Do you cover the camera on your laptop?

Does it really matter?

No, I just disable it in BIOS. Good enough.

It doesn't matter.

Of course not, I have nothing to hide.

Hello, please take a picture of yourself using your laptop webcam and post it in this thread.

>being this late to the CPU botnet

When even normies are clever enough to do it, you should too.

Why would I?
I am very handsome, so I like other people watching my perfect face.

no i pry the whole thing off with a butter knife

Eh, whatever, don't give a shit about the police spying on me fapping.

I bought a refurbished chinkpad and it came with no camera so it saved me the bother.

just disable the driver

stickers on tech is tacky, pun intended

I don't use it to masturbate so no

No, it's a retarded thing to do. If someone manages to get into your webcam you are very likely to have much worse problems.

at the point where someone has access to your computer's camera, some leaked pictures of you fapping to futa x loli porn would be the least of your problems.

>open up the laptop
>remove the camera
>hope you didn't fuck anything else up
>????
>PROFIT!
If you need a webcam get a USB one so you can just unplug it easily when not in use

it's still one problem less

Yes, it makes me look like a techy among my normie coworkers, even though what my laptop sees me doing is depressing enough to make any NSA monkey kill themselves

Your CPU has full network access senpai.

>Do you cover the camera on your laptop?
Yes.
>Does it really matter?
No way to know, but why would you take an unnecessary risk? That sounds stupid.

>Do you cover the camera on your laptop?
Yes
>Does it really matter?
No

This

How is this better than covering it?

I just unplug my webcam when i'm not posting boipussi

I open the machine and unplug the connector. This is why Sup Forums memes the fuck out of Dell and Lenovo business laptops. I can do one search and find the maintenance manual for any of my ThinkPads going back to like 2005 at least. I can download it as a PDF and see what every single component is, what ever cable leads to, and where every single screw goes. Takes me like two minutes to know what to unplug from the board instead of wasting my time ripping up the whole display assembly like a retarded ape.

I don't wanna get black mirrored

Hello, please take a picture of yourself using your laptop webcam and post it in this thread.

Why are these so expensive damn, I just use black electric tape.

Or just get some black tape

>not doing both

You won't have to look like a paranoid fucker who puts tape over his laptop camera

>not just shooting your webcam with a gun

Normalfags have been doing it since they saw that picture of zuckerjew's laptop.

Yeah, I cover it because, even though it may not be a very big deal, it takes all of a few seconds to tape over a webcam.

Use electrical tape on a black laptop and nobody will even be able to see it.

>have no use for camera in laptop ever
>tape looks disgusting and leaves sticky shit on it
>don't need one more device eating battery
I don't see a good reason to keep it plugged in.

I'm into exhibitionism so if anybody is watching then that's completely ok

My laptop has no camera or microphone. S'all good.

I not only cover my webcam, I also soldered switches to microphones, to make sure it is used only when I need.

amazon.com/C-SLIDE-1-0-Webcam-Cover/dp/B00AZ639VG

this way you can still use skype or whatever conferance call application you're using like a normal human being.

This, i just reenable it when i use it, my lappy takes like 20 seconds to boot.

It's expensive because buying it is also a donation to the FSF

I cover my laptop camera
Then I load up my Playsation VR and make sure my Playstation Camera can see me clearly as I jack off to VR/360 porn

>my lappy

but you can't remove them temporarily if you want to use your webcam legitimately. it's kinda unpractical.

they sell plastic stickers that slide on the side conveniently for the same price..

nah i wanna let haxors see my double chin while i do homework in bed

nice

5dls? fuck that
I just put some black tape, and it doesnt look like shit on the mac
:^)

i don't mask my webcam
i don't have a webcam
i don't have a laptop

Hello, please take a picture of yourself using your laptop webcam and post it in this thread.

>i don't mask my webcam
>i don't have a webcam
Which is it?

I cut a small square out of the sticky part of a post-it. Hasn't fallen off in years and I can easily peel it off to use the webcam. Can't say on how well it handles repeated peeling and re-sticking though.

they're not mutually exclusive

>i didn't fuck user's mom
>user doesn't have a mom

no, I'm a cam boy

Hello, please take a picture of yourself using your laptop webcam and post it in this thread.

No because my CPU is pre 2006, system is librebooted Parabola.

How could someone not have a mom?

This, ESPECIALLY for you UwU

Not unless you're a cute man with a fat wallet.
user's logic said so.

NSA or CIA could still find a way into your system if they really wanted to.

It died death

Trust me they have been doing it long before.

This. If there's software, bugs may happen and be abused.

The NSA wouldn't care unless they traced savage shit into your PC. The ones who'll likely do it are hackers. They have more of a reason to as well, they want to sell private user's neet data.
OP's manga, figure, and Blu-ray collection could pull a fortune. Who wouldn't want some of that?

>picture of zuckerjew's laptop
The facebook guy? What is this supposed to mean? People have a reason to use it outside of HS/college?

But that is besides the point

I thought the point was "does it matter". And that the answer was yes, but not for the reasons you're thinking of.

The point I was making is that the NSA and/or CIA has the ability to access your machine (assuming it is connected to the internet), and of course, if it is not they have... other means to gain access.

Welp

>that poor grammar
>special tracking pixel
Does anyone fall for this shit

Yes, I also cover both cameras on my phone with duct tape.

Yeah. I also disable it and the mic through Bios

Although there is a lot of them that are genuinely illiterate, even "real" scammers write like that, and on purpose.

It's to weed out the ones smart enough to ignore you. If you get a reply to a very badly formatted email you know you have hooked someone who'll believe everything

The "special tracking pixel" is a real thing. It's usually a 1x1 embedded image that's loaded from a domain with a specifically formatted URL that includes whatever information you want. It would be trivial to see if someone viewed an email this way. The email is still probably false and spam though, and most email services block such attempts regardless.

Why did you block the BTC address?

I would like to see if someone has sent money to that guy

blockchain.info/

Dunno how Gmail handles it, but some clients won't render HTML in messages unless you explicitly allow it.

>special tracking pixel

i've never owned a laptop with a camera, nor a desktop webcam

Hello, please take a picture of yourself using your laptop webcam and post it in this thread.

can you read?

here's the laptops i've owned, if you're curious

I just remove the kernel module. Mostly cause i dont use my webcam and removing it simplifies my system a touch. Doubt anyone is gonna waste the resources and time to record me honestly.

Just follow this link:-
macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager04.html
And you'll see where Adobe, at least, have access to your camera AND microphone.

someone still has flash player installed?

Nice blog post.

I unplugged my netbook's camera the last time I had it open, my laptop doesn't have a camera.

Nah, I look the CIA man in the eyes with my balls in my hand and stick it to the fuckin' man.

youtube.com/watch?v=4zH9Zca1vRM

Autistic things I do when I get a new laptop
>Tape camera
>Stab microphone with a push pin to kill it
>Remove stickers identifying the brand

destroyed it with a screwdriver
fucking botnet won't get me!

I'm an ugly man with a fat dick, is that close enough?

don't forget to also cover the mic if you are dumb enough to not disable it too.

Nice.
Not Aesthetic.

Underrated post.

No, and no.
Properly disable it if it bothers you, or buy one without.

my laptop doesn't have a camera.

only correct answer

Can you expand your blogpost please, I'd really like to read it.

physically remove it
