Currently looking to replace my iphone 6 since its slowing down to all shit. It literally will take about 5 seconds to open imessage.

I'm not too keen on getting apple again because of how they are slowing down their older phones but their interface has always been good.

I've been looking at the new Razer phone or the Iphone 8 because I'm not paying 1k for a phone nor do I have the money to do so.

I recently upgraded from an 6S to an iPhone 8. It's pretty nice. Qi charging is alot more useful than I thought it would be (I picked up both a qi car mount and a qi stand for my desk at home).

Apple by default slows down all phones after a year so replacing the battery wouldn't help in terms of CPU performance. While you would experience more reliable charges, (Your phone not dying at 20%, Incorrect battery percentages, Etc.), The performance throttling that comes in the IOS update can't be avoided by simply replacing the battery.

Apple slows them down based on battery status. Because the newest iPhones sell the best, if Apple did it by time, the histograms of Geekbench score peaks would be reversed, with lowest performance being the most common, but they're not.

Cellphone batteries last for about a year of regular use before they drop to 80% capacity. This is probably why you're confused.

I'd check out the OnePlus 5T, the Xperia XZ1 and XZ1 compact. I don't think you should spend much more than $500 on a smart phone personally so these would be a good start as they all use Snapdragon 835.
