>new cpu every year with a 500mhz difference
Where is my 10GHz cpu?

That's because the current goal is power and thermal efficiency for mobile platforms.

We approached a softcap for speeds or more importantly transistor density, so its more effective to work towards efficiency instead.

>2600k to 3770k had difference of 100mhz
>Ryzen first gen difference is 200mhz
Looks to me like AMD is 100mhz ahead

Ask Jon

Kirino a shit

>skylake 4ghz
>kabylake 4.5ghz
>coffee lake 5ghz

not hard lad

see above

hi

sorry sweetie but Skylake is 4.3Ghz

Why is ops/clock never a part of these discussions? Or then ops/dollar cost? Watt? Ops per unit total cost of ownership

>coffee lake 5ghz
Well I guess Bulldozer is 8.2Ghz then

who this

>+200mhz base clock
>bad
SOPA

it's not about MHz it's about speed boost. Intel IPC improvements have been stale for quite a while, until AMD released Ryzen. This is just the tock, just wait until we reach tick with Ryzen 2.

user

These?
>nb4 speculative execution bugs

coffee lake out of box 5ghz?

moore would have been ashamed

Ayase best girl

wrong

Best housewife

I fucking wish

Try again, faggot.

>tfw remembering these girls are 14-17 years of age
ffffuck

I'm 19, and 16 is legal in Texas (rules of 3 though).

> AMD shills suspiciously absent from this thread

really makes you think

They already told you the news of your brain damage, what else is there?

>comparing different cpu generations by clock speeds
mfw

>new cpu every year with a 500mhz difference
That would be fantastic

500 millihertz?
I'd be pissed at such a small improvement too.

Why is there so much anti AMD shilling when Intel is the one affected by the Meltdown vulnerability?

sometimes it's 500MHz less

because intel is the one affected by the meltdown vulnerability

Because AMDs are still, by and large, cheaper and perform worse. Two vulns, even performance impacting ones, doesn't change the general trend.

Also not everybody that doesn't suck the cock of your preferred corporation is a shill, nigger.

we're just preparing ahead of time for when AMD is better, if it isn't we'll stick with intel. Call it speculative preferencing

>debating age of consent when talking about FUCKING CHINK CARTOONS

POOZEN IS BETTAR

Why do inshills always claim mythical clockspeeds?

I think you'll find that the phrase is tick tock not tock tick you backwards twat

You have to have a 3some or someone has to watch?

Wouldn't Zen be the tick, Zen+ be the tock, and Zen 2 be another tick?

>intel come out with a new cpu every year with a 500mhz difference

wow, those 9.00 GHz processors in your reality must really be something, huh OP?

1000MHz more in 13 years. Fucking jewtel holding the technology back!

I guess so but it's 1.5 cycles and it bothers me

Nvm I'm retarded

This

wtf now I hate AMD, I need those megahurtz to live!

I want Kirino's lips

>actually falling for the megahurts meme

this entire thread is packed with Sup Forumskiddies

>hz determine the cpu performance
It's the early 2000s all over again

Really shows how the last trick for a dying microarchitecture is to pump up the clock speeds.

MUH NIGGAHURTZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

it's really just more intfail shills desperate attempts to damage control for SpecdownGate

yayo

Ruri wins, sorry.

>getting hyped for pieces of hardware
I never understood this

this is what prompted me to gradually but completely switch to AMD

Never forgetti

>a new cpu every year with a 500mhz difference

I had a 3.4GHz P4 in 2004. Where's my 10.4 GHz air cooled processor?

I was excited for my first 8-core.

Maybe you never understood it because you don't have a need for hardware.

By that metric, Kaby Lake is 4.2 GHz, and Coffin Lake is 3.7 GHz.

show bob and vagene

This. I was excited to buy my first(at the time) decent CPU, the 3770

Don't be so hard on yourself, user :)

Autism user, autism.

shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

THIS. What the fuck is wrong with this fool, going after the sis' friend. Men of culture pick the goth loli.

Maybe I should reiterate.
Tick=Ryzen
Tock=Ryzen+
Tick=Ryzen 2
Tock= ????

Just like Intel.

Tick= Nehalem
Tock=Westmere
Tick=Sandy Bridge
Tock=Ivy Bridge
Tick=Haswell
Tock=Broadwell

You get the picture? Just because most of Sup Forums doesn't know what they're talking about doesn't give you the right to be an asshole. Your autism is showing.

I'm a poorfag and even I'm excited. Why? Because this means when I upgrade systems might actually be faster. I had to wait 5 years before I upgraded last time, and honestly the only reason it was a jump was because of the extra cores. This also means my little PC building outfit can convince people to build :)

To be fair, AMD isn't exactly following tick-tock here(not that Intel is doing that anymore, either), since Ryzen 2 is both improved architecture AND a new process. Likewise with Ryzen.

sure thing, but kirino best girl

AMD
>Lower cost / better price for performance
>Works much like INTEL under normal workload
>Similar clock speeds to INTEL after OC
>No vulnerability
>Chips from 2010-2012 still as fast 7 years later
>"It's fast enough, stable enough and cheap enough for my kind of workload!"

INTEL
>Expensive as fuck unless you ditch cores
>Works much like AMD under normal workload
>Slightly better speeds than AMD out of the box
>Mind numbing memory dumping vulnerability
>Chips from 2010-2012 will be slower after the fix
>"AMD POORFAGS WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND OUR SUPERIORITY!"

t. running a Xeon 5650 on LGA1366 because intel changes socket types more often than your mom changes her panties.

I honestly believe that AMD is the superior platform for individuals. Intel are the masters at jewing regular people. Any way possible they have of making a slight buck by either changing sockets, "fixing" an obviously known vulnerability in older chips or even patenting software and drivers, they will. Intel is faster because Intel has the funds to make sure their shit appears faster than it actually is. The "AMD CRASHES MORE OFTEN" meme is also utterly false. My computer crashed more often than I can remember. The PC I built for my brother a couple years back with an OCd 8350 has yet to crash ONCE.

AMD > INTEL

>AMD does a tick-tock in one cycle
intel is btfod and bankrupt

...

Kill yourself dumb anime poster.

I don't care about muh memehertz. I want faster, more efficient processors WITHOUT skimping on integrity this time please.

anime website

are u mad son?

>amd

how often do you use all 8 cores

if you didnt draw this yourself you dont deserve to post it

If you don't make a piece of software yourself you do not deserve to use it.
