I didn't get much about the technical specs from Circle's site. Anyone know exactly what it does? Does it sit between your router and modem like a pi-hole?

the circle device uses ARP poisoning to associate its own MAC address with the IP address of the default gateway. you should be able to bypass it by setting a static ARP route from the default gateway to the real MAC address of your router.
No firewall is perfect. They don't catch everything. Especially not low-end consumer trash like Circle.
