proprietary blobs in linux kernel, tor itself is honeypot

>installing
Also get heads, is a better distro.

Enjoy your honeypot. Hope you have a nice time with the feds.

a watchlist, and also i thought your just suppose to run tails off the livecd

>proprietary blobs in linux kernel
Fair enough, although that might make sense if this is meant to be able to be quickly plugged into any computer and be able to function, rather than having to make sure the computer has the exact special snowflake chipsets that work with Linux-libre.
>tor itself is honeypot
did I miss something?

>heads
>not using side coin
Fucking retards

I opened this thread to post this exact thing.

>installing
You're in for a bad time. Run from liveUSB or liveCD.

They actually have a specific installer for USBs now, you arent meant to just DD it to the drive.
I dunno why.

someone wanna respond to this?
what happened to tor?

Yeah I guess I meant flash. I'm flashing it to a USB and I don't plan on using it on my main PC at all.

this

Nothing happened to Tor, it's just not perfect.

There are various deanonymizing attacks that can be mounted by client side Javascript, fingerprinting various slight rendering differences, typing patterns etc.

There is one "known" Tor browser exploit, the one used to deanonymize the pedophiles using PlayPen, but that one was so valuable that the US government would rather let pedophiles walk free than reveal what it is.

I believe there is also one statistical attack on the network itself but I can't remember the specifics.

Ok then. Thanks for explaining.

The playpen bust was JavaScript based, watch the defcon video about how Tor users got caught and you'll learn more.

getting trolled something fierce

>deanonymize the pedophiles using PlayPen

>The FBI received a warrant that allowed the mass-hacking of internet users across the globe. Judges in the US, numerous times, ruled against the FBI in the PlayPen investigation dubbed “Operation Pacifier.” Government officials, privacy advocates, and even some federal prosecutors protested, or at least acknowledged, that the FBI lacked the authority to invade the privacy of so many people.

So why can the government hack people but if I do the same thing they arrest me?

Stop it. You kids are incorrigible

>installing

nice try CIA

>While the FBI claimed to have knowledge about the existence of the website right from its beginning, it was unable to track down the servers locations or the site owner. The reason for their struggle was the fact that Playpen was hosted as a Hidden service via Tor (anonymity network). Only a mishap of the site owner revealing his IP address finally allowed the law enforcement to track down both page and personnel

Nice OPSEC you've got there!

You have to install it to a flash drive or cd ;)

OPSEC is always the excuse, but it seems pretty obvious at this point that TOR is compromised.

Prob safe to assume simply DL’ing 7ails or onion browser will get you on a shortlist for a nasty APT by uncle sammy.
