I don't understand why people buy high end stand mount speakers.
Can we not? /ck/ is bad enough with this soy shitposting
1. floor standing speakers are heavy - heavy to ship, and expensive to build
2. driver technology is good enough that a small enclosure is enough to produce good bass down to 35hz (pic related)
3. speakers designed with #2. in mind need space to radiate to produce soundstaging effects -- about 4-6 feet in diameter in the horizontal plane, and they need to be about 2-3 feet above floor level to avoid "floor bounce" sonic cancellation and interference effects, and to bring the tweeter higher -- stand mount solves some of these problems
Was this thing seriously made in MS paint?

iz okay mane
Hey so I want to put some speakers in my garage for streaming music from my phone. Something like one of those little portable bluetooth speakers, but it can just stay on a shelf plugged in, and it needs to be powerful enough for a big garage with the door open.
I looked at the Sonos but I don't know if I'm cool enough to have one of those.
Any ideas?
copped a pair of these for $200 on black fri, saved a buck, feels good mang
>Can we not? /ck/ is bad enough with this soy shitposting
Soyboy detected.
GTFO no way.
>1
That's why I said "high end". I can understand why people buy cheap ones
>2
And yet it would still be better bass if the enclosure was bigger
>3
That's a terrible argument, they can just build the cabinet with that in mind
Stay on your containment board
Certain things bookshelf speakers just. Can't do. Such as play down into the 20hz range or produce proper bass impact that's typical of larger woofers.
They do offer great performance as far as imaging and are easier to store/move/transport.
>35hz
so you only miss out the best, juiciest, deepest bass?
nope, you just get a cheapo REL
