Plex

Do any of you guys have a custom pre-roll that runs before movies/etc.? What does it look like?

I don't have one right now, but I want to make one (somehow.)

No, what would be the point? If I want to watch a movie I want the movie to play

What honestly would be the point of that?

kinda this, the only reason would be if you run a server for a large audience.

They're all pretty bad and poorly made. The only decent one I've seen is vimeo.com/138375977. I'd shave 4 seconds off of it and remove the 'Feature Presentation' part. Wish someone would upload the project they have for it. Can't find one.

I'm interested in having one, but either it requires a Plex Pass, which I don't have, or I'm a fucking moron who can't figure it out.

This and the other, very similar ones are both nice, albeit slightly long. If this played while the other content was buffering/loading, that'd be neat...but I somehow doubt that's the case.

...

'preciate the help, but it doesn't seem to work.

Actually, disregard this. As expected, I'm a moron and it works now.

I'll now leave Sup Forums forever.

You store your video on your boot drive? Or is your boot drive not C?

Also it looks like he's using Windows as a server, lel. Likely a desktop version too

>vimeo.com/138375977
Wow that was fucking gay. Why would anybody want that?

>for a large audience

say no more

vimeo.com/94187652

>pre-roll that runs before movies/etc.

What the shit?

Do you also hire niggers to sit behind you and make comments at the screen?

Kek

No, and I think that the people who do have incredibly bad taste.

Same with pre-roll trailers.

>doesnt run plex on a NAS or dedicated linux server

I run a seeding and streaming "server"
Using windows because it's easier for other people I live with to use a homegroup to move files than to explain why linux is better

sudo apt-get install samba

add linux server to your homegroup.

Problem solved. The real reason is that you're a brainlet.

oh neato
does it work exactly the same once it's all up?

>add linux server to your homegroup.
Linux supports the homegroup cancer now?

Before every movie I watch the trailer to Changing Lanes

samba nigger, git gud.

Is there a way to set up playing trailers before movies in plex without paying for plex pass or whatever it is you need?

I just run minidlna and samba.
everything just werks.

no. thought about adding movie trailers but its just so bot as convienant. also, i cant wait to dump plex. their ui is getting bloated in settings, social logins, too many redirects to their domain, and their telemetry antics and privacy policy switcharoos are leaving a bad taste.

>Do you also hire niggers to sit behind you and make comments at the screen?
>twf you don't have to hire them because you already live with them

Speaking of Plex, does anyone else have the problem that it doesn't work while qbittorrent is running?

what's the last libre version of emby?

No.

should I use PLEX instead of minidlna?
I read somewhere that they sell your data, is it worth?

never had a problem with plex while torrenting. just don't torrent when you plan on using plex. or use a different torrent client.

It's just a minor inconvenience, but it would still be nice if i could find out what is causing it

id start with holy water. you got ghosts son

have you checked they aren't sharing the same ports
qbittorrent might be using a port PLEX needs or vice versa
check the web UI

>Completed torrent files are all dumped in the same folder
>Plex shits itself trying to ID everything
>Can't move files into separate folders for organizing cause Transmission stops seeding
>Don't want to make copies cause of limited space

Any solutions?

stop using torrents and download through usenet

Symbolic links

Theres a Kodi plugin that pulls trailers and such before playing a movie, for that cinematic experience.

...and he was never heard from again.

>Completed torrent files are all dumped in the same folder
decide where they go before you download
>Can't move files into separate folders for organizing cause Transmission stops seeding
right click on torrent file, set location.

Radarr and Sonarr.

That's actually it, thanks

transmission can move them for you or you can choose the new location after you've moved them yourself

That's not homegroups

>Windows

>running Plex on a NAS
Unless you built your NAS yourself, the transcoding will be shit

Why exactly do you want to play trailers before the film? Are you just trying to imitate the cinema experience? Sitting through 15 minutes of ads is one of the worst experiences of going to the movies

>transcoding
Just use Original Quality you pleb

I use Serviio DNLA server. Combined with a few WDTV Live players placed around the house I can play back almost anything with no trans coding required. it's been trouble free since 2012.

Why can't plex scan 1gb+ videos? I see it start a sync on the folder but it never shows in the client. Any log files I can grep?

I add small porn trailers before TV shows while working out. Keeps the testosterone high.

I use original quality. But friends and family also use my server, and their connection usually isn’t good enough to watch original quality

I use Flexget with transmissionrpc and automatically move series into subdirectories as they finish.

Isn't emby still libre?
I mean, there's closed source clients, and you have to pay for some features (like syncing to the closed source clients), but isn't the baseic server/web interface FOSS and fully functional without the subscription?
