When will Apple start making laptops or desktops powered by their own ARM chips?

when will Apple start making laptops or desktops powered by their own ARM chips?

pic related, the A11 in the iPhone X is more powerful than the intel i5-7360U in the MacBook Pro

I don't think they'll do this until that x86 emulation clusterfuck is sorted out. They might already be working on macOS for ARM (they spent years porting macOS to x86 before they started working on Intel Macs). If they were to do this, they'd start with something like Macbook and Mac mini, since they're not performance machines and thus the perfect ground for demonstrating their vision before cannibalizing (what's left of) the pro market.

Stop samefagging angry samshill.

they had intel mac os before it was actually released (Rhapsody)
i think they'll just extend iOS even further and put it on laptops and iMacs

I think switching to ARM has the opportunity to capture more of the Pro market given how powerful the A11 chip is.

>iShit
>powerful

See:
It’s amazing the work Apple has done with their A11 chip. Really far ahead of competition.

>gookbench
>iShit still can't type text without lagging
Apple is a fucking joke.

Do you ever get tired of being banned iCuck?

> i think they'll just extend iOS even further and put it on laptops and iMacs
Ugh, it makes sense but I hope they don't.

>add mouse support to iPad Pro
>add some extra customization and traditional laptop features
>push for full desktop style app support

It's already close to being a full OS.From what I see there aren't any huge technical hurdles.

When will geekbench start to actually provide accurate scores?

Will they actually have an open boot firmware like they did in the powerPC days?

Clearly these are meaningless numbers right. As someone who owns both phones due to work and personal. I see no difference really in the iPhone X and the s8. The only reason to choose either is because you like the OS. I prefer the s8 due to the screen is amazing outdoors and I like android.

As soon as you get a new battery to fix your iphone.

>I see no difference really in the iPhone X and the s8.

Do something computationally demanding and you will.

Battery degradation doesn't start until after 500-1000 on a meaningful level so I'm fine for another few years.

What kind of demanding tasks would I want my phone to do?.

>Battery degradation doesn't start until after 500-1000 on a meaningful level so I'm fine for another few years.

You mean a few more t̶r̶o̶j̶a̶n̶s̶ updates away?

>buy iTrash
>pathetic 1500 mAhlet virgin battery
>have charge it once a day minimum with normal usage, sometimes twice
>battery has 1000 charge cycles by the end of one year and is basically dead
>iTrash begins to randomly shutoff at 40% battery
>update iTrash to latest lagOS
>lose 50% performance

>buy Android phone
>alpha 3000+ mAh chad battery
>lasts 2-3 days on one charge with normal usage
>have only 200 charge cycles on it at the end of a year
>battery easily lasts 3 years with no issues
>can easily pop out battery and swap with premium Anker replacement battery in 2 minutes

iToddlers will NEVER know this feel.

What new android phones still even have a replaceable battery now?

All of them if you're strong enough.

Note 3. still new in my eyes

>Run full fledged photoshop on ARM
>It lags
Never

Considering that Win10 is both Desktop and Tablet OS, there is no other reason to keep iPad with iOS other than greed.

> not reading the thread

> there is no other reason to keep iPad with iOS other than greed.
Except for being a mobile-first, touch-friendly OS on a mobile touchscreen device? And how does greed even play a role?

Probably not. The days of Apple following non-Apple standards are over.
