when will you realize Sup Forums doesn't need this thread?

Since the last thread died

I wouldn't take the word "advanced" to mean more powerful. It's more meant as a warning that you definitely have to know what you're doing or you'll fuck up your webpages real good.

The advantage of static blocking is that you can block individual elements, like bitcoinminer.jse or biganoyingadd.google.com, without having to murder the whole domain. The lists also include cosmetic rules so you don't just have bigass gaps in your page where the ads were. The downside is that it's comparitively resource intensive. It's way better optimized than adblock+ though, only like 80mb ram.

Everyone should have some form of static filtering as a baseline in their browser, and ublock kicks ABPs ass at that.

Dynamic filtering (also called uBlock medium mode) is nice in that it uses basically zero resources, and it's good at letting you block groups of content on the fly. uBo medium mode, uMatrix, and Noscript are all versions of this, so you don't need to have more than one of them. Noscript blocks other shit on the side, so some people like to throw it on the pile in "allow global mode" but especially right now that isn't that important.

wanna install debian
is it as easy as ubuntu?

Just started learning c++, and this textbook I'm reading discusses SDKs. I have limited experience with IDEs, and none with SDKs. I assume an IDE is just means to write your code, with some added tools that programmers can utilize, versus SDKs which come with compilers, and additional things you need to execute, debug, and test your code?

Of course, I'm running windows 10.. So keeping that in mind, what are some good IDEs, or SDKs anyone would recommend so I can start experimenting with c++ to learn it better? I have Code Blocks (Which might fit the bill already?) which when I was learning about C I utilized briefly. The only issue with it was it couldn't detect the gnu compiler for C. I downloaded the 64 bit compiler for my system, and utilized the auto detect function in the code block software, but still no luck.. I feel like I'm definitely in the right place with these stupid questions, I just really want to be able to start writing code, and testing out what I've been reading about. So any tips, or advice would be greatly appreciated for this brainlet.

inb4 install Gentoo. I've never used CLI in my life until a few months ago. I've read quite a bit on utilizing GNU/linux based OS. I think I'll utilize Cygwin before making the full on jump into dual-booting just yet.

When I got to install windows 10 off of a USB the windows logo and the little spinning circle show up, but after that the screen just goes black and stays that way, the installer never loads. Is the USB bad? Is something else going wrong? What do guys

Sup Forums doesn't need Sup Forums. It's not like the other threads are any better. Best thing you can do is click the X and work on your relationship with your cock.

Possibly. Install the ISO on the USB again using rufus this time. If that fails, try a different ISO. If that fails, try a different USB drive. If that fails, fuck knows.

Am I trip-fagging right?

Anybody here with a NAS?

I'm looking into purchasing a NAS for use as a seedbox, and my private tracker has a client whitelist.

What torrent client does your NAS use? Specify model number and torrent client name and version number please.

Bought my nephew a chink tablet for christmas, I've done a little research into emulators but there doesn't seem to be any real definitive answer.

So whats the best emulator for android that will let the little bastard play shit like the old mario/sonic games?

I bought a Raspberry Pi 3 B off a sale for $20. What should I do with it? Would it make for a good web server?

any good software that can measure angles and distances in pictures

is there an easier way of figuring out the exact model of your CPU on Linux? I know there's a few ways of getting info on it, but there doesn't appear to be an option that will just flat out tell you "Intel Core i7 2500K" or whatever.

Global Chinese IP range ban when?

are there any uses of a server installation of windows for an average person

im studying for my security ccna's but ive never actually used a server before so it all feels kind of unremarkable

Typically an IDE is an editor + compiler / debugger. A good one (that also works on windows) is qtcreator.
A SDK is usually a binary + a header.
It is enough software to get you started with a specific thing and the header works as documentation for the stuff you would need.
When you get a proprietary driver or something, it is usually given to you like that.

pls respond

Distance usually requires two images.
You calibrate so you know the translation and rotation between the cameras and then you find two pixels that correspond to the same thing in the scene and calculate the distance.
You can also estimate the distance if you know the size of the object you are looking at.
As for angles, usually when you do camera calibration, you can also rectify the image to combat the distortion caused by the lense.
It really depends on what angle you are looking for to know what is out there, but in general, I don't think many good solutions exist. Opencv makes it very easy to setup though.
Start there, see if someone have made what you are looking for or just make it yourself.

/proc/cpuinfo
Is pretty clear.

yeah I already realized it , I am figuring out this zipline calculus problem
> Work out the mathematics of the situation from the provided videos. First carefully watch all videos and approximate all relevant distances. Find the slope of the zip-line and the speed of the person using the zip-line. Note that the person will undergo projectile motion once he lets go of the rope. Find how far from the shore he landed (on either side). Videos can be found at: youtube.com/user/piano4life18

My kids are being obnoxiously loud. They're constantly talking through Discord, which I've got no problem with them talking, but they're just being loud. I've told them, my husband has told them, have had a police report because they were so loud at silly hours of the day, but they still don't shut up.
Is there anyway to block Discord through the router? I've looked on Google, and found a few options, have blocked them, but nothing.
Would anyone else know how?

So what the fuck do I do with my Ublock Origin to make these fucking ads/domains fuck off?

Considering building an HTPC/torrent box/backup server. I wanted to ask Sup Forums a couple of questions, some obvious, some not so obvious:

What would be a good software to backup my laptop files locally over wifi once a week on Windows?

Is it a good idea to combine these all together if I have enough space under my tv set to hold a medium-big server box with about 10 HDDs, or should I use multiple machines?

What would be the best hardware to use for this if I'm planning to have it torrent basically 24/7 and backup weekly while always being able to be used as an HTPC?

You can do whatever you want with it.
I use one as a media center, one as a nextcloud server, I have one on a small mobile robot.

The scene seems rather static, so I would start by looking at the change between frames to do background segmentation. Then I would find the zip line. I can't really tell if it is straight enough, but the hough algorithm might be the best to find the line. It basically stores votes for different line parameters and then gives you the most likely ones.
There is also a P version which gives you start and end points instead of a distance and rotation line.
Ransac is also good for this.
Basically find the line which is longer or close to the width of the image.

Take away the Ethernet cable, change WiFi password and change their phone plan so it limits how much data they can use.

How do I make sure a graphics card I choose is compatible with my system, my motherboard is proprietary. (pic related is specs)

My current gpu is a dead radeon r9 270, looking for something better, I use unreal engine and do some 3D stuff, and only vidya I play are only mobas usually, any recommendations appreciated.

budget 300-450.

I got memtester, stressapptest and some other memory corruption errors with Ubuntu. But not with memtest86 and Fedora.

How can I debug this?

What's all this shit about ads on Sup Forums that can't be blocked? even when i disable Sup Forums x and ublock i don't see any ads

trust me, there's nothing you can install that they can't get around.
just turn off the wifi when they're loud

I forwarded the port on my router and if I use windows it says it's cool.

But on Linux Mint it won't forward. I have the settings enabled in UFW and and my IP Tables, what am I doing wrong?

...

fuck you, enough people aren't using this thread.
half the fucking posts on this board are
>How do i fix (simple problme)???????
it's like /fit/ being full of "how do i lose weight?"
or Sup Forums being full of "what's a good anime?"
they exist to discuss the current topic, not your personal (topic) support hotline

I installed a few extensions since I upgraded firefox and now google looks 2010.
Does google look like that for you ? Pls answer

Because there aren't enough browser, smart phone, mac book, and android threads up as it is? I'd rather people ask these "stupid questions" then have the same rotation of threads every fucking day

I mean, that's terrible. What happened ?

Well I cleared the cache and other things and it's ok now.

I have a 4g connection and plenty of usage left, dunno what the fuck's going on

so, is this a new phone for you?
what SIM card do you have in it?
does your carrier even have 4G in your area?

regular SIM card I've had for years
phone's two years old, never had an issue, I did literally nothing for it to fail like this, was just browsing Sup Forums with Clover and suddenly lost signal and this happened

>regular SIM card I've had for years
is it a 3G only SIM?
also, maybe if it is 2 yrs old you burned out the 4G antennae? maybe your local tower is down? call your carrier and ask.

it's got 4g as well, I've been able to browse in 4G for two years prior to this too

I'll give my carrier a call, but meanwhile mind telling me how can I check the antennae?

Somehow I can only seem to use a tiny fraction of my bandwidth in torrents with the side effect of my internet slowing down to a crawl. I'm assuming it has something to do with my router (Fritz! Box 7360) but I can't quite figure out what it is. I get a maximum of 200 kb/s download and almost no upload despite getting speedtest results of 60 Mbps download and 30 Mbps upload. I don't think it's my ISP throttling me as I use a VPN. I've tried limiting the amount of connections the client makes but that seems to have no effect either. My next guess is that maybe it is the WLAN somehow having a problem with torrents but I thought I'd ask here before buying a lan cable just to test this. Anyone had a similar experience?

Could be closed ports on your router, could be bufferbloat issue (test at dsl reports, only solution is router running custom firmware for sqm, LEDE is best). Likely though it's some kind of problem with your VPN. I'd try another server or bumb around their forums if they have one. You also might appreciate a seedbox if you don't need to host more than a couple hundred gb at once. Hella good speeds.

should i trade a 2600k with 16gb or ram for a ryzen 1600 with 8gb ?

Is there a way to set a custom page as a new tab page on the new firefox?

Is there any place I can guarantee a hot, clean escort and legally? don't mind paying a pretty penny for it desu
Would prefer she came to the hotel too rather than go to a brothel/pimp-house.

>Could be closed ports on your router
I am using PIA and they provide Port Forwarding so I was under the impression I could use those ports without doing anything in my router.
>some kind of problem with your VPN
I've used PIA for over a year and never had problems like that. I just recently moved to a new place so I am sure it is connected to that.
>could be buffer bloat issue
I think that's it. I ran a couple tests and I noticed the download and upload being incredibly inconsistent jumping up and down as well as buffer load fluctuating really hard, going above 300ms at times. Two times it didn't give me a rating and two times I got an F.
To be honest I am not that tech literate so I'm kind of wary of installing custom firmware on my router, especially as the network is used by several people and not just me. I think I'll try setting up another router and see what happens. Thanks for helping me narrow down the issue though.

Should I switch from Yandex to Pale Moon?

It all depends on where you live. But basically no. Sorry to say that, but typically you just have to go out and meet them. Once you find one that's good, continue meeting her.

Obviously try to find independent (not pimped) escorts. These are easier to find on the net. At last where I live.

pls respond

I'm still running an AMD HD 6970. It's still running fine for what I use it for. The thing is, even after repasting the card recently (few months back), from what I've noticed over the last year or so, the card is hotter than before, and as I said, repasted the card, gave it a gentle cleaning, and set a more aggressive fan profile.
I was looking at buying an aftermarket cooler for it, but since I bought it for $25 AUD, it seems a tad idiotic buying an Arctic Accelero Twin Turbo 2, since they're going for close to triple that amount.
I'd like to keep using the card, since it's definitely still usable, so would anyone know of any cheap aftermarket coolers that are compatible with a HD6900 card?

anons which video editing program would you recommend for linux. I need something simple like windows movie maker or similar shit.

not as cheap as you want it to be
you could get a cpu cooler and ghetto rig that onto your card, anything more then that will cost more then your card

I need to buy a microphone for ERP
I currently have the BM-800 + a phantom power but it sounds like shit. Even with a USB audio card. Idk how to mod it and i dont want to try... So i'm wondering if i can get a better microphone that is normie overpriced stuff like the blue snowball. Also, the phantom power was some cheap generic $15 chinese thing.

I'm using zsh with vi mode. How do I paste from the system clipboard? ctrl-shift-v seems to start off in normal mode so that when you get to the first i (for example) it will start pasting.

I'm on a 150/15 Mbit connection and when I connect to a server running proftpd I'm usually hovering around 1 MB/s dl and 70 KB/s even though I should be getting much higher transfer rates, I've looked into iptables and proftpd config but there's no indication of throttling, what gives?

Yeah, that's what I was afraid of. The cheapest cooling solution I could find was about $40, and even that's a tad too high for what it'd be worth, considering over half of that is bullshit shipping cost.
Oh well, might have to sell the card off

is there a way to use the microphone jack as a headphone jack?

does anyone knows how do I fix this? Some colors are fixed, I can't change the color of the #include, the variable type declaration (int) and of the %d's. Using fedora+gnome and vim on terminator (but also tried on gnome term, same thing). The colors of those things I've mentioned only changes when I set the background to light on vim

if you rewire the circuit board it is on. The 3.5 socket is identical, but the circuits they're connected to are different. Unless you had a board that had general I/O ports on them which can be individually programmed. If you're talking about your computer, then most likely no.

My school requires all students to run a Linux box. Can I get away with GhostBSD or will they know?

When people say your ISP has "logs" of your browsing, what do they mean? Do they have a list of URLs or photos of the pages you visit or can they check between certain dates and see what you were on?

Is oneechan good

isn't*

some motherboards support it and you can remap the ports using the Realtek manager or whatever it's called but if you don't see the option there you'd have to rewire the ports

for non-secure connections yes they could be logging all URLs you have visited, whether they do it and whether it's feasible is up to debate though and probably depends on the size and relevance of the ISP as well as the country you're in

Vimperator doens't work with firefox quantum, what do I use now?

Vimium

First of all, from the ISP's perspective there's no difference between a DNS lookup for a domain using TLS and one using plaintext, i.e. they can see every domain request you make. And they do store that info because it's useful for a variety of things. If you use Google's public resolvers (8.8.8.8), you can guarantee they're logged since that's the whole reason you would operate a public resolver like that.

Second, and again regardless of TLS or not, your ISP can see the 5-tuple (source IP, dest IP, source port, dest port, protocol) for every packet you send or receive. ISPs do log at least a subset of this data and retain it for some period because it's important for network management.

There is no question about the feasibility of either of those things. DNS queries and connection logs are relatively small. Most big ISPs probably handle more data in the form of server logs than the above two sources combined.

The key difference between a plaintext connection and TLS is that the ISP can't see the content of the TLS packet, only where it's going and where it came from. That's great if you don't want them to know your banking password or what search terms you entered on a web site, but the two data sets above still give them pretty good idea of your browsing behavior.

If you can't answer that question yourself, you aren't smart enough to get away with it.

What's the cheapest I can go if I just want to build a rig with basic functionality to mine shit? Like, turn it on, run nicehash, minergate or winminer or something, check back once a week and cash out? Any specific hardware?

Okay thanks for the information. My DNS has been on auto for a while which I assume uses the ISP's own DNS.

no, unless you stick to what the manual says.

I'm gonna be staying at grandma for a few months and the only channel I watch on her TV is like this , all the other are fine but this one, what should i do?
