Google doesn't lie to you about collecting data, it does exactly what it says.

Firefox has been shown to consistently reset privacy conditions, ignore telemetry preferences (and upload them anyways) and has used one of their personal backdoors into your browser to install intrusive adware despite their assurances it was for non-commercial userbase studies.
