kid, did you really have to ask?
It has a bounty on it though. It's coming.
Yes. But it's still the fastest terminal emulator ever.
Why would I want a fast terminal emulator?
yes, vim is a terrible Text Editor; use emacs.
kek
Does it support ligatures?
Is it related to this project in any way?
github.com
...
code compiles faster, no joke
Are there stats on this? Specifically, what the average wait-for-draw time is for this vs competitors when building project X?
>Mac
Yes
sounds like you just volunteered
yes
whats the point
it's already here, just merge the PR yourself.
(and get ready for mad when you fuckup the first build and realise rust has no object cache)
>installing Rust
I aint doing that.
Cool background.
>A short talk about Alacritty at the Rust Meetup January 2017
They're seriously doing that thing where the speaker holds a token to show it's their time to talk and that they're not finished yet. Mozilla is a joke.
>mut
hahahaha, get it, MUTT, like AMERICANs
lmao
:^(
You get a cool Rust Evangelism Strikeforce t-shirt, think about it
Thinking about it, even if the time-to-draw is the same there should always be more CPU time for the compiler since the GPU is doing the drawing.
...
I know it's not fair to judge the project based on this kind of thing, but I just can't deal with this. I just can't.
Where are the prebuilt binaries?
>Alacritty, a cross-platform, GPU-accelerated terminal emulator
>uses pacman on windows
>thinks he has the right to complain about anything
Not an argument. Also feel free to name a better package manager for Windows. And don't say chocolatey because it's a fucking crap shoot of varying quality per package because they're all user contributed.
What font is that?
>needs bounty to create a scrollview
I'm not surprised communists are hungry.
Just tried Rust a few days ago.
Can confirm, it's a meme.
Everything is so complicated and verbose, can't wrap my head around it (nb4 t. brainlet).
Rust is clearly an autistic programming langage at this point, the community is so small that you cand spend hours googling a simple shit like parsing json and not success.
Ofc performance are good, but the price to pay is way too high, can't use it at work.
Yes it's currently a meme.
Unusable, just stick to urxvt.
Just wait and see how it will evolve.
What thing? I have no idea what you're talking about
It's a thing they do in schools with kids in early grades to teach them how to speak in turn.
We all get in a circle and the teacher hands out a token (a box, a stick, whatever) and only the person holding it is allowed to speak, if you want to speak you have to wait for someone to give you the token. There's probably a name for this but I don't know it, sometimes they do it in marriage counseling as well.
Oh, fucking kek.
>ballpit
That unironically sums up most user's experience with rust. The rest are shilling it hard on reddit/Sup Forums/hn. Now that I think about it most of them don't program so I don't think they managed to build anything with it either.
that language looks like Swift and Kotlin
Yes it is.
Someone forked it and has a Windows branch, it fails to build because it's looking for a cargo file, outside of the project directory ("../../../c++/winpty"), for a non-rust C++ project.
this shit even happens when trying to build rustc on sane systems
