ranger.

gentoo

nautilus

pcmanfm gtk2

your shell of choice

Urxvt

l[]s -lh | cowsay -n

Thunar

ls -lh | cowsay -n

Suggest me a file manager that can open a folder with 90k pictures with thumbnails on.

Ever heard of subfolders?

ranger/thunar

fucking this

...

explorer.exe

Less convenient than tags in file names.

WHERE IS HER BELLY BUTTON?!?!

she doesn't have a belly button

Whaaaaat

caja.

>pcmanfm
I'll test it tomorrow. You wouldn't lie to me, right?

gtk2 version

nemo

Dolphin is awesome

xfe

this or vifm

Vifm is actually nicer. It's written in c instead of python and as a result it's a lot more responsive, but requires some ricing. Ranger has saner defaults, but vifm is more customizable.

fpbp

terminal nnn
GUI Donatella

dark nibbles though.

This, but unironically.

They're all shit.
>Gnome Files: Comfy design but zero features.
>Dolphin: Smart features but ugly design.

The problem is that "best" could be seen as implying "good".

>no integrated search
>doesn't remember 'view as' settings for individual folders
>doesn't shorten filenames when they're too long, causing inconsistent column widths
could be better

Dolphin is the best.... Trouble is, it comes with KDE.

fpbp

Dolphin

Who is this

I like ranger and nemo

>there are kids on Sup Forums who don’t even recognize Pamela Anderson
Holy fuck, I’m getting old.

This.
Either ranger for cl
Thunar for gui
terminal for no bloat what so ever.
I'd suggest terminal. It's the most manly.

Pcmanfm and Ranger.

Nothing nothing compares to VIFM especially if you already know VIM

RANGER!

NOOOOOOOO WAY!

Only the most wanked over female on the face of the Earth!

GNU Midnight Commander.

It's totally the best thing for organizing and moving files around - i.e managing files.

I use nemo of I want to browse through some folder and play some video file and things like that.

But for actually managing files there's nothing like good old mc - which is like what I used back in the MS-DOS days (Norton commander). I also use Ghost Commander on my phone.

ranger? That's wildly inefficient for moving or organizing files. It's a joke.

Wtf I hate women now

mc
and dolphin for gui

mc is nice for ftp, but for managing files ranger is 1000x better
speaking of which, why can't I ftp with ranger?

These

>Gnome Files: takes forever to load a folder and moves the files all over the place while at it
