When will this meme finally die?

The only thing capitalism really drives is meaningless bullshit absurd disparities as in pic related.

>amazon wasn't an innovation

You aren't wrong good sir.
Capitalism is exactly what it sounds like, a system in which your value is rated by the amount of capital you have.

what does this have to do with Sup Forums ???
saged

Why cant amazon workers unionize? I guess theyd just be replaced by some 10/hr faggot instantly

...

if they unionize, they get fired and they hire poo in the loos.

It's ok user. We're just in a transitional phase right now. Once Amazon automates their warehouse and delivery process, unskilled workers will be out of jobs and have to leave the country.

kill yourself

It'll all work out if you just believe in capitalism

You said that a couple of hundred years ago.

This. The only "innovations" it has actually brought recently are bullshit like smartphones and tablets.
We have the resources to invest in true technological innovation, yet we spend them on mindless consumerist crap.

It wasn't.

>capitalism
go whine about it on your containment board.

You can have almost anything shipped to your door in 2 days for cheaper than if you got it anywhere else, there's a reason retail is dying.

That's called evolution, not innovation.
Buying stuff online existed long before Amazon. They simply improved an already existing service.

>>>/gulag/

>Innovation, for its part, can refer to something new or to a change made to an existing product, idea, or field. One might say that the first telephone was an invention, the first cellular telephone either an invention or an innovation, and the first smartphone an innovation.

Because as soon as they try, Amazon would fire them. Amazon is slave labor tier. My buddy worked for them. They give quotas/number goals that are impossible to reach unless you're literally sprinting. All day. Every day. They then continue to berate/belittle you about your not meeting their goals. They'll do this for about 6 months. Because in those 6 months, you'll be thinking "man this is my fault, I have to step it up if I want to keep this job". But by month 6, you're no longer seeing it like that. They bounce you, and get someone else in your place.

Never work for Amazon. I order shit from them all the time but their work ethics are beyond fucked.

Unchecked crony capitalism is shit, communism is shit, fucking humanity is shit. The older I get the more I wish the fucking nukes would fly or an asteroid would careen into the Earth. You're all worthless retards and I hate this gay Earth.

What if the employees would all quit at the same time?

and yet here you are shit posting on a computer made possible because of capitalism, weird

That particular Amazon shipping depot would close for all of a week. At absolute max. Then they'd have new employees. Amazon paid my buddy $14/hr. For most people, they're willing to put up with a lot of garbage to be paid that much because it's unskilled labor and they came from minimum wage jobs making $8/hr.

I talk from experience. I went from rolling burritos in a Moe's southwest grill to working in an automotive warehouse. Unionized. I make $30/hr to move parts around all day on a forklift. My job is considered "skilled" because I need to pass a test to get the license, safety lessons about chemicals, etc.

The only plus side of my buddy busting his ass for Amazon for 8 months was the experience. You take that with you and it makes you more attractive for other warehouse jobs. He got hired somewhere else making $17/hr doing roughly the same job but WAY WAY better treatment.

Mate, compare capitalist societies to socialist societies.

No human population has ever been so wealthy as we are in the west, this is unprecedented.

Socialist nations have universally been tortuously poor, prison states.

Capitalism is a free market, this does not mean free from regulation, it means free from designated ends.

The purpose is to manifest and protect an arena for incentivised, co-operative competition.

This fucking works.

We know of nothing else besides competition which can act to mitigate corruption.

The problems people find with capitalism actually aren't problems with the philosophy, they are cheating cunts attempting to exclude themselves from competition through manifest security handed down by idiotic Governments.

All governments are Keynesian, Keynesian economic policy, unless wielded by a perfectly wise and benevolent party, is designed to manifest security.

Think bank bailouts.

In a truly competitive realm, those banks would have been fucking done.

The problem with economic philosophy generally, is that no-one actually reads, and yet every ignorant cunt thinks he or she nevertheless understands and could do better.

Absolutely fucking pathological.

We need to focus on protecting competition.

Yeah, but when retail is kill, so is a big chunk of economy that lets people afford buying shit from Amazon in the first place, and funds the infrastructure that Amazon bottle-pissing truck drivers use to deliver it. Capitalism is literal cancer that will kill itself by sucking the life out of its host. I for one can't wait to see the day this gay world collapses.

people will just innovate other ways to compete, they won't give up and starve

>Dumb ass socialist shitposts on 4chin from his socialized country coasting off the past successes of capitalism while his country slowly drains itself of wealth because of socialist policy

If that innovation helps some rich asshole make money, sure. Important stuff that isn't profitable doesn't get done.

innovation != technological progress

technological progess = inventing the fork
innovation = using the fork to scratch your back instead of eating pasta

Out of curiosity what is your definition of socialism?

>Dumb ass capitalist shitposts on 4chins from his capitalized country coasting off of the past successes and revelations of socialism while his country slowly drains itself of wealth because of capitalist policies
Not only do you not even into history, you can't even meme it half right.

>He thinks Sup Forums has a coherent idea of socialism.

Sup Forums was never a place to get sensible statements but I think this place is getting really really rotten.

Isn't Unionizing protected under the EEOC? I know target does the same shit. If so, how do companies get away with that?

Yeah, but that is why you bully new employees, beat up the manager, and burn down the warehouse if they don't comply.

Unions used to do these things, then they got soft.

I think the internet killed leftism, compare BLM to what Fred Hampton was saying, or the IWW to modern unions

short term contracts. they don't have to fire people. they just let the contracts run out and get new people. as said. after 6 months, you're out and the next slave takes your place.

He got help from a socialist president with things like subsidies from USPS and Obamacare exemptions for being a donor.

...

commie please
is like you can't think by yourself
when capitalism collapse nwo will take place with a new system, not your failed shit

China

> modern unions

Doing fine m8. Ibew member here, worker solidarity has come a long way. The general public is beginning to understand that worker-driven unions isn't socialism and union workers are starting to take Brotherhood to heart: treating non union workers with respect rather than animosity. Out west, for example, many steel and electrical workers are Mexican. This is a good thing; it helps deter the rampant exploitation of immigrant labor. Twenty years ago, you'd never see that.

I hope that, in the not too distant future, pajeets and chinks can also be encouraged to organize.

Unions are ultimately a corporation who's main product is labor. A free market ultimately allows unions.

Unions are only protected on paper. In practice, unions are basically forbidden. I wonder why companies might not like unions. Really makes my almonds activate.

>>capitalism drives technological progress
>When will this meme finally die?
except it still does

A guy getting rich doesn't magically make that untrue

BABY WANT REVOLUTION

>socialist president
Why do so many people from the United States not understand what socialism is?

with capitalism if you don't like your job you leave your company
with communism if you don't like your job you leave your country... if you can

I'm a schizophrenic so I'm not good at keeping jobs. been in quite a few shitty places and a lot of them have picked up a door-to-door model that has workers come in, do the job for a short time and leave. they have effective methods of hiring new workers and teaching them what to do as fast as possible. still a lot of mistakes happen constantly.
one might think it makes more sense to hire a few more people, have permanent, experienced staff and stable conditions but that would mean slightly less profit so they rather keep this machine of misery running.
automation will eliminate all those jobs anyway so it doesn't matter much.

>capitalism is evil, socialism is good
Socialism is literal cancer, but a broken system is destructive as well. That is all you have shown. So many people make the false assumption that countries with laws to protect worker rights, give free healthcare, affordable housing, and safety nets for people too ill to work are socialist countries. They are not, they are capitalist countries with responsible governance. Venezuela is an example of a socialist country. Fun fact, most Nordic countries despise when people call them socialist, because they aren't. Fun example from Denmark.

>with communism if you don't like your job you leave your country... if you can
wrong in SU you could change job

Where exactly in my post did you find a suggestion or prediction as to which system should or will replace capitalism after its collapse? Because I'm pretty sure I didn't make any, you illiterate fuck.

>communism
>countries
Can you morons at least read what you're throwing a fit over

>Reddit spacing

Because they are braindead retard mongrels

>socialist
>obama
Pick one

Exactly. But unlike many corporations, unions aren't driven by profit and growth but the benefit of its members, who also happen to run it through union meetings. And what benefits union members happens to be higher wages for workers in a local's area, especially non union workers -- it makes it easier for union contractors to be competitive with non union companies, and it makes it easier for union members to negotiate for higher wages.

I'm always happy to read about a non who work at (decent) warehouse gigs. Back when the Teamsters union was retarded, you only had cushy warehouse jobs or Amazon-tier warehouse jobs, because union guys thought non union guys were scum. Nowadays a dialogue effort exists - more workers have the courage to ask for higher wages (not even necessarily unionize) and more companies aren't afraid to pay their crew what they're worth.

Except when free market thugs murder people for trying to unionize.

>trash of society unskilled faggot ""workers" being treated like trash
>Bad thing
Should've studied in school ,normalfaggot, who's the nerd now ?
Can't wait for robots to replace these fags

nope

you do realize that workers have to work 40-50 hr shifts and literally pee in piss bottles right?

>unions aren't driven by profit and growth but the benefit of its members

>capitalism is to blame for world governments proping up international conglomerates

fuck I'm at the "bargain" stage
I'm considering reading both Adam Smith and Karl Marx and maybe some von Mises too and then deciding who was really right.

but only a braindead American could support Stalin, he was literally worse than Hitler (and I mean "literally" in the literal meaning)

>Socialist nations have universally been tortuously poor, prison states.
(You)

>amazon wasn't an innovation
Wow, an online Walmart with twice as many fraudulent returns
