Could this scale enough to fix pollution worldwide?

>Could this scale enough to fix pollution worldwide?

No. But every coal-fueled plant in the world should be required to install several of these onsite so as to ensure nothing leaves the site. Should also be minimum 4x capacity for potential the plant exhausts so that they also clean miscellaneous background pollution in compensation for dumping their shit on the public for the last 150 years at everyone else's expense.

That would be a good, minimal start.

>So, China has built a ginormous air purifier and it works, according to China.

>X did Y and it's Z
millennial trash headline, not gonna bother reading the rest

Could they also build massive air conditioners to cool the city?

A lot of stuff works in China but doesn't work when you build it somewhere else.

Yeah I highly doubt it works. There is more air flowing past just that area in the picture than 30 of those could manage to collect.

Pollution isn't a problem schlomo cuck soyboy dindu XDD
Oy vey (((parentheses)))

Now, with that out of the way; can we have an actual discussion without your shitposting, pretty please?

Why not the whole world instead?

what about that forest of trees it's surrounded by? did that help perchance?

What if we put giant air conditioners on the poles and dump their heat into the Earth's core. Or space. Boom. Solved climate change.

Where will all the pollution go once the air purifiers storage fills up? Just reverse the flow back into the air again? Or dig up a forest and bury it there?

How long until they try to make ginormous sparrow filters again?

...

That's edgy

technically yes

Boomer trash headlines do not invalidate my gripe with millennial trash headlines.
>t. Millennial journalist

Nothing wrong in there.

Perhaps the starting point for these purifiers would be cities. I'm sure china will lead the way on this experiment since the pollution in theirs is notoriously bad.

Millennials are writing headlines now, gramps.

ahzhah what's killing harley's sales is making shit bikes

i don't think it would as nearly effective in other country because a good day in china is a pollution alert everywhere else
it's probably working "well" because their air is absurdly polluted

That's what I'm saying, the headlines are trash

I don't think its a matter of "does it it work", but "does it work well enough to worth installing em?"

Is this powered only by photovoltaics

>m.scmp.com/news/china/society/article/2128355/china-builds-worlds-biggest-air-purifier-and-it-seems-be-working
Why does that article show actual photographs of whatever is being built, but then shows an artists rendering at the end of the final product?

many of the coal plants already filter their smoke

Communism > Capitalism

>China
>Communist
Come on. You're not even trying.

>Well done millenials - you've officially ruined handshakes for everyone
You're welcome!
*shakes hand with dick*

>fucking trees?

>at everyone else's expense
Who do you think will be paying for these?

At least half of those things had it coming.

Who paid you to make this post?

you read this thread with the same title.
stop trying to be edgy Braiden, i think you have chores to do

Fuck trees, they're dying!

>Braiden
That's like, black Raiden?
>LET'ER RIP NIGGA

how this shit works ?
it just enhances airflow ?

>China
>(Spits) communism

t. el americano la creatura !

At least they did not end it with "and here's why"

Hey, want a FREE helicopter ride?

that's good to hear!
i don't understand why though, it seems extreme with technologies like nuclear power, and hydrogen.

i can't believe the US doesn't have more smog since we drive so much.

i hope the Chinese develop into a highly advanced communist nation. I think unification is the only true way. I think everyone could just learn each other's language. If we didn't do desperate silly things for money. then we could travel to space!

And it's taken the internet by storm.

mexico

The coal plant operator.

>Who do you think will be paying for these "employees"?! Businesses always pass these costs to the consumer!

>Who do you think will be paying for these "shelves" in grocery stores?

>Who do you think will be paying for these "doors" on cars?

>Who do you think pays for grips on handguns? Why are you forcing the manufacturer to include a grip?! That just costs more and gets paid by the customer!!!

We get it, you're libertarian. Nobody cares. What you consider a breakthrough, literally everyone else on earth considers an axiom.

This is how you solve global warming; inject sulfur aerosols into the upper atmosphere. Most estimates predict that it would only cost $10-$20 billion a year to completely stop any CO2 based warming effect. Vastly cheaper than trying to eliminate co2 emissions, or relocate people in coastal areas inland.

Granted there would still be changed weather patterns & it does nothing for ocean acidification, but those issues are much more manageable.

/thread

the small ones they installed back in 2016 were working for 1-2 blocks away from its position but thats it
cfej.net/Item/Show.asp?m=1&d=23922
they werent able to do what they promise since the smog was horrible
so i guess they upped it to ginormous size

Am I the only one that finds this image difficult to understand spatially?

After you pointed it out, no. That hurt my head.

Underrated

So what do they do with all the pollutants it captures? Send it on a train to a poor area? Dump it in a river?

Yeah, surely he won't charge his consumers more to make up for the cost
Or cut wages
Or benefits
Or hours
Or get robots to do the labour

kek btfo

Why wouldn't he have already done those if he could?
If Mr. Coal Plant can't compete with other energy sources he should go out of business.

Similar towers can be used to generate electricity.

So maybe they can combine power generation with air cleaning and make it economically viable to build huge numbers of these.
If not I think it would be much cheaper to switch to electric vehicles instead.

Yeah... In America.
China's regulations are rarely followed and often just lie to the outside world.

That's stupid.

Just put the filter straight on the chimney.

>i know how to fix the planet just put a bunch of sulfur in the upper atmosphere

It's actually not such a wacko idea.

Certainly not the ideal solution but since reducing CO2 emissions has failed it might be our only option.

Most plants already filter and pump their CO2 elsewhere, not that it makes up for all the shit they've dumped into the air.

Do they also filter radioactive particles?

"good job guy, now we make more pollution!"
Some chink, probably

>It was entirely powered by electricity, most of which is generated by coal-fired power plants in China.
more of a smog moving than re-moving device.

India needs to build this. They need to fix that curry smell. Fuck!

>pump poisonous gas into atmosphere to cool planet
Burger education

So causality is the reason you won't read it?

Thats a new level of stupid. Om gonna guess you voted trump.

India needs a culture fix.
They see shitting in their own home as sinful and shameful, since a home is a place of worship, shitting in it is disrespectful.

Why don't you Nigger homo trump voters not understand that socialism is an ideology for human welfare.

Capitalism is what deals with money.

You can have both systems in place and one cannot replace the other.

Norway is a socialist capitalist nation for example.

Absolutely this. Until they allow worldwide scientists to accurately measure the air surrounding it, it's just more communist propaganda.

Why don't they use outhouses?

In other news the press was about to interview some sceptical scientists but they all seem to have been executed already.

It'd be easier just to eradicate the lesser educated Indians, nobody wants a billion of them and nobody with power will raise a stink (hue) at how we achieve that.

What years are considered millenials?

Also its the older generation who ruined the world for the younger generation. As a 24 year old earning above average salary in relation to the part of the country I live in, it would take me 20 years to save for a deposit (this is while renting a small apartment or professional share let and saving as much as i can, no netflix or other services etc).

I will never be able to afford new cars and my insurance is ridiculous. I drive a 1.6L petrol.
First year - £2600 / Renewal quoted at £3000
Second year - £1800 / Renewal quoted at £2400
Third Year - £1600
This is with no incidents and no claims years being added each time.

I have to pay out £240 a month for fuel in order to get to and from work, I can't afford to move closer. My monthly food budget is only £150.

Could this have the potential of going awry and triggering global cooling, killing the majority of the world population via starvation?

>reducing standard of living to best korea levels instead of using a cheap workaround to side effects of using cheap abundant natural resources

Tobacco doesn't cause lung cancer and pro football doesn't increase danger of brain damage.

>has brought a noticeable improvement in air quality, according to the scientist leading the project
How about a third party testing those claims?

When it's harder to change anything, it becomes easier to kill.

>four pest campaign
This is why I love to lurk sometimes.

Standing near the exhaust it smells of lilac and starved peasants.

I like this idea, maybe not the sulfur, because it's something we could actively undertake to cause cooling and it is something we would have to maintain constantly because rain takes it out of the sky.

The only problem is that the image you are showing has it dispersed over land, which isn't where it is needed. We need it over the oceans.

Due to pollution the reflectivity of clouds over land is already higher than normal, it's over oceans where the air is cleanest that the clouds are the least reflective and need boosting.

user have you ever read sci fi books where people live in shelter cities and the oceans are lifelessly acidified and you need a suit to go out?

Because too much SO2 leads to that

Why don't we just pour a bunch of baking soda into the oceans?

Well, I said maybe not sulfur.

Anyone younger than me that I don't like

I'm not American you faggot, I just despise the journalistic climate your shithole of a country helped create

China has ordered a major shutdown of its factories from late November until late February or so to fight smog and pollution during the winter months.

Furthermore, it has booked every LNG cargo it could get its hands on, worldwide, including taking all of Qatar's capacity for itself, in order to reduce coal demand. It has gotten to the point where the Americans had to buy Russian LNG from a -sanctioned- project in the arctic because they couldn't find any elsewhere.

Correlation is not causation, the tower could be doing jack shit for all we know.

Is public transport not an option? Here you can get a pass for ~120 cad that lets you use the bus/subway unlimited number of times for a month

>makes a shitpost
>can we please not shitpost guys??

>i can't believe the US doesn't have more smog since we drive so much.
lrn2history

>not 'chinormous'

Of course not.

>You can have both systems in place and one cannot replace the other.
No you can't. Socialism has always been a replacement for capitalism
>muh nordic model
"Social democracy" and "welfare state" are more correct terms. "Socialism" has been redefined by communist apologists to trick them into going that path.

woohoo, acid rain!

I'm surprised China didn't claim it was a quantum air purifier, like they've been doing for all of their military tech.

That's a giant deodorant. It doesn't do anything else than disperses MORE chemicals to atmosphere. Just read more on internet and you will know that their agenda is to manipulate other nations to succumb under complete smog. It will happen in next 50 years from now and in a way that nobody can actually see it coming. What they are doing now is they are slowly pushing their own pollution out from the country with microwave radiation and low frequency radiation. You will see, screenshot my post.

>since reducing CO2 emissions has failed
well we could alwys just try and off ourselves directly

depends what it's doing to the stuff it's removing from the air

I tried looking for the full version because it's hilarious(ly relevant).
