Are you using Slack?

Are you using Slack?

No.

Yes.

I'm "using" it

>not a new Slackware-based distro.
This isn't even half the fun I thought it was going to be.

Hipchat is superior.

>paying for IRC

No, i use mattermost

Only for some nonprofit projects I'm involved in. It's pretty good for project and work-related stuff.

my computer science club at uni uses it, i fucking hate it

We are using hipchat at work and it's total trash

discord is miles better

Is it just me, or is the push notifications on mobile absolute dogshit?

Yeah, at work, but I'm pushing to move to MS Teams. At the very least it has better notifications.

I'm a fan of all the stupid emotes my team can add with slack.

Only because my advisor makes me.
Feels bad man.

I LIKE PHAT TITTIES AND BIG ASS SLUTS PLEASE ADDD TO DATABASE

I use it at work, and there's a local developer group also, yeah.

I use Discord for personal use, and we use Microsoft Teams at work.

lol no

No, we use Skype for Business (formerly Microsoft Office Communicator) which is a massive piece of shit.

they knew that already from looking at your pornhub browsing history

can confirm Skype for business is a steaming pile

Nah. We're using Jabber currently

It really is a piece of shit. We used it at my old work and because of legacy Lync requirements you get none of the new Skype stuff.

Anything Atlassian is pure garbage.

...

I don't mind Jira tbqh, way better than the abomination that is S*rviceNow.

Yes
Fuck no

SourceTree is great most of the time, though.

>Anything but the command line

Yes, but I don't like it, it's heavy and doesn't clean metadata from photo.

Having decent all-in-one GUI for diff, stashing, merging, branching, and most importantly looking through the commit history is objectively more efficient than using pure git for the purpose - trying to deny is an actual autism here.
You do have to fall back to git for some more niche functionality, but the basic stuff works great.

My company uses it. I don't like how it's a whole fucking web browser just for a chat client, but what can you do.

Jabber is trash

>a whole fucking web browser just for a chat client
What do you mean? Do you not otherwise use a web browser during work? It's literally a single tab.

my browser doesn't support desktop notifications from the web client and I ain't manually checking that shit every 5 minutes.

>my browser doesn't support desktop notifications
use a better fucking browser, user. Also, don't they have a standalone app?

I won't use a """better""" browser because I don't want to. And the standalone app is what I'm talking about, uses electron.

>his browser doesn't support basic functionality
>meme quotes around "better"

Nope, I use Discord, Signal, and BBM for work.
