next should be the die shrink (well, actually more compact structures still in 14nm) at the beginning-middle of 2018. Depending on what they want to improve first we may get Ryzen (the first product released in 2017), desktop APUs which are not out yet, or perhaps Vega if they really need new silicon to fix some things.

I doubt either AMD or Nvidia will get the concept of MCM gpus working in the near future - the engineering issues are formidable and that is nothing to speak of the software side (scheduling must be an unholy motherfucker). That said if anyone can pull it off it would be the next biggest thing since unified shaders. Sup Forums struggles to grasp just what sort of implications MCM gpus have as it (assuming the design works) solves a shitload of issues that prevent gpus from getting bigger dies as well as denser dies.

Plus at its very core an MCM gpu completely invalidates sli/crossfire as a concept - if the design works (in theory) no matter how many gpus you bolt into a system they would present themselves to the OS as a single massive system.

Man Vega was a disappointment. Where is the RX480/RX580 successor? Nvidia must be due to release their new lineup soonish...

This, I have the RX480 8GB and I didn't get RX580 since it was so small upgrade. If Vega is a housefire I don't want it either, my GPU is well made. I still want to be able to upgrade at some point to get higher performance.
