Guys I want to learn a "useless" language but I can't decide which. How do I choose?
I'm already learning European Portuguese which I guess is "useless" but I'm a bit of a portuboo and have a lot of tuga friends and spend a lot of time in Portugal so it's not really useless for me.
I'm torn between Galician, Basque, Catalan, Latin, Classical Greek, or Esperanto.

Some really meme-tier Chinese language. There is some grudging language policy in which those ethnic groups are part of the Chinese nation even though their languages are dying. You might be able to do a lot as a foreigner if you speak Iu Mien or something.

German is the most common language in Europe. It's also spoken in Africa (Namibia) and most importantly in the USA.

There aren't a lot of German speakers in our area though (Chicago suburbs), most German speakers in the US are either Amish or in North Dakota.

Afrikaans can be quite useful imo. It's a nice way of easing into the germanic languages, and it has a decent amount of speakers.
Basque, on the other hand, is truly the epitomy of uselessness.

Are basques qts? I like PT girls but most are difficult as fuck and spanish girls are generically underwhelming (except Catalans but most I've known are a tad crazy). I'm trying to find a new Iberian waifu and I might have to settle on a Basque.

Sorry. Esperanto is not as useless as some people think. I see Esperanto as a remarkable success story. It has survived wars and revolutions and economic crises and continues to attract people to learn and speak it. Esperanto works. I’ve used it in about seventeen countries over recent years. I recommend it to anyone, as a way of making friendly local contacts in other countries.

Go for latin because courses use roman scriptures as case studies, so you end up learning tons of amazing things about the romans
