This is Croatia 2016, and some of you guys used to call us nonwhite and a shithole, meanwhile we are 1st world and these are our accomplishments so far and there be plenty more in the future:
>money and high purchasing power >already spend 100 of millions of dollars on importing Polish technology to more easily compete with Western Europe >people ride bikes to work >importing cars from Portugal >almost every family has a car and a PC with internet >low unemployment >strategical partnership with Argentina until 2050 >exporting to Serbia and Bosnia >young people stay longer with their families instead of moving out early >army uses homemade tanks >people wear trendy clothes >most people have smartphones
>Polish """technology""" Is it like Polish intellectuals?
Adam Cox
Unironically on my list for when i graduate
Sebastian Hill
>polish technology >portuguese cars >young people stay longer with their families instead of moving out early how is this good?
Adam Sullivan
I'm going to include a photo of screen with my (You), quint 5's, and passport with my CV.
Since I'm CS this should be more than enough to get me a job, I'm assuming.
Xavier Brooks
also holy shit Croatia first world confirmed
Benjamin Scott
I played a polish vidya that was pretty good.
No fucking clue what a "portugese car" is.
Hudson Miller
nice for you m8, keep it up
Kevin Cook
>the witcher literally the only good thing to come out of poland in the last decade
Adam Morales
you are a shithole
t. guy from another shithole
Robert Harris
Croattia is god ZA DOM
Daniel Morales
yes
Grayson Collins
Nothing else comes to mind, but i don't think Poland's a total shithole.
Austin Hughes
The Slovenian Man cares not for what happens in Croatia! There was war in Croatia for 300 years, and did the Slovenian man balk at the danger? Nay, he continued both to pay for Croatia's military AND to trade with the Serbs despite the calamity that was in Croatia at that time by the hand of the Turks. And in 1941, did the Croats avail the Slovenian Man? Nay, they betrayed him to the Swabian hoping he'd die! But he endures! Brave, upright Slovenian man needs no Croats! And yet he thanked them kindly for their help with the Swabian problem later in the war! Committed to harmony with the Croats was he for decades thereafter! Let none say that the Slovenian Man is aught but just yet free! And Croats are but shadowy ancillary figures in the Slovenian man's straightforward path to Western Europe on which he falters not! Late will be the hour in which the two shall reunite on Western Europe's green meadows! Until then, Stipe cousin, take care!
Leo Cox
Why do I always see a sliced wound when I look at these borders
Witnessed
Asher Butler
Do you guys have w.euro-tier vacations? Like 3 weeks per year?
Aaron Powell
>sliced wound thinking of yugoslav
Zachary Ross
>Like 3 weeks per year?
yes thats is the minimum, how mut in USA?
based slovenian man masterrace, we croats will always be čevap eating half balkanniggers
Jackson Perez
Good to know. Zero is minimum in USA.
Jose Lopez
Oh, čevaps are an essential part of every Slovenian picnic, except that we eat them without kajmak and lepinja. But even those are becoming easier to get.
John Bennett
>Zero is minimum in USA. >first world
Xavier Gutierrez
>ćevapi >bez lepinje
Logan Cook
Yea, it's fucked. Not a small part of why i'm going to expatriate.
Daniel Lewis
What about sick leave?
Tyler Robinson
It all varies but it's typically a pittance. Don't think there's a specific amount of legally mandated sick leave.
Elijah Adams
They aren't portuguese cars, it's just cars from Renault, Citroën, etc made in Portugal and then exported
Christopher Williams
Ah yes, western europe's mexico.
Carson Mitchell
How fast is your internet? How much for a pack of smokes and a reasonable amount of strong beer?
James Butler
Do people keep falling for this old pasta?
Parker Davis
Don't. Zagreb ehhhhh maybe but trust me you don't want this your standard of life is so much better.
Gavin Johnson
American social stratification is much harsher than here. The gap between the rich and the poor is enormous in America, while here it is much smaller (relic of socialism).
Also, far far FAR less violent crimes here. So much so that when a murder happens it's front page news for a week, while in America it's not even a footnote
Austin Bell
I'm what you would call a middle-to-low class citizen and can't even afford to get some cevapi and treat myself in any way. Also, we always shift between two shit governments that haven't done anything worthwile since Tudman.
Wyatt Rivera
I've lived in some legitimately rough conditions and am unphased by that stuff. All i really need is a decently paying job, a civilized amount of legally mandated vacation, internet, beer (preferably cheap), and some degree of natural splendor nearby. Apartment could be a shithole as long as i have internet, a window, and hot running water.
Luis Martinez
take out a loan hehe that is the american way after all
John Walker
1500-2000 kn/month rent + utilities for a shit one room apartment in the outskirts of Zagreb (to be clear, outskirts of Zagreb means 30 minute public transportation ride to the center)
cca 200 kn for decent internet (adsl flat), bottle of beer is 7 kn in a store, 12-15 in a bar
natural splendor - well, there are plenty of parks in zagreb, and going to the coast or to national parks is a few hours drive
1 US dollar = 6.669 Croatian kuna
Wyatt Richardson
m8 ive been to croatia, like your country, but you are absolutely fucking deluded if you think people are living better there than here
Jacob Clark
Keep in mind that your monthly paycheck will probably be 7000-12000 kn depending on where you work.
Noah Collins
didnt say people live better here than in the us, i said that there was a larger divide between the rich and poor in the US than there is here
Wyatt Bell
Sounds great. 30min public transport ride is nothing. Prices are cheap and i'd imagine there's decent money to be made with computers.
Jayden Thomas
>7000-12000 kn if you have a college degree (having a US college degree would be a big help in this regard)
if you have highschool degree, 3000-4000kn salary is what you can expect
Luke Hall
Not even close to what he said.
Cooper Howard
I have a degree from a large US university in a wishy-washy subject (international studies - world econ and business, and german) and haven't gone to grad school yet. Could i be a not-poor, desk slave in zagreb?
Caleb Brown
-12000 kn >if you have a college degree
nigga you are deluded, starting pay for college jobs mainly non stem but even some stem is usually 4-5k
Sebastian Cooper
>Could i be a not-poor, desk slave in zagreb?
not easy m8. I have a non stem major also, work for the gov in zagreb curently, its not easy to get a non stem college job in zagreb
Julian Mitchell
As expected. Grad school it still is then.
Luke Hughes
>Grad school
what grad school? that is the real question, unless you program javascript or some shit you wont find job easily...however there are plenty of "expat " type jobs liek teaching english in am school in zagreb etc. that is actually quite a smart path or jobs in your embasy
zagreb is a great place to live btw and we kind of like yanks. what state are you form?
Leo Ward
> 64352721 > importing cars from Portugal > almost every family has a car and a PC with internet
wew lad brb emigrating to Croatia right now
Gavin Green
also polish technology
Kevin Murphy
Still deciding on grad school, desu. I dabble in programming but don't have any certificates and might go CS even if it's undergrad again. I've lived all over the us and don't remember my birthplace (air force family) but live in california.
