>AMD literally released a cheaper more superior product than Intel with the Athlon 64
>Intel still made shitloads of money with the Pentium 4 housefires edition
Intel isn't going anywhere sadly

Ye pretty sad when i remember this .. same goes for ATI vs NOVIDA .

>ati release dx11 cards totally ahead of novidia stomping all the gtx 2xx
>novidia attempts to enter the oven market with gtx 480 and 470
> novidia still sells better than ati

They will when their whole board is charged with treason.

This is going to turn into the next '3.5' for AMD shills, isn't it?

Im not paying my respects to that

This.

Sadly they are going away with it, I guess.
The medai is alway talking about a scurity flaw "on both, Intel and AMD".

WTF??
AMD is vulnerable for ONE TYPE of Spectre which can probably be fixed easily without a big performance hit.
Intel's complete architecture is flawed, they fucked up big time.

How can the media be so biased and don't tell the truth?

I'm patched dawg, 3570k ancient warhorse, no noticeable effects.

they were slippery, I'll give them that

INTEL INSIDE(er trading)

You have to enable the fix after patching...

>this cuck tattoo

People laughed at the FX, but for all it's mediocre performance it's going to be the last good CPU ever made.

Run Spectre 2, nothing personal, kid

The GTX 480 still runs games now tho and even supports DX12.

What screenfetch is this?

You know what? Intel has made such stunning innovations over the years...literally given me some of the best computing moments of my life. Intel was always there
Every company makes missteps. It's what they do to resolve them that defines who they are. I am fully confident that Intel will bounce back from this better than
ever, and make their customers proud again. AMD has temporarily taken the crown before...Intel always comes back better than ever. So enjoy this small victory
while it lasts, AMD. Intel always, Intel forever!

Intel Aviv Insider Trading

Okay, so patched [email protected] with a 1070, 16gigs of DDR3 and just played 5 rounds of PUBG (won one solo with a VSS) and I'll assume their servers are patched as well.

Poorly optimized game, full of bugs. Maintained 60 fps, CPU usage 29% and no lag on the servers.

Did you test before patch? You should have tested before patch so you have data to compare with.

>tfw intelfag

I'm too OCD to benchmark, I prefer seat of the pants testing. It was the same as always, even the desert map. Oh and I use w7 too, just for reference.

pig nose

It's not your fault

Wasn't well known that intel chips had a backdoor at the HW level?
What if this blunder was intentionally designed in the chips?!
Remember Stuxnet?

brainlet here
whats wrong with intel?

there are so many processors running shit that needs to be running that shit that they will survive for quite some time. But yeah, this is gonna change the market quite a bit going forward. Intel in for a world of shit.

the intel ME conspiracy bullshit is unrelated to this one
A backdoor should give access only to certain people from certain agencies, this flaw however can give anyone access with a single piece of javascript in your browser, although the damage is relatively small compared to the alleged "muh hidden second cpu with a fully implemented tcp/ip stack that can provide the nsa with all your data in seconds over a 64kbps connection with no visible power change" shit

Patch is out on Windows, literally does nothing for gaming and other general use.

Server performance is kill though.

See

Did you actually enable the features? It needs to be enabled on windows even after the update.

what about gunoo+loonix, when is this shit coming

Kernel version 4.14.11 has it

>It plays my shit asset flip game without shitting the bed
>No I didn't take any actual benchmarks prior user why would I do that?
>Look at this anecdote AMDfags haha btfo

Intel are really not sending their brightest.

> A backdoor should give access only to certain people from certain agencies
A backdoor gives access to anyone with the key. This is Intel, I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out this is just exploiting a vulnerable backdoor.

>can give anyone access
If they knew about the flaw.
I remember NSA exploiting flaws like this.
> although the damage is relatively small compared to the alleged "muh hidden second cpu
>sensitive data like passwords
Just what matters.

lscpu

so a mydistropackagemanager --full-update-option will just fix all my shit? no need to buy new cpu?

Am I safe, lads?

>sensitive data like passwords
>complete access over computer
As I said, r e l a t i v e l y small, that doesn't make it any smaller than it is, just that the me shit would be big if true
And NSA has done shit like this before, but afaik it has never happened on cpu architecture level before. Let's not forget almost all goverment agencies run intel, and NSA aren't only obsessive control freaks, but they are tasked to protect the country.

I'm from /o/ dawg, not one of you tech OCD types.

No offence, I just know how I get with hardware and don't run benches because I know I will tweak until I break it.

Tell me another game that's more stressful, I likely own it.

How do you enable the features?

kek

I got the same. I highly doubt the result.

What to do?
It's not like you can do anything, most people who use laptops are royally screwed.
Even libre-advocate can't do anything since you need a modern hardware to do your daily stuff.
What can you do? Patch the Intel ME ?

Does anyone know if the NSA tools hoovered up by Kaspersky last year were meltdown/spectre related?

Timeline seems to fit
>Jun: Security researcher firsts publishes suspicions of an exploit in speculative execution
>Aug?: University confirms exploitable
>Oct: first reports in press of kaspersky stealing NSA tools
>Nov: Kaspersky publishes results and they did get NSA tools but only from an NSA employee who installed Office using a compromised keygen
>Nov: Linux and MS shift into "expediated" resolution mode
>Jan 3rd: Vulnerability Leaked
>Jan 4th: MS brings forward patch from 9th to 4th Jan
>Jan 4th: MS starts shifting azure VM's onto new hardware and apply patches to mitigate both the vulnerability and the speed issues. Servers aren't available when being moved affecting any services they provide.

perhaps they should have named it.. Coffin Lake

That's just how the free market works, you tankie arseweed. Cry me a river.

F

Better than nothing. It's 8 years old after all

>large companies never use the full extent of their power in the market to increase said power while technically adhering to the letter of the law (at least when they think there is a snowball's chance in hell of them getting caught)

>tool by intel
>no your Intel system is not vulnerable
you think?

it's old version of tool

>2018
>user still believes that the (((media))) is independent

I assume the term "fake news" is new for you too?

Normies aren't going to do this bullshit.
So, what now?

>muh free market

The market is obviously not free and if it were completly free we all would be getting fucked big time. You have to be retarded to think your beloved free market is the solution to everything. Best example: AMD. Without antitrust legislation intel would have killed (or bought) amd decades ago. We would have had a monopoly for a long time. We would have paid much more money for even shittier cpu's than we did until ryzen emerged. That's why there are these laws and why it's not legal to use your dominant market position. For example Intel has to pay AMD more than a billion dollar because the European union decided intel did violate these laws.

Whiter than You A(h)M(e)D

F

>Free market
>Duopoly with one company possessing so much desktop pc market share it's practically a monopoly
user...

Free market has nothing to do with that. It's about government interference. Intel didn't commit any offense against market freedom.
