Why are there so many fucking shills that pretend to be happy with the NN repeal? When they're so wrong they can't even shill on reddit they come here and spread their bullshit. I have yet to hear a single good argument from them
Here's what I've seen >muh small business Won't be able to afford the fast lane and will die out >in the past we didn't need internet In the past we also didn't have electricity or running water. If you want to go back to that then by all means, please do. But the rest of us would like a higher standard of living that includes an uncensored internet. >muh 2015 laws except that the first NN laws were implemented in 2005. Before all of these big companies even got the idea to monopolize the internet because its infrastructure was completely different back then. If these laws go now then the internet will be completely monopolized. >nothing will happen then why would all of these lobbyists pay literal millions in bribes to get this thing repealed? If they don't want to do anything? The internet in 2017 is different than it was in 2005 and we need these laws to prevent it from collapsing entirely. >ISPs controlling is better than government controlling under NN laws NOBODY controls. That's the whole point of net NEUTRALity. >muh reeses cup/butthurt redditors/etc... not an argument
I have yet to see a single good argument against NN. Meanwhile, I have seen tons of good arguments for NN. For example: >www2.ohchr.org/english/bodies/hrcouncil/docs/17session/A.HRC.17.27_en.pdf (UN declares internet access a human right) >now ISPs can choose to censor sites they don't like. THIS INCLUDES Sup Forums. >Internet traffic is like physical mail >Much of our infrastructure relies on the internet and privatizing it will spell disaster for everyone except ISPs. >Small websites of every sort will die out. >The US will be completely isolated from the modern world like North Korea: ISPs can control what goes in and what goes out.
If anybody who is against NN can give a good, well reasoned argument, then I will happily read and address it. Believe me, I want to like the repeal of NN. I don't like having to prepare to move to Canada or Europe. So please, provide a reason to dislike NN.
Leo Richardson
no, here too.
Kayden Fisher
Don't even try to argue. The people making these threads aren't real people.
Joseph Wilson
Cause Sup Forums is so in love with their autistic nationalist messiah that he and his administration can do no wrong, unless of course Daddy says he did cause he never lies. Just like how Moore was innocent cause he denied the accusations
Ayden Walker
implying we're pretending. i'm actually thrilled. i was for it until google, facebook, twitter, salon, vox, and all the other toxic, sjw deplorable swine shithole sites became for it. if they support it then it has to bad as they wouldn't support it if they didn't have an ulterior motive. and i don't trust them one bit.
Jose Cook
Except they don't particularly care. It's just a few more fractions of a percent in their expenses to get the fast lane, which they can easily make up for with increased prices on the consumer or more ads or whatever. We pick up the bill, and to them it's just a minor inconvenience. If they actually cared they would have spent millions lobbying to keep things the way they are. But instead they just say "we support NN", like they say "we support water in africa" or whatever. It's a PR stunt but it doesn't mean it's wrong.
Ryder Roberts
It's possible for shitty people to, you know, have some things that they could be right on.
Like, fucking seriously. Tribalism in politics is the dumbest fucking thing.
Connor Walker
>associative fallacy oof
Henry Fisher

sjws like living too, so you know what? let's fucking kill everyone, that sounds like a good idea.

sorry sweetie
Isaac Garcia
I already addressed it. Or do you not know how to read.
>>muh 2015 laws >except that the first NN laws were implemented in 2005. Before all of these big companies even got the idea to monopolize the internet because its infrastructure was completely different back then. If these laws go now then the internet will be completely monopolized.

sjw's also don't want to be murdered? does that make murder good?
Joseph Richardson
>gargling corporate mayonnaise just to piss off some people with weird haircuts
Jayden Long
cooperation lost 0 power from NN if anything it was a new medium of control since politicians are in bed with corporation anyways
Levi Morgan
I don't need to what you said was vague and false nn did NOT exist in 2005 you are merely manipulating legislation you never read to match your narrative :^)
Hudson Bell
you sound mentally unstable
Jonathan Smith
SJWs sure seem to love no jumping in front of a train, you should livestream yourself doing it to piss em off user! Sounds fun!
Blake Hernandez
>shilling for NN >every single board is full of concerned NN advocates in threads that have nothing to do with it >why are there so many shills
If you were only shilling for it here or pol I wouldn't mind. But you have such a social justice crusade going on that you can't keep it here or there.
Gavin Ortiz
yeah well i would trace this modern marxism issue back to ~1990
this was all planned out so i dont give a fuck about their cringey morse code paragraph
Michael Walker
I literally only made one thread. And yes, it's relevant to every aspect of internet life, so it's going to be talked about. Why wouldn't it?
Luis Martinez
>human rights = marxism = bad >I don't give a fuck about this cringey source Please make a fucking argument
Bentley Price
>implying marxism is not a bad thing found one
Nolan Perez
how the fuck is NN social justice? not everything that goes against the trump administration's policies is SJW, liberal media bias, fake news, or globalist jooooz.
Justin Smith
>Paying for Internet like it's a shitty TV package is a good thing

Levi Nelson
god damn you guys are retarded. two of these are fucking mission statements and are not in any way legislation. the second is a decent decree which typically do not hold precedent as any legal limiter and are merely non fault judgments based on individual situations. in this case they even state it m8 >The Parties agree that this Consent Decree does not constitute either an adjudication on the merits or a factual or legal finding regarding any compliance or noncompliance with the requirements of the Act and the Commission’s orders and rules. The Parties agree that this Consent Decree is for settlement purposes only. you're complete liars who can't read for shit
Adam Robinson
Generic social justice moral panic over literally nothing.. or I should say taking sides in a big business turf war in support of big business group B instead of group A. If you have a better name for retards like yourself I'm open ears.
If I assume you're not a government employee, you don't work for alphabet Inc or any other beneficiary of the regulation and you're not being paid to shill this shit, then my only conclusion is that you're an idiot who doesn't understand that net neutrality has 0 effect on you. I mean your Internet cost could go up, your data caps could come down and your Internet speed could stagnate in the future but that's really speculating over the possible effects which is no better than becoming hysterical and saying "without net neutrality ISPs will start charging you by website". Though what I described is almost certain to come true, because someone still has to pay for the network upgrades and if it isn't Google that's getting their lunch money taken by big bad ISP to cope with demand, it's going to be you.
Eli Nguyen
Pretty much this. They’re shillbots from the Kremlin
Hunter Adams
If it makes SJWs sad then i'm all for it,right now wrongthink is already opposed by websites, being opposed by ISPs won't change much.If you idiots get to pay more for facebook, reddit, netflix and all that crap then it's even better.I'm not sad about small start-ups full of soy dying out either.
Easton Thompson
>my gran should subsidize your Sup Forums degeneracy even though she only pays to use AOL

libcuck meme presented as gods gift to the planet. libcucks consistently misrepresent abject facts in order to manufacture a false narrative about truing the internet into some retarded cable subscription
Owen Smith
The anti-NN shills are either ISP bots or useful idiots that kiss ISP ass.
Zachary Reed
because trump doesn't like it because he's a 100 year old tech-illiterate geriatric whose knowledge of the internet and how it works is relegated to twitter; Sup Forums worships trump, ergo all his opinions are correct
Cameron Stewart
its surrounded by people who do this same method of gaining power >introduce complicated legislation >tell you it does something good for society >actually just gives them a way to bend more rules all the while Obama takes most of the heat even though this started with bush senior
basically with NN we would be fighting both government and coorperation rather than simply being able to hold corporation accountable
big business wants to be able to say "sorry our hands are tied you have no other options"
Robert Baker
We're at a state where the people who are interested in pushing naratives on Sup Forums flood over into every board on Sup Forums.
Benjamin Murphy
I wonder if Tommy can name one purely Capitalist society that has thrived. (Not a commie, btw.)
Elijah Morales
it's a reasonable extension of what you just said, though. your statement made it clear that if SJWs like something, it's something you must dislike, for no other reason than "SJWs like it".
i don't like SJWs any more than another level-headed human, but i don't let the mere mention of their support shut down my rational thought
Ryder Sullivan
Pretty much. Sup Forumstards are the biggest cucks of them all.
Jaxon Jenkins
Stretch #1: human rights = marxism still have not convinced me how you did that
My point with the '= bad' was that "marxism" is literally a buzzword used to describe things you don't agree with. Not advocating for all-out marxism but redpill me on socialism because I believe in human rights for all.
A wonderful argument, see responses to because this is a hot topic issue and everyone is discussing it everywhere.
Adrian Brown
murka!
Anthony Peterson
America was doing pretty swell before we were flooded with minorities
David Powell

because their political ideology and life philosophy centers entirely around doing what liberals don't like, regardless of how something might affect them. they frequently boast about this fact. they see liberals talking about how they want a free internet, and their rational brain shuts off, and they oppose it by nature of having liberal support.
Nicholas Hernandez
Blame the minorities for your issues. I agree that bullshit like affirmative action is, well, bullshit, but you can't go around treating minorities like boogeymen. Pic related.
Again, a beautiful argument. Boy, you really convinced me by attacking my masculinity.
Where the fuck do you even see the word `nazi`? And I'm literally asking for decent arguments against NN, which I HAVE NOT HEARD.
Clearly you didn't get the point then
Christopher Foster
oh, of course, silly me. it was very easy to see that on an anonymous message board. glad you took that personally.
Christopher Hall
Here is an argument: The free market.
Happy?
Ryan Gray
Careful! Pointing this out inflames their "economic anxiety"
Isaac Richardson
no i can actually act like they are the problem. America was 90% white in the 60's and everything went to shit DIRECTLY after that.
every great society has been homogeneous
Evan Gray
How so?
Isaiah Harris
No.
Adam Smith's laissez-faire is a load of bullshit that was disproven. It's responsible for the worst financial depression in history because we were too high and mighty to help those in need.
Tyler Bell
>tfw you you've come to realize the problem with SJWs arent their ideas, just a combination of social media removing all humanity from the majority of social interactions and the fact that SJWs haven't a sociable ot charismatic bone in their body >privilege isnt even that crazy of a concept, its literally just that SJWs are the autists on the other side of the isle that are as socially inept as our Sup Forumstards and use these academic measures of statistical advantage to completely overpower any amount of humanity or individualism
Its not leftists or Nazis, its fucking twitter.
Camden Roberts
Marsh v. Alabama google it. before nn existed (pre 2015) were you paying extra to use certain websites? wow no. now it existed did you stop paying extra to user certain websites? (passed by obama 2015, repealed 2017) wow no. now that it's repealed will you pay more to use certain websites? wow no. It's ironic that big players like Google and Facebook and Twitter have been shilling nn repealing is an attack on the 1st when they themselves shit on the 1st amendment with the 18th of this month being marked as a 'massive' purge of conservative twitter users. Nothing changed when NN was enacted. Nothing will change when it's repealed.
Jayden Reyes
Ah, yes. The great depression is a very fond memory of mine too.
Literally every problem caused indirectly by minorities is actually caused by racism, either in the form of against minorities, or AA-like legislation for minorities.
If we treat each other the same regardless of skin tone, then there will be no problem whatsoever.
Gabriel Johnson
The ability for competition to exist is absolutely imperative for a market to be considered free. ISPs legislate away the ability for competition offering a similar class of product to exist on a local or state level, or failing that, they collude with other ISPs in a region because they realize it benefits them both to give customers only a single option. The majority of Americans have a single option for high-speed broadband internet, with no hope for a direct competitor.
Samuel Mitchell
The free market is responsible for the prosperity of the united states. If you debate this you are a lost cause.
Jaxson Martinez
Well, looks like you guys are attacking the wrong problem then.
Christian Garcia
No response in that post makes sense, they are all about being contrarian.Well,if something doesn't touch me but touches my enemy why should i oppose it?As i have said if you are guilty of wrongthink you get opposed anyway.
Benjamin Morales
A prerequisite for a free market, which I agree is an objectively good thing, is the ability for competition to exist. ISP competition does not exist for the majority of Americans. Satellite internet and shitty throttled mobile internet plans are a different class of product and are not directly competing.
Jose Hill
The fact that we weren't involved with Europe's wars and instead did our own shit with slavery is why we got our foot in the door. Post-slavery brought us to the great depression in 70 years because the free market had run its course, like a game of agar.io.
Also checked.
Elijah Torres
we were having more babies during the great depression
>Literally every problem caused indirectly by minorities is actually caused by racism what the fu-
you think this is about skin tone? this is about white people flighting from niggers all throughout history we are 7% of the world population and people want to claim that we held billions of Africans down for the past 3,000 years Jamaica wishes it was a British colony again Indians loved to be occupied by white people, remember how severely they outpopulated the whites? it had nothing to do with being afraid of guns remember Istanbul not Constantinople? it was white, then over run by muzzies! the few blacks and mexicans that live on our welfare are treated like kings compared to if they lived where their ethnicity stays
Anthony Scott
I keep hearing people say this- that the real problem is the local collusion, so why are we worrying about the national collusion? But attacking ISPs for this NN shit of bribing regulatory bodies to allow them to perform whatever kind of anti-competitive traffic shaping they want is the SAME fight. ISPs poured untold resources into establishing this monopolistic environment with the intent of abusing it like they're preparing to do so. Those of us who have been worried about this for a long time have been already worried and encouraging action on a local level, but the corruption has spread to a federal level now.
The fight has always been that ISPs want to make as much money off their customers as possible, regardless of current legality or current market forces- to make up for their dropping cable TV subscriptions and then moreso. They've always been winning, because they've engineered a zero-competition environment.
Ryder James
So then why do ISPs care so damn much about it? Why are they spending 8 figures to bribe the FCC and politicians into doing it? Literally nothing the trump administration has done has benefited the people. All big business.
Also Comcast withdrew their promise to not throttle or otherwise manipulate the content you visit. This is analogous to admitting they will do it.
Asher Robinson
Concern of NN has to do with government regulations over the private sector.
Acknowledging that the creation and purpose of this country was to avoid overpowering large government from total control over people, it is not unreasonable for people to be concerned whenever the government extends it's control.
This idea of the federal government regulating and solving every problem today is just sad. Raise taxes, extend government control, they will fix everything!
Yeah I get it, you read some info graphics that said THE INTERNET IS DOOMED. YOU WILL BUY WEBSITES LIKE CABLE PACKAGES. YOU WILL BE THROTTLED TO 1 BYTE PER 10 YEARS!
What is your argument to keep it?
Parker Thomas
Read the rest of the damn post.
Logan Howard
i did
Sebastian Sullivan
Because interet access is a basic human right, as per the UN statement from 2011 in the OP.
Then clearly you didn't understand it because I explicitly said racism that goes in both ways. That means what you describe as well.
Jaxson Campbell
>now ISPs can choose to censor sites they don't like. THIS INCLUDES Sup Forums. sounds like a poor business decision. I pay comcast for service, this would be a breach of our contract as they changed the terms of service. that means I would be eligible to switch to another provider. I haven't shopped around recently, but I know there's at least 3, many 7 providers in my area. I'm not in a major city. No fiber yet, but that's not a big deal my speeds would be good enough with any of these providers for streaming. Comcast would lose my business and a free speech ISP would gladly take my money. If all of the ISPs censored Sup Forums, that would introduce a market opportunity.
The free market and game theory tell me there's nothing to worry about. Not to mention the amount of internet outrage over just the IDEA of anything like this happening causes bomb threats and eternal REEEEEEing from 12 year old plebbitards, tells me the ISPs aren't stupid enough to do this.
I've seen the NN shills for years. They're attempting to fix a non-problem. Once you've been along around enough, if you open your eyes you will start to see this pattern in every democratic solution.
Just listen to how they complain about how the government gave the ISPs billions to upgrade infrastructure. It wasn't a donation really, it was a tax break. USA has the highest corporate taxes in the world. Those taxes go to the DMV (piece of shit), FBI (corrupt) DOJ (corrupt) CIA (corrupt)..., or to some welfare nigger who will never be satisfied with their EBT. Either these pieces of shit get your money, or businesses that exist to give you what you want do. And the tax breaks worked, broadband expanded at an exploding rate.
Jose Wilson
Government regulation over the private sector was a problem introduced by ISPs when they began corrupting and colluding with local and state governments to enshrine themselves as the only serviceable option in the area- preventing new ISP start-ups and municipal ISP projects from launching to offer competition. THIS is the form of regulation that needs to be destroyed. The NN regulations were an attempt to reinforce the fact that they should not be acting anti-competitively while handling our traffic, since they already forced most of the country into a monopolistic market. Their response claiming that government regulation is going to hurt them is stupid. It's the reason they're so powerful to begin with.
Ayden Smith
This is women's studies level bullshit, but let's suppose it's true.If racism causes problems and racism is a response to immigration then immigration causes problem. What you are saying is like,if you jump from a building you don't die because you jumped but because of gravity.
Jack Harris
Mexico for mexicans africa for africans china for chinese japan for japanese cuba for cubans india for indians US and EU for EVERYONE doesnt sound like "both ways" to me btw, keeping a low population is SMART but now niggers are overflowing from their countries all over the world and its our problem
Adrian Miller
They've tried it before. Gotten in trouble for it.
racism is caused by the fact that we brought in blacks as slaves and saw them as inferior because of it. That persisted even past amendments XIII-XV.
You're more than welcome to live in any of those countries. They're just 3rd world shitholes that nobody wants to live in.
Jeremiah Williams
>getting cucked by a pajeet to own the libs what a time to be alive
Asher Rivera
It's just reverse colonialism. In the olden times it was the british empire sending colonists over to places, now they're sending colonists back to western countries, and we're supposed to pretend that it isn't fucking awful.
Cooper Gutierrez
proof of bribery? I'm sure they had lobbyists but that's normal. Trump has nothing to do with it really, he never made promises about nn to the people, and ultimately the people will be unaffected by this change. What this is doing is shifting some power from big tech companies to the ISPs which is why you see the big tech companies trying to rally their users to fight against this big bad change. Comcast is a shit company and will do whatever they can to fuck their customers no matter what the situation is so that's not surprising.
Nicholas Johnson
>it makes Americans angry >it makes SJWs angry >it makes non-SJWs angry for liking that >it makes people who are upset about me not caring angry
Who /chaotic neutral/ here?
Jaxon Moore
The trump administration is objectively pro business and anti-individual. These are the promises he made. He was for trickle-down economics. >What this is doing is shifting some power from big tech companies to the ISPs No, it's shifting the power from the center (neutrality) to the ISPs.
Hudson Myers
Its a shitty band aid for more important issues in America. If your country didn't fuck up it isn't needed at all. The real question should be why isn't their competition for ISP's that have a regional monopoly and then take action to stop that. NN should not be needed at all and doesn't fix the real issue.
Angel Reyes
>They're just 3rd world shitholes that nobody wants to live in. Yes, and let me guess, the US soil is magic and made of gold? I think what you are admitting here is those countries can't understand our plight and you are admitting that you dont understand my point about white flight that we run away from worn out societies, build new ones, and repeat but no we seem to just come across these societies like magic. No back breaking work or anything like that
Henry Ramirez
Hardly. there have only been a few occurrences in the last 2 decades, trying to throttle another streaming service was all they did. NN wasn't active at the time and the FCC slapped them down for it.
Noah Davis
how do you feel knowing you're the dumbest person in this thread?
