So what with all the shit going around about Mozilla and firefox at the moment I wanted to swap off FF for obvious reasons. At this point though the list of valid alternatives is so tiny that I just don't know what to move to.
Chrome is just out of the question because fuck google and while I could go to firefox forks like Pale Moon, I'm not the biggest fan of the interface.
Has Sup Forums got any suggestions for someone looking to jump ship to another browser that isn't shit? Thanks in advance.

waterfox is good, but i use palemoon and i find it good!
Carter Collins
Vivaldi and Waterfox are two corresponding forks of Chromium and Firefox that I have used (currently on Waterfox), and I loved both of them. You could try them.
Jaxson Rivera
Iridium PaleMoon Waterfox IceCat Otter
Jaxon Fisher
chromium
Isaiah Garcia
I moved to Basilisk which is by the Pale Moon guys. I am loving so far.
Jackson Williams
I switched to Vivaldi from Firefox about a year ago because FF was slow as all fuck to the point where the extension choices weren't worth it. Plus, so many extensions were outdated pieces of shit to begin with that I barely used anything unique any more and it was all on other platforms. It's very clear that extension devs jumped the ship a long time ago.
Carter Rogers
Basilisk.
Tyler Barnes
I just downloaded Waterfox. It's pretty good so far. Really clean.
Cameron Brown
Is this the new rendering engine? How fast is this compared to firefox quantum?
Nicholas James
>use an alternative browser >has no noscript/umatrix/ublock How do I even.
Oliver Gonzalez
What are the perks to using it?
Lucas Bennett
[] not a botnet [] has ublock [] has flash [] low resource use
is there anything that is all of this?
Christian Gonzalez
I've switched from Seamonkey to Waterfox and I'm liking it so far. It feels like what Firefox should be and it supports all my addons natively, so that's definitely a plus.
Waterfox or Palemoon
Luis Evans
Cyberfox and waterfox
Easton Baker
I head the pale moon devs were cucks or something. will waterfox use less than 200mb of ram?
Adam Foster
>low resource use >palemoon
Josiah Rogers
Nope and nope. Waterfox was running 1400 mbs on me yesterday with 4 tabs open, none of them videos or anything crazy. It's gotten way worse than it used to be.
Palemoon dev is supposedly a furry and it also used to be really good. Now it has next to zero working add-ons, Google punishes you for using non-zionist approved browsers (enjoy solving 20 captchas), and that's my only complaints really.
Whats happening with Mozilla? I've not been paying attention.
Brody Morris
why don't you guys like opera
Luke Long
...
Colton Wilson
what the hell am I supposed to use then? I just want a non-bloated browser that will let me play my shitty gacha games and order pizza.
Elijah Martinez
Good question, I'm in the same boat actually. I was using waterfox until I saw the memory bullshit yesterday. Palemoon actually isn't that bad providing you don't need a lot of add-ons or don't have to use captcha.
I was thinking Mozilla might have turned it around but now they got some bullshit bundled in. The whole landscape is changing and every browser is shit, Javascript is looking like it needs to be disabled more and more.
Im not sure what to use either user. I'll use Palemoon over chrome tho.
Julian Garcia

>Whats happening with Mozilla? I've not been paying attention.
I actually installed pale moon on my laptop but it really fucks with captchas. if I get signs or cars it goes for like 8 different ones and then tells me I failed. I have to keep reloading it until I get stoplights or boats.
James Walker
Yup its not just you. Palemoon dev tweeted Google about it and told them to stop punishing users but obviously Google doesn't give a fuck. Apparently this is all on Google, they're punishing non-approved competition.
I really fucking hate Google it's too bad the only choice for mobile is them or apple.

Would spoofing your user agent string fix this?
Andrew Brown
So far its blowing quantum out of the water IMO. I haven't run a side by side comparison of the two but using basilisk and then going and using quantum and back really shows the difference between the two. For one basilisk seems to handle multiple tabs way better than firefox and it seems to render them faster. It's also not a resource hog.
I cant' describe it but it also just feels better.
It doesn't send my data to a third party. I can have 40 tabs running and it won't even break a sweat. Addons that work on Firefox also work on it. I've only had to find one alternative and that was for Greasemonkey (I moved to Violentmonkey)
PLUS TREE STYLE TABS WORK CORRECTLY!!! JESUS CHRIST IT WASNT THAT HARD!!
Lincoln Adams
You could try the audio ones
Jackson Smith
I think there is a add-on for firefox for user agent spoofing
Josiah Jones
Palememe is a botnet by default, even more so than Firefox. Yes yes, I know you can disable this starting page and cookies but it requires tinkering before opening the browser. Almost no one does that
Jason Peterson
Which one of these is the best option: Waterfox, Basilisk or Vivaldi?
Jeremiah Collins
>Firefox actually becomes half decent again >vir/g/ins suddenly hate it
kek
Ian Diaz
>Installing random ads >half decent It's like you aren't even trying
Blake Gray
>have to download a plugin to set my new tab page
Into the trash it goes
Nathan Evans
never happened to me
Brandon Phillips
gave up on firefox and started using waterfox all my odl addons still work so thats nice.
Tyler Edwards
>the point of FF is addons >WHY DO I HAVE TO DOWNLOAD AN ADDON REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
into the trash (You) and your opinion goes my man.
Henry Stewart
Except having to download an add-on to add basic functions shows lazy devs.
Matthew Wright
Download dooble
Brayden Stewart
OPERA P E R A kek
Anthony Butler
>not using text based browsers Say hello to CIA niggers
How do I download porn off xhamster, camwhores.tv etc with Pale Moon? Video Downloadhelper and DTA don't work in it.
William Brooks
Use youtube-dl GUI. It supports downloading videos off porn sites, including xhamster.
Jackson Jackson
Does it integrate with the browser at all or will I have to copy-paste URLs to a separate window?
Ian Taylor
The latter. You will have to copy-paste the URLs to a separate window.
Chase Mitchell
If you like the old opera try vivaldi, they don't have the complete feature set yet but they keep adding interesting stuff. It has all of chrome's extensions without the shitty interface.
Aaron Hall

>A XUL-based web-browser demonstrating the Unified XUL Platform (UXP). >dosent support XUL addons
You got me excited for a modern browser that supports XUL addons and I got handed shit. Thanks
Joseph Jackson
Why don't they finish Pale Moon first.
Jeremiah Martin
Is waterfox only for Mac?
Dylan Lopez
But is it better than Waterfox
David Powell
no
Juan Peterson
Fuck that.
Hudson Collins
Is this bait?
Owen Walker
I'd recommend either Firecuck or some chromium sheit. Like a non google fork (i.e. Vivaldi, Opera) or just pure chromium.
Caleb Sanchez
What? You don't see a problem with that warning? Fuck off, you waterfox shill.
Eli Gray
How does updating waterfox work on Linux? Does the browser do it by itself? Because it's not in the ubuntu official repo.
Tyler Reed
You've never downloaded an exe file before?
Kayden Gonzalez
He doesn't want a .exe, he wants a tarball he can compile himself.
Luke Butler
I use qutebrowser on my old netbook and also sometimes on my x220, but for normal browsing I still use firefox and have the literal botnet installed for shit sites only optimized for chromeshit
Luke Flores
But that's available on the homepage. Pretty sure he's baiting.
Kayden Roberts
Has Brave done something to upset people?
Aaron Bailey
No, he's just retarded
Nathan Clark
Always remember , google is just a search engine , and all its product are aimed for that purpose ;which can also be sold to govt.
so better stay away google -android/chrome etc they all include spy program
firefox fork wud be best bet
Colton Reed
>bloat >"""basic functions"""
Jackson Bailey
I'm on Qupzilla right now because I wanted a full KDE qt meme system, it's pretty good but no extension support.
It has some built in extensions like adblock and greasemonkey but 4chanx doesn't work on it.
Camden Cox
Other than obvious security issues and lack of addons, what are the downsides to using a really old browser like, say, Netscape Navigator?
Samuel James
Firefox Quantum is darn gud.
Landon Hughes
Well I'm not autistic enough to nitpick browsers so I just use Firefox on my Linux machine and Safari on my iPhone. I recommend you to not let your political leanings (or $0,02 shilling deposits) affect your browsing preferences, as my way is the most comfy approach to computing.
Isaac Edwards
Isn't there some kind of KDE integration for FF by OpenSUSE?
Isaiah Jackson
So what is, objectively and without any doubt, the best browser for android?
Cameron Parker
Yeah there's one, it's my main browser and it's still at 5.6, I mostly wanted to try out QupZilla because it's now being rebranded and integrated into the KDE apps thing under new name "Falkon"
Grayson Anderson
Is Firefox Quantum any good?
Jackson Robinson
>1513705095586 addons.xpi WARN Add-on [email protected] is blocklisted.
FUCKING DROPPED
David Gonzalez
>Ublock is blocked What? I'm using it right now.
Josiah Gonzalez
Are you using the webextention or the firefox addon version?
Zachary King
liberals going full authoritarian
Angel Roberts
...
Gavin Turner
I was using netscape for a long time, but it couldn't keep up with all the javascript that every site has now.
Kevin Garcia
I'm using the firefox version.
William Lopez
Can't you just use legacy captchas?
Mason Howard
This is weird as shit. I entered the direct link to the .xpi and it installed fine. Went to about:addons and it said that the extension was disabled. Restarted and then it said "this addon is dangerous" or whatever but then that warning went away a few seconds later. also had to manually put the ublock icon on the toolbar. I dont know what to make of it because theres no messages in the terminal either
Andrew Green
oh now im getting these. addons still work though
Luis Wilson
Do any alternative browser have a Firefox "Sync" type feature? Specifically one where I can self-host the sync repository? Its a pain in the ass to constantly shuffle logins, bookmarks, etc between computers.
Connor Diaz
I'm pretty sure Pale Moon lets you do this, though I'm not sure how simple it would be
John Johnson
Waterfox supports sync.
Christopher Nelson
>PLUS TREE STYLE TABS WORK CORRECTLY!!! JESUS CHRIST IT WASNT THAT HARD!! Sold. Installing it now.
Carson Myers
the Firefox codebase is such a mess, that even Mozilla's moving away from it. So it's not surprising.
Colton Hughes
The problem is there's nothing else. Your choices are google botnet, Opera with no exetsibility, m$ botnet with no extensibility or hipster browsers that will never take off that nobody cares to develop for.
Anthony Sullivan
Safari
Jose Foster
>There are actually people still using and recommending Pale Cuck after the AdNauseum incident
