Maybe you should just go outside and buy food for yourself.

Oh wait, you want actual practical advice.

>Why don't they run everything server side!

There's a reason this is not done anymore. Get a modern fucking PC and stop complaining about a bit of javascript. You rather have the server infrastructure costs reflected in the price of your pizza instead?

Yes I would, a bit of added cost is a small price to pay for a private and malware free experience.

just use ur mum's computer

How is this not practical? You're wasting money on delivery, You can buy crusts, pasta sauce, and mozzarella for a fraction of the price, and have a much better pizza in 10 minutes with a toaster oven.

We all need to stop using non-free javascript. Even posers who claim to love FOSS will run proprietary JS without blinking.

We need a culture change in webdev. I, for one, shall be petitioning for JS to be disabled by default in all browsers.

Amen

I don't even have any HTML on my website, I use JavaScript to create elements and attach them dynamically. Why should I have to bear burden of serving huge html files?

why can't you order using your phone, user?

>orders his pizza on systemd Linux and has his phone number on record in lennarts secret underground data center in Germany
>doesn't use burner phone for every pizza order and proceed to smash the phone afterwards

It's like you don't even care about botnets. Now lennart is gonna add to his favorite topping pizza research so he'll be ready for ads in Linux kernel

>tfw the botnet wants me to starve

It's awful isn't it.

What kind of a paranoid retard you should be to block javascript? Like holy shit, what's the point of browsing the web if you need to downgrade yourself 10 years back.

>can't order pizza
you don't have a phone?

>enable javascript
>visit mainstream news site
>now background scripts are bitcoin mining using my computer.
Thanks faggot.

Because it's cheaper.
Not everyone want to botnet you automatically, but you see, CPU time is golden, so they prefer to use your CPU time rather than theirs.
JS can save you some millions or billions if compared server side shit like PHP.

Ublock blocks bitcoin miners, baka

I will never understand why you idiots are ok with reloading the page after every single mouse click. Ajax requests are so much better and faster and work without rerendering thr whole page.

The web isn't static anymore and never will be again. We are moving towards an interactive web. More and more software will be moved to the web as "Web Applications". I know you linuxtards hate hearing that word. But guess what, this way Linux might actually end up having access to professional software since all you will need is an up2date browser.

Any page that still uses form post or get requests that reload the whole page in 2017 are outdated.

Fucking hell, I stopped coming to Sup Forums like a few years ago, and this is still a thing?

Maybe if you'd quit your whining, made your own free scripting language, and started an open source pizzeria, this problem would be solved by now.

You could call it AnchovFree.

Oh, it's the "a random autist who has absolutely nothing to hide and has done nothing remarkable, acts as if every intel agency on Earth were watching his every step" episode again.

have you tired calling them you stupid fucking retard

Isn't that what a PHP script on the server side is supposed to do?

>don't use 95% of the internet, user

The UK and Germany aren't many countries in the EU.

they are just US slaves in denial at this point serving the triple parentheses

Glad you don't need JavaScript for being such an autistic faggot.
Now stop breathing. Immediately.

More like 99.9%

You could call them.

...And that's okay, because most of the Internet is terrible.

>tfw the pizza company uses free software

only in a dream world

that's why you let a junkie buy your phone

Blame the DOM

You know we only use 5% of our internet

Wont work if theyre in the sites first party scripts

As a Linux user, I'm on your side. This is the new era, I'm sorry.

>freetard can't handle javascript

Fun fact: as far as I know only Italy does that.
UK and Ireland don't, Germany doesn't, the Netherlands doesn't either, Estonia neither, and France neither too.

I'm not gonna let you autistic retards leech off my bandwidth because you don't want your browser to do any work whatsoever. It's not the fucking 90s anymore.

>puts more load on the server
You are an idiot.

Not making pizza from scratch for a fraction of the price. Stay fat amerilards.

Not xim but you're the idiot

JS:
> Want extra tomato
> JS adds "extra tomato" to the list of ingredients
> JS adjusts value in subtotal element
> All without making a network request

No JS:
> Change order
> Have to send a GET/POST to the server, telling it I want extra tomato on my pizza
> Server sends me back the whole exact same page, except "extra tomato" added to a list and the subtotal updated

I agree that irresponsible use of JS and the expansion of browser capabilities has allowed the web to become a monster, but you can't say the scenario above isn't made more efficient with JS.

ITT: autism

You fags know you can actually disable JavaScript in your browser and just white-list whatever you need, right?

if you served static content your page would be 20KB instead of 5MB, and I could reload it a few dozen times and you'd still save on bandwidth.

My page is still 20KB since I don't host any js libraries, and there's no way to do the stuff I do statically without reloading over and over.

maybe what your site does isn't worth doing then

how else am I going to mine monero on your pc?

> These are the only two options
> I am incapable of nuance
Sure is Sup Forums ITT

You can't even order a pizza then user

Or they could just tell you what everything costs and you could add it up? are millenial """techies""" this bad at arithmetic?

>what is HTTP POST request
HTML forms don't need any JavaScript to work

>modern web development
>website is now actually a React/Angular app

It's modern technology you dumb nigger

>"Wahhh why do I have to use a car to travel"

Alright then bitch walk your ass across the state. Dumb faggot

But the car doesn't spy on me.

HTML and CSS3 are together a turing complete language, you could theoretically do it without JavaScript

That still won't make the JavaScript free as in freedom butthole

>Why do I need to enable JavaScript for EVERYTHING
Because web development is fashion driven and web developers are faggots.

>I can't even order a fucking pizzs without surrendering to the botnet.
Have you tried ordering on the phone?

You don't actually believe that walking is more expensive or time consuming than working to pay for a car and auto insurance, do you?

Are you sure about? Most new cars literally do just that.

...

As a web developer I disagree. Loading content with ajax or using a web-socket absolutely has its place, but it doesn't totally replace HTTPS. Main websites operate completely fine off the request/response cycle, and trying to turn them into web applications is needless bloat that will cost them more in development time, maintenance, and result in a poorer user experience. Many of the features that come naturally from HTML and https hyperlinking are lost in SPAs, and can only be crudely and confusingly be remade.

On the other hand, many web applications or applications that are built off of a web framework are pale reflections of their native application counterparts. They are popular because they're new, and the concept of web applications are still exciting to naive users and investors. Some of these application genres are really doomed in the long run, generally anything that really needs performance like games and professional level content editors(IDEs, photoshop, etc). Media consumption apps like netflix, youtube, and also image hosting sites like boorus and even Sup Forums have a legitimate place on the web, though media consumption through native applications will always be preferential to content creators who incorporate it into their workflow. Some web apps are just total fads, that people use because it's interesting and the general trend right now is to do everything in the browser. But I think we're hitting the peak of that trend as people that lean towards the 'power user' demographic have gotten bored/annoyed/generally disenchanted with web-apps.

Really makes me think...
Add Pooland since 2017.

You're 12.

Nah. It's more dynamic than that. You don't need constant requests for it.

Imagine using a computer without being able to run programs. Same goes for web without JS.

Yea they do retard, it's just another request to block.

That's not static content though. You can create a dynamic website with just HTTP requests.

Formerly lurking only here.
I googled this and found the Request Policy extension.
Thanks, I like it.

>why cant i order pizza with an 8-track player!!!!
that's what you sound like

Australia does this. Theres ways around it but its still overbearing.

make your own dough and you can have god tier family size pizzas for like $3-4 dollars each.
