Idols, feet and headphones. No complaints really.

budget: 50-60Euro
location : Greece,so I will probably have to order from german amazon or a chink website
source: normal pc at home but I am getting an LGV20 in the near future which has a great sound system, maybe even a dac on my pc
Type of Headphone : Full Sized
Open or Closed : Closed 100%
Comfort Level : Sound>Comfort as long as they dont kill me i dont give a fuck
Sound Signature : Don't care but warm-neutral-bright range would be nice but not required

m30x
maybe look into AKG K-240, though they are semi-open

I was looking trough the pastebins and the sony mdr v6 was recommend for my price range

would you recommend that over the m30x?
anyone have any experience with the mdrv6 or m30x?

>Idols
you what

never tried, but from what ive heard, u cant go wrong with them

Streaming high quality FLAC over the Internet

chiru.no:8081/stream.flac

Only quality setups like the ESP-950 + Denafrips Ares allowed.

>vocaloids aren't virtual idols

Nice vape dude

Thanks breh

Reminder that schiit products are garbage

Get the status audio cb-1 instead of the m30x

What does /hpg think of the Hifiman Edition S?
I like headphones with a detachable cable and the closed/open option seems cool.

>Chifiman

Idol trash here. What's your setup like, user?
Nice.

Modern Sup Forums hating anything, especially on a left leaning board like Sup Forums, is a good sign that the products are actually good.

here;s my setup idol trash.

Very nice, user.
How are you enjoying Love Live on your HD600?

Sup idoru user, how you doin
Pc37x in the back
Listening to some killer mike on the 600's
Our setups are eerily similar

Did you guys hop on the $80 LSR305 deal a while back?
(HD600 not pictured)

oh my fucking god when did everyone get fucking hd600s

kys

i broke the 3.5mm plug on my headphones
fortunately, it's double sided, so i can just unplug it from my headphones
how do i know how to pick out a good replacement that wont give me staticy sound?

when are you going to paint that armband properly?

I paid 100ea back in November from Sweetwater - nice buy at any price but 80ea is damn good

So many hd600s watching Love Live. I am honestly happy.
Made it home around the time I posted and I think I'm going to bed already. It's been a terrible day at work, and I'm not feeling well to begin with.
If anybody suggests Amazon Workspaces to you, give them the finger. Fucking hell. And It's been out for at least a couple years, too!
Cool, I hadn't noticed that. Now it's You doing the salute, haha.

I'll probably have to print one out, I don't have the coordination to paint something that small.
The LSR30X are at 90ea. I'm debating getting a second pair for the bedroom even though i obviously don't need it.
Have a nice sleep

>I don't have the coordination to paint something that small.
yeah but somehow you manage to have the coordination to stroke something that small, how does that work exactly?

It looks shitty, the lines aren't even straight is how

>tfw the insult goes over your head
maki... :(

reeeeeeeespond pls

Sorry i have a massive cock so i don't usually catch that sort of stuff

>t. schiit shill

it's okay user I know those feels. also atticus user btw. I was thinking of getting rid of a bunch of my shit I don't use and just get a mjolnir 2. do you think I should? hows the valhalla? I like the idea of a SS+hybrid+tube AIO and my desk space is precious. mjolnir seems to deliver that in a low profile. I could go ifi again but the ican pro is 1.7k ($1k used if lucky) and I don't really like ifi.

HD600 have been the official headphones of /hpg/ for a long time, because /hpg/ settles for no less than the best.

>tubes
why bother? just get speakers if you're going to throw money away.

>HD600 the best

Don't you mean the HiFiMAN HE400S?

>how do i know how to pick out a good replacement that wont give me staticy sound?
Replacement plug to solder on, or a whole new cable?
Former: Neutrik / Rean are good and inexpensive.
Latter: Just about anything that's not the cheapest chink shit found on Ebay should work fine. For brand stuff, V-Moda makes good stuff. Or just DIY it.

daily reminder that pretending you like "neutral sound" with your HD600s won't make you a critical listener
>wow sushi-chan's voice sounds so great out of my over ear am radio

Mjolnir is fucking massive m8, almost twice the footprint of a Valhalla. Instead of that get one of the new Astell&Kern things (assuming it doesn't turn out to be shit) with the massive knob, that looks real nice and is in the same price range.

Valhalla is great, no discernable flaws and the tubes make the experience much nicer.

>he fell for the tube meme

>Mjolnir is fucking massive m8
I know, I should have clarified. I'm more concerned about depth and height than width. I like it because it is wider and low.

also I want that A&K because of the knob and the shit eating grin but the mjolnir has the three way tube switch...

>hifiman anything

If that's the case, I don't see anything wrong with just going for it. Mjolnir has some ridiculous power output specs so I doubt it would struggle with anything.

I was thinking an engraved el dac would fit nicely above the schiit logo

i got mine for a 100 each.

It would fit but the aesthetics just wouldn't match. If only they made a black Mjolnir

oh god. I'm sure I could take the top plate off and find an engraving service. I wonder what would happen to the resale value of it? an $800 amp with a waifu ass on it...

The intersection between audiophiles and weebs is pretty high, I'm sure it wouldn't affect resale too much

Oh snap.

>The [HD600/650] headband is a very high quality plastic and will not break
innerfidelity.com/content/sennheiser-hd-660-s-over-ear-open-headphones

>high quality plastic and will not break

>64169412
What does this picture mean then?
They look quite broken to me.

Also if you're taking Tyll's advice, then you clearly know the HE400S is a better headphone than Sennheisers HD6XX lineup.

Okay Sup Forums please help me pick a pair of headphones.

Requirements:
- Not wireless, prefer with detachable cable.
- Not noise canceling
- Closed back a must
- Comfy and cozy
- Not on-ear
- 100 - 200 Euros range
- I like bass

I was tallying up my gear and it took me 10 minutes to remember I owned an e-mu teak. if I can't even remember I own it I think it's a pretty good indicator I should sell it

I think I'm just going to do this with literally everything I own
youtube.com/watch?v=hlzzfj62oXU

I own them. I really like them as a portable set of headphones that I can just plug into my phone and not need an amp for them to sound good and loud. The covers don't really isolate you much or prevent sound from leaking out as much as you may want but the sound doesn't change much with them on or off either. Comfort isn't great. My ears are big so they touch the inside. I don't feel like the build quality is bad except for the headband. It feels cheap and after 3 months of owning them I noticed three really really small Cracks on the top left and right of the band. Ever since noticing this I've been more careful about pulling them and haven't noticed the cracks getting bigger.

Despite the problems I feel like they were a really solid buy at $130. Would consider other options if the price goes back up.

>What does this picture mean then?
Landwhales who sat on their headphones and shills of other brands of headphones who intentionally took power tools to Sennheisers.
>Also if you're taking Tyll's advice, then you clearly know the HE400S is a better headphone than Sennheisers HD6XX lineup.
>trusting the subjective audio preferences of an old man with old man hearing

Strongly considering Audio-Technica ATH-M50X btw. Thoughts?

DT770 80ohm or 250 ohm, 32 ohm is the worst version, get the 250 ohm version if you have a amp

Not comfy at all, the m50 needs new pads to be comfy, there is a lot of clamp

I'm looking for an amp + DAC for my beyerdynamic DT 880's 250ohm.

requirements:
>ships from europe
>100-500 euro price range
>good enough to drive 250ohms (so no USB amp)
>neutral sounding DAC (i use it for mixing and mastering)

I wanted to get a shit stack (modi + magni) but the magni is out of stock. any alternatives?

Oh that's disappointing, can you recommend anything? I don't like most 'audiophile' headphone because they are too light on bass for my taste and I don't want open back because I really really don't want sound leakage.

The DT770 80 ohms has plenty of bass and are super comfy

why be concerned about sound leakage? Are you watching porn with others in the room?

+1

Thanks, I'll check them out

I will be using them at work in a quiet office and in general I just hate people hearing what I'm listening to, its personal.

Get o2 off massdrop, then wait for odac to drop. your on-board dac will do fine until then.
They ship to Europe for cheap

Do not get the shciit stack, they measure poorly, for a dac I recommend the Topping D30 as for the amp that's up to you, you could get the topping A30 to complement your Topping D30 or get a SMSL VA2 amp

Given your description i'm inclined to agree with Anons suggesting DT770, it's pretty comfortable and should have enough bass for you, only down-side would be the non-detachable cable, i do have my DT880 for about 5 years now and had no problems so far if that helps.

That makes sense

OL DAC from JDS Labs is currently the best non-chinkmade DAC under $100, audibly perfect and no flaws like jittering which can be found on the Modi 2
as for amps, I'd say you could go for the Massdrop O2 as it ships quite fast in a desktop version for $95

Do massdrop's o2 and JDL's OLdac have the same dimensions?

Not him, but I don't think they are the same size

>used ATH-AD700s for 5 years for my PC
>needed something for my guitar amplifier, settled on 598s
>they're actually fantastic

I might buy a second pair for my PC, these are great.

So I looked at the DT770s and the m50x have a much better form factor, is there much of a difference in sound? On amazon the price is currently identical.

Thats a shame, hope odac will drop soon...

they're not exactly the same size but they're close enough to look fine

none of that ships FROM europe. that was my first requirement. i don't want to wait weeks and pay taxes out of my ass.

Even if you pay like 30 euros extra on import, there aint anything here in Europe that compares at this price range. Your impatience i can understand though.

Much difference in comfort actually.

DHL eCommerce (Massdrop) is very lenient on inspection, USPS International (JDS) pretty much never hits customs and chink imports (Topping) don't even get inspected with the amount of stuff coming through from china
both of Massdrop and JDS won't take more than a week to get to your place (chink shit is way longer)

also considering your price range and the price of these items, even with full-on taxes and customs, there won't be much more than 50€ overall
for exemple an O2 in Europe with the same desktop setup as the Massdrop version is 150€ and a Modi 2 Uber is 160€

Thanks for this perspective, build quality is my main concern. Is there anything else comparable to them in the price range? Something open that can double as a portable can?

I think my onboard sound is taking a shit on me.
>sound would occasionally buzz in one ear
>switched from headphones to speakers
>still buzzed
>got new headphones because mine were trash
>still buzzes
>think the problem is with mpv
>buzzes in vidya too
What's a good cheap sound card?

Why bother? Nothing will make those shitcans sound good. You'd be better off selling them and buying HD600 instead.

Shit I just discovered at 80ohms the DT770s would require an amp? (I'm noob sorry) m50x are 35ohm... this is probably a dealbreaker.

Hey csg
I'm looking for a 12V power bank but they all appear to be overpriced as fuck compared to their USB brothers
but I've seen quite a few decently priced ones that support 12V quickcharge over USB
now I've been wondering if a usb to 5.5mm barrel jack cable exists with some chip inside that tells the quickcharge thingy to always deliver 12V?
any ideas? suggestions for reasonably priced 12V power banks in the 20kmah are also welcome

80 ohms will do fine on a laptop or pc, Wouldn't use them with a phone, though some phones can handle them.

Ordered a pair of Senn 4.40BT's
Very comfy, well priced, bluetooth works like a charm, excellent battery. Not as much punch as I'd like, but pretty standard for Senn's I guess.

Have you tested your headphone from another source? Even a smartphone will do, if it still buzzes you might need a DAC.
Cheap depends on your budget.
Not really that hard to drive actually.

Did you see where I said that it buzzed in speaker too? Tried using my streaming box with my TV and got a few buzzes with that too.
Budget is $50, would rather spend less but if I need to go a tiny bit higher I probably could.

HiFiMeDIY UAE23 is a good DAC that you can find for like 40 bucks

your HD600 sound like shit too

>sell your headphones and get headphones that are twice as expensive
kill yourself

stop being angry because you are poor or dumb. purchase headphones at 50% and sell at 50%. you can keep buying headphones with little to no consequences

I don't need a DAC, the headphones work fine. I need a new sound card.

nigga

Thx for advice, might be using with mp3 player or phone from time to time though. The 35ohm in my post was wrong, thats the m40x, m50x is 38ohm.

>mixing and mastering
Might as well go for a higher sample rate audio interface to avoid unnecessary convertions and use the extra outs for a pair of monitors.

i don't like to use my monitors because i want to hear what the listener hears. i think headphones do a better job at this.

kys

Please explain.

Dude, DACs are literally sound cards.
